Terms and Conditions Reart & Etsy proudly introduce Reart 2015, an upcycle exhibition/book launch to inspire the reuse of second hand materials and the reduction of waste. Artists and designers globally are invited to enter the exhibition with artworks that relate to upcycling. Awards 1st Place $250 Etsy Voucher (more prizes coming) The winner of this award will be selected by the curatorial panel and will be announced on the 25 April at the M2 Gallery, 450 Elizabeth Street Surry Hills NSW 2010. PEOPLE’S CHOICE AWARD – $100 Etsy Voucher (more prizes coming) The winners of this award will be decided by the artworks with the highest number of votes cast by the attendees during the exhibition. The winners will be announced on the 25 April at the M2 Gallery, 450 Elizabeth Street Surry Hills NSW 2010. Artworks considered for the exhibition can be the following A sculpture, assemblage, collage or textile artwork created from a minimum of 70% second hand or waste materials; An object that you can use or wear created from a minimum of 70% second hand or waste materials. Artwork entry criteria Selection into the exhibition will be based on innovative use of waste materials or the upcycling of waste materials into the artwork. Three-dimensional works can be freestanding or wall mounted but if wall mounted not exceed 20kg. Eligibility Reart 2015 is open to all ages from anywhere in the world. Entry criteria Works previously exhibited in other prizes and exhibitions are eligible. All entries must be the original artwork of the exhibitor. It is anticipated that around 40 artworks will be selected for the exhibition. Decisions in regards to works selected for exhibition and final judging by the curatorial panel will be final and no correspondence will be entered into. Various sized plinths and tables for sculptural works will be supplied by the gallery, additional installation props can be supplied by the artists to accompany their work. Exhibition A selection of artworks will be chosen for exhibition at the M2 Gallery, 450 Elizabeth Street Surry Hills NSW 2010. The exhibition will officially open to the public on Wednesday 22 April to coincide with Earth Day 2015 and will continue until Tuesday 28 April 2015. There will be a book signing by author Nathan Devine on Saturday 25 April which will mark the official launch of Retrash, a coffee table book celebrating the upcycled work of 82 designers and artists from 20 countries around the world. Selecting and judging Artworks for the exhibition will be selected by the judging panel (see below). Reart Pty Ltd reserves the right to change the judges without notification to the artists. Artists selected for the exhibition will be notified by email by Wednesday 1 April 2015. A list of all successful applicants will be placed on the Reart.com website on Wednesday 1 April. Applications Applications can be made directly from the Retrash.com website. There is a limit of two artworks per artist that can be submitted. There is no entry fee to apply for the prize and exhibition. Entry is by completion of the online application form. Each work submitted requires a high res JPEG image (minimum 300 dpi). De-installation Artworks selected for the exhibition must be picked up in person with photo ID or receipt of entry on Wednesday 29 April between 10.00am and 3.00pm. Works that are not collected by Wednesday 29 April will be disposed of immediately. Collection of works by other parties requires arrangement with the Curator prior to 29 April 2014. Security, liability and insurance Artists exhibit at their own risk. Insurance for the submitted works is the artist’s responsibility. Reart Pty Ltd and the M2 Gallery will exercise reasonable care with all works selected for exhibition, but will not be responsible for loss or damage to the work while in their custody, during transit or on exhibition. Copyright and photographs Artists own the copyright of their work and licence Reart Pty Ltd to use the submitted images and take photographs of the exhibition that can be used for the exhibition catalogue, publicity, press releases and other promotion in print or on the Reart.com website for the 2015 exhibition and future exhibitions. Interpretation of terms and conditions Application forms must be submitted by Monday 23 March 2015. In the event of a dispute regarding the interpretation of these terms and conditions, the decision of Reart Pty Ltd shall be binding on all parties. Delivery of artworks Signing of declaration Artists are responsible for the transportation of their works to and from the gallery. Selected artworks are to be delivered to M2 Gallery, 450 Elizabeth Street Surry Hills NSW 2010, Tuesday 21 April between 8.00am and 2.00pm. Works that are to hang must have suitable hook or feature to hang the work from. Works of art that contain 2 to 4 separate elements must be accompanied by instructions/ diagrams for display. The position of placement of artworks within the gallery is at the discretion of the Curator althoug it is advised that artists setup their own work. Sale of artworks All works in Reart 2015 may be for sale unless marked Not For Sale (NFS) and will be available through the exhibitors section of the Reart.com website (available from Wednesday 22 April). In submitting your application online at Reart. com, the artist acknowledges they have read, understood and accepted all the terms and conditions of this agreement.
