Extended Learning Oportunity (E.L.O.) Block

Extended Learning Oportunity
(E.L.O.) Block
Rationale for E.L.O. Block
*Good schools focus on student learning. As part of our RBSS pyramid of
intervention program we are dedicating a block of time for students to receive extra
help during the instructional week.
Student will benefit from this block of time to…..
•
Write missed assignments, tests, re-tests
•
Receive extra help for concepts not yet mastered
•
Study independently.
How the ELO block will work.
On Monday, teachers will access a
data base and identify students that
they want to work with. It is
mandatory that students attend.
On Tuesday, students who have not
been “tagged” by a teacher, may
sign up with individual teachers to
work in their classes. Teachers
must give you permission to attend
their ELO class.
How ELO will work ……
Students not “tagged” by a teacher may
sign up for one of 5 study hall areas
Library, MP Room, Counseling /Career
Center, Mr. Braich’s room. Student must
sign up outside of the library Tuesday
at lunch.
On Wed. morning teachers in Block 2
will review their on-line registration to
remind students where they need to
attend on Thursday morning.
