This cleanup will be held at various locations beginning March 21. Volunteers should

April 4 – Lay Lake at E. C. Gaston Steam Plant (Coosa River)
Volunteers will meet at Richey’s Resort located on E.C. Gaston Steam Plant at 7:00 am.
The cleanup will end at noon followed by a picnic lunch. The cleanup will target areas in
the vicinity of the plant.

Large item cleanup will be targeted during the prior week by USACE and APC. The
community cleanup will be held Saturday, August 8 at Rocky Branch Park off Highway
216 from 8:00 am to noon. A picnic lunch will follow the cleanup.

Volunteers should report to Tallapoosa River Outfitters off Highway 46 near Heflin for

Volunteers will assist in the creek and roadside removal of trash related items. There are

The in-water cleanup runs from Thursday the 17 through Friday the 18th, where
volunteers will pick up debris and litter from the creek. Each day will start at 8:00 am
and break for lunch at 11:00 am. The community shoreline cleanup will be Saturday,
September 19 from 8:00am to noon. Contact coordinator for site locations.
