THIS WEEK’S SECOND COLLECTION
ST. JOSEPH PANTRY SHELF
This week’s second collection is for the St. Joseph Pantry Shelf. This ministry of our parish
provides food for those who otherwise would go
hungry. Each month our pantry shelf assists
households in the Fortuna area who otherwise
would not have enough to eat. Our dedicated
staff makes all this happen. Your assistance in
this ministry is greatly appreciated. This ministry
is a wonderful way to follow our Catholic tradition of helping those less fortunate. Thank you
for your generosity.
KNIGHTS OF COLUMBUS
SCHOLARSHIPS
The Knights of Columbus 3103 Eel River Valley is
again offering $1,000 scholarships to Catholic Senior Students that live in the Eel River Valley. Applications can be picked up at the St. Joseph rectory in Fortuna. They must be post marked no later
than Monday April 20. For questions please call

NAPA VALLEY MEN’S CONFERENCE
Please join us on April 25th, 2015 at the 10th Annual Napa Valley Catholic Men's Conference. Our speakers this year will present on topics such as: The Social Reign of Christ the King
(Enthronement of your Home to the Sacred
Heart), Religious Liberty vs Religious Right, and
Political Correctness, Modernism and Islam....

CA 94558. Fortunately and unfortunately, given
the earthquake suffered in Napa last August, our
location became unavailable and we scrambled to
find space. The Baptist Church heard of our
plight and offered us the use of thier Gym, Kitchen and outside area for this years Conference. Next Year, we will to be at one of the Catholic Parishes in Napa. Because of the location,
we will be offering confessions only and no Mass
with the conference this year.
DAY OF RECOLLECTION
The Secular Discalced Carmelites invite you to join us for a Day of Recollection on Saturday, April 25 at Assumption Parish in Ferndale. Fr. Robert Barcelos, OCD, will be the retreat
master. The topic for the day will be Fire of
Love: Being Set Free by God’s Mercy. Bring a
brown bag lunch. Drinks and dessert will be provided. In the Carmelite tradition, we will spend
the day in silence beginning at 9:30 a.m. with
Morning Prayer. The retreat will end at 4:30 p.m.
with Evening Prayer. The Sacrament of Reconciliation will be available and Mass will be at Assumption at 5:00 p.m. Come spend some quiet

ADULT EDUCATION
CATECHISM OF THE CATHOLIC

We are interested in beginning an adult faith program in our parish. The topic will be a study of the
Catechism of the Catholic Church. The program
will be for six weeks in the beginning and will
continue longer if there is sufficient interest. If
you would like to volunteer to help facilitate the
