2015 MIDWEST MAJOR INVITATIONAL OFFICIAL RULES
The Midwest Major Invitational is a USSSA sanctioned tournament, therefore, the tournament will follow the
USSSA rules and regulations. These rules can be found online at www.usssabaseball.org. The following are bylaws for the Midwest Major Invitational.
1. There is a time limit of 1 Hour and 40 Minutes for all games except the championship game.
2. No warnings for balks
3. A courtesy runner for the pitcher and catcher is optional until there are 2 outs; then it is mandatory.
Courtesy runners are to be a player off of the bench. If all players are batting in the continuous lineup, then it
must be the last batted out.
4. The run rule shall be 15 after 3 innings, 10 after 4 innings, and 8 after 5 innings.
5. PITCHING RULES
A. THERE IS NO PITCHING LIMIT FOR INNINGS IN THIS GAME. PLEASE BE CAREFUL AND NOT RUIN AN
ARM FOR A WIN. RULE OF THUMB IS TO KEEP KIDS LOWER THAN 30 FOR SATURDAY TO PITCH SUNDAY AND
NO MORE THAN 85 IN 1 DAY.
6. Seeding will be based on 1. Record
2. Head to Head
3. Run Differential (+/-10 MAX)
4. Runs Allowed
5. Runs Scored 6. USSSA Power Rankings 7. USSSA Points
*When a team is selected through process of elimination, then we will start again at the first tie-breaker
7. Every team shall be ready to start the game up to 20 minutes early
8. At no time, shall teams bring any food or drinks onto the facility with the exception of a team water jug. NO
TEAM COOLERS. Teams caught bringing food or drinks into the grounds will be asked to leave the facility and
teams will be given a warning. If the same team violates the rule a second time, that team will forfeit that
game they are currently playing. We have a full operational concession at the facility.
9. At no time will a team be allowed to forfeit unless they are unable to field 8 players.
10. We will do everything in our power to get fields ready for games as quickly as possible in case of inclement
weather. We reserve the right to alter the tournament format if needed.
11. In case of tie games after time limit or 6 innings, each team will start with a runner on 2 nd and 3rd with 1 out.
Every game will play this way except the championship game. NO TIES in any game
12. If the games are running behind on Saturday we will shorten game lengths to get back on schedule.
FACILITY RULES
PLEASE PARK AT THE BOTTOM PARKING LOT ON SATURDAY. USE THE PARKING LOT NEXT DOOR FOR
OVERFLOW PARKING AND FOR PARKING AFTER 12PM ON SUNDAY. THERE IS A WEDDING RECEPTION THAT
WILL BE USING THE BOTTOM PARKING LOT AT 12PM ON SUNDAY.
