Goal 1: Create a city-sponsored task force to evaluate the operations of the San Antonio Convention and
Visitors Bureau in a public/private partnership
Goal 2: Support consistent and fair ad-valorem valuation practices
Goal 3: Support the Texas right-to-work statute
Goal 4: Provide integral leadership in the development of the Tri-centennial Celebration

Tommy Adkisson is well-known and regarded for his public service, but he is also a student of
history and he thoroughly enjoys sharing his extensive knowledge of Texas history and Bexar
County history, in particular, with his constituents, friends, and family. As Texans, native and
new, Tommy believes that we are the fortunate heirs to a very rich historical legacy. It is for us
to study and profit from history’s many lessons.
Tommy’s mission is to build a better community through quality service. As with all public service, he believes it is
the highest calling in a free society. Government by, for and of the people is one long ingrained in our American
experience and he truly believes that as we all work together we will build a better future for our city.

Mike Villarreal was born and raised in San Antonio by loving parents who worked hard to give
his brother and him the opportunity to get ahead – just as they had when they were young. His
father immigrated from Mexico as a boy, and when he was old enough, took classes to become
an AC repairman. He worked at Lackland Air Force Base and took on extra jobs in the evening
and on the weekends. His mother, a San Antonio native, earned a licensed vocational nurse
certificate and cared for seniors. Her second full-time job was running their modest household on E. Beverly Mae.
Mike is a graduate of Texas A&M and Harvard University. As the overwhelming underdog, he persevered to become
a state representative, winning by a single vote at the age of 27.
As Mayor, Mike will work to attract higher-paying, 21st century jobs and partner with industry and educators to
improve access to quality skills-training. Mike also will keep a tight grip on city spending and keep our property taxes
low.

Leticia San Miguel Van de Putte is a mother of six, grandmother, pharmacist, and small business
owner. For over twenty years, Leticia’s principled leadership in the legislature has reduced tests for
students, increased penalties on human traffickers, and ensured veterans receive college and
licensing credit for military training. For over thirty-five years, Leticia has been serving her
community as a pharmacist at the neighborhood pharmacy. She knows that a leader listens, sets
their sights on the future, but never forgets where they come from.
As Mayor, Leticia will focus on essential city services including streets, drainage, parks, public safety, and workforce
development. She will oppose any effort to raise property taxes and will hold the city budget within it’s means while
seeking opportunities to leverage and combine investments with public and private sector partners to continue
building our great American city one piece at a time.

Ivy R. Taylor was appointed to serve as Mayor of San Antonio on July 22, 2014. Mayor Taylor served as the District
2 City Council Representative from June 2009 to the time she was appointed as Mayor. Mayor
Taylor began her career working for the City of San Antonio and moved on to serve as Vice
President at Merced Housing Texas. She is currently a full-time lecturer at UTSA in the Public
Administration Department. During her tenure on the City Council and as Mayor, she has
remained focused on balanced growth throughout our city and targeted investment in areas
where opportunities have been limited. Mayor Taylor obtained a Master's Degree in City and
Regional Planning from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 1998. In 1992, she received a Bachelor's
Degree from Yale University. Mayor Taylor is a loving wife and mother.
As Mayor, Ivy will continue to improve San Antonio’s economic competitiveness and public infrastructure, ensure
that a smart and fiscally responsible government is at work, and continue to foster collaboration so that we act as one
San Antonio.
