St Patricks
Missionary Society
Marriage Preparation Services
Statement from Bishop Dennis Brennan
The Appeal to support
St Patricks Missionary society will
take place in our parish this
weekend of
May 16th - 17th May
I deeply regret the decision of the Government to withdraw funding for Accord Marriage preparation Courses.
In addition to marriage preparation courses, Accord
provides marriage and relationship counselling services
throughout the country.
The demand for these services has increased substantially in recent years. I would urge the Government to
reconsider this very sudden and unexpected decision
which will have long term consequences for
Irish society.
The Diocese of Ferns renews its solidarity with the many
competent and well trained professional volunteers who
have served the people of county Wexford, South Wicklow and surrounding counties for over fifty years.
The Diocese will continue to work with Family Life Service
Wexford to ensure the continued presence and
commitment of Accord as the impact of this decision
becomes increasingly apparent and is felt locally.
The Mission Appeal which
Father Joe Rabbitt
will coordinate and asks for your
continued support for the Society’s missionary works, through
enrolling in
Mission Circle, subscribing to
“Africa” magazine or
supporting other initiatives.
Through this visit we wish to recall how missionary work is central to our faith and thank you
for your generous support in the
past.

Responding to Nepal.
At 8pm on Thursday 28th May, the people of the Diocese of
Ferns are invited to a night of music and singing at Wexford
Opera House, in a concert organised as a fundraiser for Nepal. Featured are great Irish artists, Eleanor McEvoy, Aileen
Donohue and The Celtic Tenors. This concert is brought about
as a result of 8 Wexford people - including Riverchapel Parish
Priest Fr. Tom Dalton - who were caught up in the recent
devastating earthquake in Nepal. After their experience they
were motivated to fundraise for the people of Nepal. All proceeds will go directly to Trocaire's teams on the ground in
Nepal. Tickets can be got at www.wexfordoperahouse.ie or
call the Booking Office at 0539122144.

The First Holy Communion Ceremony for
Ramsgrange Parish will take place on
Saturday 23rd of May at 11.00am
This a special time for the parish community.
A child’s faith journey begins the day a child is
brought to the Church to be baptised.
And what a special day that is for families.
Now, that child has grown, they are about to
take another step in their faith journey.
The boys and girls have spent the past year
preparing, with the help of the teachers at
school, their parents at home and the parish
with the special preparation programme Do This In Memory Of Me, learning about
Jesus their good Shepherd and their friend.
We ask the Lord’s Blessings on this special day
for the children of our Parish as they receive
The Sacrament of First Holy Communion
For booking and further information Please
call 052 6122455 or 052 26121454.
