Cap & gown distribution is Friday, May 29, 5:15 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.—RHS Café to Graduates or their parents only. If you have not ordered yet—order online immediately—website: www.migrads.com REHEARSAL is MANDATORY for GRADUATES Tuesday, June 2, 2015— 10:00 a.m. -@ Bethesda, 14000 Metro Pkwy—SE corner of Schoenherr/16 Mile. Graduates will be assigned their marching positions and receive their tickets. Students should dress casually/comfortably for rehearsal. Parents are not required to attend rehearsal. Rehearsal will last approximately 2 hours. Graduates, be on time—report for rehearsal by 9:45 a.m.! ABSOLUTELY NO FOOD OR DRINK allowed at rehearsal. TICKETS Graduates will receive five (5) tickets at rehearsal. THERE ARE NO EXTRA TICKETS AVAILABLE. There is no waiting list for additional tickets. All adults, students, and children attending must have a ticket, (babies held on laps will not require a ticket). Space is limited; strollers are not permitted in the Auditorium. You may, however, safely park them near the entrance doors in the lobby. Graduates DO NOT need a ticket to enter Commencement. WEARING THE PROPER ATTIRE TO COMMENCEMENT Commencement is a formal occasion for both the graduate and guests. Please dress accordingly. Suggested formal attire for graduates: Men: White shirt and tie, dark shoes—a jacket is not recommended under the gown. Women: White or light colored dress and light colored, low-heeled shoes. Casual footwear such as flip-flops should NOT be worn. WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW THE EVENING OF COMMENCEMENT GRADUATES—PERSONAL BELONGINGS Graduates report to the Crystal Room @ Bethesda by 6:15 p.m. Bring ONLY your cap & gown—leave personal belongings in your car or with your guests (coat/purse/camera, etc.). There is no secure location for personal items. GUESTS Commencement is a formal occasion, please dress accordingly—NO FOOD or DRINKS allowed. Guests must enter through the Main Entrance—UNDER THE CANOPY. Each person must have a ticket—seating is first come/first serve. As the hall fills, saving seats is not permitted. All guests must be seated by 6:45 p.m. to avoid missing the Procession—No entry during the Procession. HANDICAPPED PARKING & SEATING Limited Handicapped parking and seating will be available. Please arrive early for easy access to handicapped areas, as seating is limited and will fill up very quickly after the doors open at 6:00 p.m. Plan to arrive early! PARKING Several parking areas are available on Bethesda grounds, first come/first served. Enter the Bethesda parking areas from northbound Schoenherr—no entry from Metro Parkway (16 Mile Road). If Bethesda is at capacity, cars will be re-routed to Freedom Hill, which is a considerable, unpaved walk. No shuttle is available. PHOTOS As a safety precaution and as a courtesy, guests should remain seated during the ceremony. A professional photographer will be onsite taking photos of students as they receive their diploma on stage. DIPLOMAS After the ceremony—graduates will proceed to the Crystal Room to receive their diploma. All guests will be directed to wait outside the building for their graduate to exit. Please plan accordingly. ALL students MUST have a signed permission slip prior to purchasing a ticket. Permission slips are available in the Athletic Office. No tickets will be sold at the party. Entry to the party includes food, games, prizes, dancing, karaoke, and a chance to be together as a class one last time. Parents, if you are planning on volunteering, please contact the coordinators listed below. Students will be required to show ID to enter and must park in the SOUTH/STAFF LOT. Parents are asked to monitor vehicles for appropriate language, appropriate symbols, items, etc. Obscenities or vulgarities, demeaning statements, along with any reference to alcohol or drugs, WILL NOT be permitted on the campus. Please do not call to request additional tickets, we do not have extra tickets; there is no waiting list for tickets. If you desire additional tickets, we suggest the you talk to fellow graduates—many times families will not use all their tickets and are happy to pass them on.
