Directions to St Botolph’s-without-Aldersgate (EC1A 4EU)
from the Barbican
There are two routes:
The quick route over the walkways (shown above)
• Go to floor 2, signposted ‘Library’.
• There is a library on the left and a restaurant on the right. Turn right as if to the restaurant
and go past it and outside on to the walkway, signposted ‘Museum of London’.
• Keep following the signs to the Museum of London, as it is very close to St Botolph’s.
• The signs will direct you to turn right over ‘Gilbert Bridge’, then go along ‘The Postern’,
before continuing on to ’Alban Highwalk’.
• You reach a place with 2 restaurants, one on the right and one on the left. Turn right
along ‘Bastion Highwalk’. As you approach the Museum of London you can see St
Botolph’s (with a clock on the front) on your left below at street level. It is next to Pret-a Manger.
• Follow the walkway round a picture gallery on the outside of the Museum of London and
take the steps down to street level.
The longer route along the roads:
• Leave by the Silk Street exit - turn left on to Beech Street, turn left on to Aldersgate Street
and after about 350m the church is on the other side of the roundabout.
When you arrive:
• The church is opposite a street sign for ‘Aldersgate Street’. You can enter the church from
Aldersgate Street or go round the corner to enter from Postman’s Park.
