“...slow tourism is about slowing down the rate of tourism
and a guarantee of rediscovering oneself; it is about low
greenhouse gas emissions and it is a synonym of patience,
peace of mind, deeper experiences, improved
cultural understanding and knowledge.”
Phillipe Callot - Slow Tourism

What is Slow Tourism?
You don’t have time to hurry !
“It was the cultural, geographic,
social and recreational diversity
Romania offers that attracted my
attention.
In the journey of experiencing all
this, stood with me my then tour
guide and today a friend.”
- Harsha, Switzerland/India
What is Slow Tourism?
Deeply rooted in the Slow Food
Movement, Slow tourism is the
designated name given to the
type of tourism allowing guests to
spend their free time and take to
the road liberated from the worries
and stress caused by today’s fastpaced way of life.
This type of tourism is based on a
long-term vision and good relations
with local communities having an
important focus on sustainability,
protection of biodiversity and
cultural conservation.
It also encourages physical and/or
mental involvment of the traveller
(alternative to passive tourism),
being per se an active way of
travelling, often looking for local
ways of transportation.

Bucharest
Transylvania
Bucharest
Romania’s capital is dynamic,
energetic and more than a
little bit funky.
It’s where still-unreconstructed
communism meets unbridled
capitalism; where the soporific
forces of the EU meet the passions
of the Balkans and Middle East.

Transylvania
Communism changed the face
of the city for good, and nowhere
is this more evident than at the
gargantuan Palace of Parliament,
the craziest and arguably crassest
tribute to dictatorial megalomania
you’ll ever see.

Linked by most of the travellers

experience the real Bucharest.
We had a brilliant guide who
brought the tour alive with his
passion for his home city. We
would recommend it to other families; it’s very safe with the majority
of the route through parks or on
designated cycle tracks.”
