A living Rosary is starting here at St. Joseph Church and we are inviting you to take part.
What is a Living Rosary? It is a group of people sharing the
Rosary by meditating on one mystery -- which is one decade -of the Rosary. The Living Rosary is said for a specific intention
or a set of intentions.
When will it start? June 27, the feast day of Our Lady of
Perpetual Help.
What will be the intentions prayed for? In honor of the Year
of the Consecrated Life, vocations; in anticipation of the World
Meeting of Families, the sanctity of the family; our parish; our
country; and any personal intentions you would like to add.
for our
parish
How do I sign up for a Mystery? Contact Ali Arend at [email protected] or Sarah
Reinhard at [email protected].
More on the history behind the Living Rosary (and how St. Pope John Paul II was a part) can be
found at thelivingrosaryapostolate.com.

Saint of the Week:
Saint Ephrem of Syria Died: June 9, 373
Born: 306
Memorial: June 9
Canonized: Unknown
It is believed that Ephrem was the son of a pagan priest. At age 18, he was brought to
the faith by Saint James of Nisibis. He developed a great devotion to the Blessed Virgin
Mary. As a young man, Ephrem helped to evangelize Nisibis, Mesopotamia. He may have also attended the
Council of Nicaea in 325. In 363, Nisibis was ceded to Persia and a great persecution of Christians began.
Ephrem led an exodus of the faithful to Edessa. There he wrote many homilies, hymns and poetry and
helped introduce the use of hymns in public worship. He fought Gnosticism and Arianism through his
writings. He was proclaimed a Doctor of the Church in 1920.
