Effects of this medicine
This medicine lowers high blood pressure by selectively blocking α1 sympathetic receptors.
Usually, used for treatment of hypertension and hypertension caused by pheochromocytoma.
Before using this medicine, be sure to tell your doctor and pharmacist
z If you ever experienced any allergic reaction (itch, rash etc.) to any medicine.
If you have liver disorder.
z If you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
z If you are taking any other medicinal products. (Some medicines may interact to enhance or diminish medicinal effects.
Beware of over-the-counter medicines and dietary supplements as well as other prescription medicines.)

General dosage regimen: For adults, start with 0.5 mg of doxazosin once daily. If it is not effective enough, dosage may be
gradually increased to 1-4 mg of this medicine at intervals of 1-2 weeks, to be adjusted according to your disease, age and
symptoms. However, the maximum daily doses are 8 mg for hypertension and 16 mg for hypertension caused by
pheochromocytoma. Each tablet contains 2 mg of doxazosin. Strictly follow the instructions of your doctor/pharmacist.
If you missed a dose, take the missed dose as soon as possible. If it is almost time for the next dose, skip the missed dose
and continue your regular dosing schedule. DO NOT take double doses to make up for the missed dose.
If you took too much of the medicine (more than ordered), check with your doctor/pharmacist.
Do not stop taking the medicine without the instructions of your doctor.

Precautions while taking this medicine
z Dizziness or light-headed feeling may occur by declining blood pressure. Be aware of driving a car, working at heights, or
operating dangerous machinery.
z If you have cataract surgery, tell the medical institution staff about your taking the drug.
Possible adverse effects of this medicine
Common side effects are reported as below. If any of them occurs, check with your doctor/pharmacist: dizziness, light-headed
feeling, dizziness on standing up, headache, palpitation, hives, angioedema (swollen face/lips/throat), solar photosensitivity,
rash, itching, etc.
The symptoms described below are rarely seen as initial symptoms of the adverse effects indicated in brackets.
If any of these symptoms occur, stop taking this medicine and see your doctor immediately.
z dizziness, lassitude, loss of consciousness[syncope, loss of consciousness]
z irregular heart beat[arrhythmia]
z headache, nausea, transient loss of consciousness[cerebrovascular disorder]
z tightening of the chest, chest pain, cold sweat[angina pectoris]
z pain in the chest or the back, tightening of the chest, chilly hands[myocardial infarction]
