Introduction
Persatuan Rugby Union Indonesia (PRUI) or Indonesian Rugby as it is known was established in May 2004 by a group
of seven friends and since that time the Union has successfully grown such that the Union is now recognised as a Full
Member of World Rugby and the Game has also been recognised as an Indonesian National Sport. Over the past
decade, well over US$600,000 has been raised via sponsorship and fund raising events to help develop and manage
Rugby Union in Indonesia.
In 2015, PRUI has put in place a revised Strategic Plan designed to direct the Union’s activities over the next four years
until December 2018, when Indonesian Rugby will host Rugby Sevens at the 2018 Asian Games, which will take place
in Jakarta. With this plan in mind, PRUI is looking for your company or institution to support Indonesian Rugby by
becoming one of the Union’s valuable sponsors for this great cause and to assist the Union in providing an opportunity
for Indonesian males and females to enjoy playing one of the world’s premiere sports.
Indonesian Rugby aims to target school children and higher education youths as these young people are seen as the
future stars of sports in this country, and also as potential future leaders of this emerging giant of a nation.
Those companies and institutions interested in sponsoring Indonesian Rugby in 2015 will also be encouraged to take a
look at the “PRUI 2015-18 Strategic Plan” which has five main target areas:

History of Hosting
Successful International
Tournaments
Indonesian Rugby will host the ‘2015 Asian Rugby
Championship (ARC) Division 3 East Tournament’ at the
University of Pelita Harapan (UPH) Stadium located at
Karawaci, West Jakarta.
Previously the Union successfully hosted the following tournaments at the UPH Stadium:



2008 HSBC Regional Tournament – participating nations were Indonesia, Cambodia & Lao
2010 HSBC Division 3 Tournament – participating nations were Indonesia, Iran, Pakistan & Guam
2011 HSBC Division 3 Tournament – participating nations were Indonesia, Pakistan, China & Guam
Please note that the major sponsor of the previous tournaments, namely ‘HSBC’ is not involved in 2015, and as
such PRUI can seek a new sponsor to fill this role.
The UPH Stadium has been rated by officials from Asian Rugby as one of the best Rugby Pitches in Asia and
Indonesian Rugby guarantees prospective sponsors the opportunity to have their brand name proudly
displayed within this arena.
This year Berita Satu Sports will be screening all three (3) scheduled matches live on TV and via online
streaming which will deliver ‘2015 ARC Division 3 East Tournament’ Sponsors a whole new degree of
advertising exposure beyond the UPH Stadium and onto TV, Smart Phones, Computers and other digital
devices.

Indonesian Rugby will host the ‘2015
Asian Rugby Championship (ARC) Division
3 East Tournament’ at the University of
Pelita Harapan (UPH) Stadium on June 713. The Indonesian National Team, known
as the Rhinos will be playing at home for
the first time since 2011 in front of an
anticipated crowd of 1,500.

The tournament schedule is as follows:

Wed June 10 – Guam v China
Sat June 13 – Indonesia v China
All three matches will be screened live on
Berita Satu Sports via TV and online
streaming. Berita Satu is a Media Partner
of Indonesian Rugby.

Festival’ for Indonesian children and
youths on Sunday June 7 and Saturday
June 13.
