To live on campus for the summer, students must be: a. Taking summer classes at Lenoir-Rhyne University (you must be taking classes to live on campus during Maymester) b. Working a job on campus c. Working a job in the Hickory Community 2. Priority for Summer Housing will be given first to students enrolled in summer classes. If space is available, then requests for summer housing by students working on campus will be assigned, and lastly if space is available, to students requesting summer housing because of employment in the area. 3. If you are requesting Summer Housing for Summer Classes, a copy of your Summer School Registration must be attached when your application is submitted. If you are requesting Summer Housing for employment reasons, Employment Verification must be attached to the Summer Housing Application at the time of submission. Employer verification is a signed letter from your summer employer on company letterhead with dates of your summer employment. Dates of Availability 1. Summer housing is available for students meeting the above requirements for Maymester starting May 18, 2015 through June 1, 2015. Housing for Summer School Session I starts June 3, 2015 and ends July 7, 2015. Housing for Summer School session II starts July 8, 2015 and ends August 10, 2015. Cost 1. Summer Housing costs are as follows. Charges for summer housing must be paid to the Business Office at the start of each Summer School Session. a. Double Room (room shared with a roommate) = $130/week* b. Single Room = $160/week* If a student takes 11 hours or more (normally 6-7 hours each term), s/he may reside in a semi-private room for free during the summer terms. If a student takes 8-10 hours (with at least one course each term), s/he may reside in a semi-private room for half of regular price. Upon availability, the student may request a private room for an additional up-charge. Single rooms are not guaranteed. Requests for a single room will only be granted if space is available. Availability of single rooms will be based on the number of students requesting summer housing. If space is available, single rooms will be assigned based on the date of the application. 3. Summer Housing will be in Conrad Residence Hall. Procedures 1. Complete a Summer Housing Application and return it to the Residence Life Office before April 17, 2015. After April 17, housing will still be available if Conrad is not at capacity. 2. Sign a Summer Housing Agreement when you return the Summer Housing Application. 3. In order to live on campus for the summer, students must meet one of the requirements above. Students not enrolled for both Summer Sessions can only live on campus during the Summer Session enrolled. 4. Students will need to move out of the Residence Halls at the close of Spring Semester 2015. There will be no interim housing or storage for personal belongings between the end of Spring Semester and the start of Summer School. 5. Students will need to move out of the Summer Residence Hall at the close of Summer School Session III. Interim housing and storage will not be provided between the end of summer school and the beginning of classes in fall 2015. 6. Students will be notified of approval of their Summer Housing Application by April 24, 2015 through campus email. Check-In / Check-Out Dates & Times 1. Students registered and approved for Summer Housing for Maymester may move into the Summer Residence Hall on Sunday, May 17, 2015 from 12:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m. 2. Students enrolled for ONLY Maymester will need to move out of Summer Housing by Tuesday, June 2, 2015 at 12:00 p.m. 3. Students enrolled for ONLY Summer Session I will be able to move into Summer Housing on Tuesday, June 2, 2015 from 12:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. 4. Students enrolled for ONLY Summer Session I will need to move out of Summer Housing by Wednesday, July 8, 2015 at 12:00 p.m. 5. Students enrolled for ONLY Summer Session II will be able to move into Summer Housing on Tuesday, July 7, 2015 from 12:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. 6. Final closing of the Summer Residence Hall will be on Tuesday, August 11, 2015 at 12:00 p.m.
