As the Nazis hunt them down, a group of the last few Polish resistance fighters take to
the city’s sewers and try to make their way to safety. Wajda’s haunting and brilliant

DIRECTOR Andrzej Wajda

in the 1990s to the practice of forced marriage. When a bright 14-year-old village girl faces
the death sentence for killing the man who abducted and raped her, an empowered female
lawyer in Addis Ababa takes up her defence. A powerful, moving and vital piece of cinema.

SCREEN TEST Growing older, feeling younger has rarely seemed as bittersweet as it
does here. Josh and Cornelia, coasting, childless fortysomething New Yorkers, find their

hipster couple. Acutely observed and subtly acted, this is humour for those who prefer

DIRECTOR Wojciech Wójcik
SCREEN TEST Set in 1960s Łódź, this is a convincing portrait of Polish provincial life
in the communist era. Dr Hoffman is refused an exit visa but longs to see his wife and
