Gladwin Area Hockey Association (GAHA) Jack of Spades Progressive Raffle Our Progressive Raffle is a raffle held once a week for 12 weeks licensed by the State of Michigan. Contestants buy the raffle ticket
for a dollar from a GAHA rep, a venue sponsoring the raffle or The Rivertown Inn. We will draw one ticket on the night of the
drawing. The contestant drawn can choose a sealed envelope from a locked case which contains 1 of the 54 playing cards from a
standard deck of cards including both jokers.
If the contestant draws the Jack of Spades they win 70% of the total jackpot and the organization gets the remaining 30%, minus
expenses. If the Jack of Spades is not drawn, you will win the Stage Payout (please see House Rules for details). If the State
Gaming License runs out during the game, tickets will be sold and drawn the last night until someone draws the Jack of Spades and

A new deck of cards for each game started. Cards will be placed in security envelopes and sealed. In a public location, the full deck of 52 cards and 2 Jokers, are to be placed in sealed envelopes. Two of the chairpersons will sign the back of each envelope. All envelopes then will be mixed up and then they will be numbered 1 to 54. Once envelopes have been shuffled and numbered they will be posted in a locked display cabinet. ONLY chairpersons are key holders and will have access to the cabinet. No less than 3 chairpersons will place them in the locked cabinet at Rivertown Inn. Chairpersons are: Janelle Brown, Penny Schneider, Stephanie Staley, Shayne Wheeler, James Guzman, and Dee Jungman Tickets will be sold for $1.00 each. Drawing date will be each Tuesday, starting March 17, 2015 and ending Tuesday, June 2, 2015 (12 weeks) The purchaser holding the winning ticket will pick an envelope from the board. To win the jackpot, you must pull the Jack of Spades. If the Jack of Spades is not drawn, the pot rolls over to the next week. The pot will continue to build until the Jack of Spades is drawn; this could take up to 12 weeks. If you are not going to be present at the drawing and you do not have an envelope # on your stub, a number will be pulled from a bag containing all the envelope #’s for you. If the winning ticket holder picks the Jack of Spades, they will receive 70% of the pot. GAHA gets the other 30% less expenses. GAHA will withhold federal taxes of 25% from winnings where applicable. You will be required to provide proper identification and information, social security # and driver license #, for taxes. All tickets and monies will be accounted for by GAHA in accordance with all bureau requirements. If the State Gaming License runs out during the game, tickets will be sold and drawn the last night until someone draws the Jack of Spades and wins the current jackpot. Consolation prize mgmt subject to change for final week’s drawing if Jack of Spades still in play. If your ticket is drawn and you draw the pay card, you will receive the pay card prize and the prize for that stage ticket drawing. Example: $25 for getting your ticket drawn + $50 for the Joker of Spade= $75 (Stage 1) Tickets may be purchased at any sponsoring venue, from a GAHA rep or The Rivertown Inn. Ticket sales for the next week starts after the drawing at 8:00 p.m. Ticket sales will end on Tuesday at 7:00 p.m. After the drawing all ticket stubs will be discarded. Drawings will be held on Tuesday nights at 7:30 p.m. In case of emergency and the raffle cannot be held at the designated time the raffle will be held on the next scheduled raffle date following. Owners, employees and persons residing at their residence of The Rivertown Inn, any suppliers for the raffle, Envelope Signing Chairpersons are NOT eligible to purchase raffle tickets for the Jack of Spades drawing.
