Wednesday, June 17 If you are not sure what it takes to Zumba 9 a.m. enthrone a home, this is a great way to find out. Sacred Heart Enthronement The enthronement takes place over eight days. It takes Open House 6 p.m.** about an hour or less each day. Thursday, June 18 Framed pictures are provided along with booklets and a DVD to guide you through each day of prayer. The first night, Sue and Mike Gill will lead you through the prayers and they will come back on the 8th day to complete the Friday, June 19 enthronement. All of your family is encouraged to take part by reading a section of prayer. Don’t be surprised if No Bible Study Zumba 9 a.m. your kids ask you when you all will pray again! A living Rosary is starting here at St. Joseph Church and we are inviting you to take part. for our parish What is a Living Rosary? It is a group of people sharing the Rosary by each meditating on one mystery, or one decade, of the Rosary. The Living Rosary is said for a specific intention or a set of intentions. When will it start? June 27, the feast day of Our Lady of Perpetual Help. What will be the intentions prayed for? In honor of the Year of the Consecrated Life, vocations; in anticipation of the World Meeting of Families, the sanctity of the family; our parish; our country; and any personal intentions you would like to add. Pat’s Retirement Celebration July 12 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the PAC. Beverages, brats and hot dogs will be provided. Side dishes and desserts are potluck. We are requesting families whose last name begins with: A through M to please bring a covered dish such as a salad, vegetable, pasta, etc. N through Z to please bring a dessert such as pie, cookies, brownies, cake, cupcakes, etc. Also, if you prefer adult beverages, you may BYOB. June 14, 2015 www.saintjosephplaincity.com Page 4 Saint of the Week: St. Albert Chmielowski Born: August 20, 1845 Died: December 25, 1916 Memorial: June 17 Canonized: November 12, 1989 Albert was born to a wealthy aristocratic family and was involved in politics from his youth. He was injured during a violent uprising and lost his leg. In Krakow, Poland he used his artistic abilities to make a living. He was also gentle and compassionate and felt called to help those in need. Finally, he left his art behind and devoted his life to working with the poorest of Krakow. He founded men’s and women’s orders called The Third Order of St. Francis, Servants of the Poor. In 1949, St. Pope John Paul II wrote a well received play about Albert. Late submittals will not be considered. Winners may re-apply each year. Up to 3 scholarships will be awarded by August 1. June 14, 2015 The Pregnancy Center of Union County’s baby bottle campaign is coming to an end. Please return your baby bottles with any donations enclosed to the PAC or church. Father’s Day, June 21, is the official collection day but there are boxes at the church and PAC to accept your donations today and throughout the week. We cleaned up! Thanks to all our spring cleaning helpers. We sanitized classrooms, sorted Fr.’s garage, scrubbed walls and windows, weeded, removed floor stains, and more. However, we didn’t get to everything we wanted to clean. We still need helpers to keep our parish buildings looking nice. Could you spare a couple of hours this summer? Please call the parish office to volunteer. For those who need service hours, this could be a convenient way to earn them!
