While Paul was waiting for them in Athens, he was deeply
distressed to see that the city was full of idols. 17So he argued in the
synagogue with the Jews and the devout persons, and also in the
marketplace every day with those who happened to be there. 18Also
some Epicurean and Stoic philosophers debated with him. Some said,
"What does this babbler want to say?" Others said, "He seems to be a
proclaimer of foreign divinities." (This was because he was telling the
good news about Jesus and the resurrection.) 19So they took him and
brought him to the Areopagus and asked him, "May we know what
this new teaching is that you are presenting? 20It sounds rather strange
to us, so we would like to know what it means." 21Now all the
Athenians and the foreigners living there would spend their time in
nothing but telling or hearing something new.

see how extremely religious you are in every way. 23For as I went

Lord of heaven and earth, does not live in shrines made by human

Welcome Everyone
Our Labyrinth: This morning, we’ll dedicate the Prayer Labyrinth,
constructed by Saint Luke member and Radnor High School senior
Jamie Webb for his Eagle Scout project. The Labyrinth is at the rear of
the grassy area, past the swings and the "ark." Come back and take a
walk sometime today.
The Ruth Circle meets Wednesday, June 10 at 6:45 p.m. in the
Council Room. RSVP to Marie at 610.889.1393. Women's Circles
meet monthly or fellowship, spiritual growth, and service. Contact the
church office for information.
Keeping In Touch: We’re preparing a new church directory. There are
first draft copies at the Welcome Center in the Narthex. Please take a
moment to look over your household’s listing sometime in the next
couple of weeks. Make any additions or corrections in the margin. The
finished product will be available later this month.
Nifty Fifty: The next luncheon and gathering will be Wednesday, June
17. We will be learning about Lutheran World Relief quilts and maybe
even helping tie a couple. Ron and Liz will provide a wonderful spring
fest of salads and desserts. Reservations are not required. Guests are
encouraged. Fun and fellowship are expected. Future dates are August
12 to hear about our youth and their summer adventures. November 11
to learn about fitness as we become less active and flexible. Singing
Christmas Carols on December 9.....See you on the 17th.
Equipping Everyone
Thursday Night Bible Study Kicks Off New Program. Our next
study topic - "How Lutherans Interpret the Bible" by Prof Mark Powell.
In this seven-session video series, Dr. Powell invites viewers to explore
seven important questions about Lutherans and the Bible. He presents a
varied range of interpretive tools that will help participants learn to
interpret scripture from a uniquely Lutheran perspective. Everyone’s
invited to join in the discussion starting June 11. Thursdays at 7:00
p.m.
VBS 2015, August 3-7: Get involved! There are a number of ways to
be a part of Vacation Bible School. Teaching or assisting in the
classroom, helping with registrations, the music program, recreation,
snacks, crafts – Contact Pastor Staniz [email protected]

Summer Food Drive: We begin a collection of food for the Great
Valley Food Cupboard this month. In addition to the usual nonperishable goods, they can use juice or juice boxes, cereal, crackers,
snack items, oatmeal, granola bars and honey at the moment.
“Shopping lists” are at the Welcome Center. If you’re able to provide
these for one of the 200 individuals served each month by the Food
Cupboard, please drop them off in the box outside Schlack Hall. The
GVFC is based in the Baptist Church of the Great Valley, just up the
road.
June 14 Is Catch-Up Sunday. Next Sunday, June 14, is the day to
catch up on your offering or pledge, or make an additional gift to help
alleviate our deficit as we head into the summer. When you leave
worship today you will find a special Catch–Up gift envelope on your
windshield. No car? Don’t worry! Extras are available. Have your
picture taken today and next week with a council member sporting a
Ketchup costume. Please pray that this effort, and the radical generosity
of all of our St. Luke community, allows us to continue our ministry
and our congregational commitments unabated.
First Ever Sly Ox 5K Run: Sunday June 21, Wilson Farm Park in
Chesterbrook, 8:00 a.m. 1-mile fun run, 8:30 a.m. 5K run starts. The
event is for EVERYBODY. Lace up your running shoes and join
in the fun! Support the trip to Appalachia Service Project and the
ELCA Youth Gathering in Detroit this summer! Register at

Feast Incarnate: Our next trip will be Tuesday, June 9. We need
salads, desserts (cookies, bars and brownies). Bring salads and desserts
to the kitchen by 1:00 p.m. on the 9th . We leave at 2:30 p.m. from St.
Luke and return about 7:00 p.m. For information, please call Elsie

Summer Choir begins Next Sunday. We sing easily-accessible
anthems and rehearse from 8:45 until 9:15, then sing at the single 9:30
service. Please join us.
Global Mission Host For A Day: The Global Mission team is looking
for Saint Luke members who would be interested in hosting two
visitors from Mikanjuni Lutheran Parish for one day when they are
with us in October 2015. Tasks will include driving guests to the local
activities on the itinerary and eating lunch with them. Tentative dates
for the visit are October 4-11, 2015. If interested in being a host for
these visitors, contact Nancy Shaw, team leader, at
[email protected], or sign up on your Connection Card.
Feeding THOUSANDS: Celebrating our 60th anniversary St. Luke
has committed to package a total of 60,000 meals during 2015. 10-12
people can package 2,000 meals in an hour. The ingredients for those
meals, along with everything needed for safe, clean packaging, can be
provided for $500 (yes, that's right: 25 cents per meal!). St. Luke will
be opening our doors to groups across our community. All that is
needed are people to package the meals and funds to provide the
ingredients and supplies. On Saturday, October 17, 2015 (the week of
World Food Day), volunteers will gather at St. Luke Lutheran Church
to package meals. Visit SaintLukeDevon.org and on the “Feeding
Thousands” article on the home page you will find the link to sign up
for a table (or assorted other volunteer jobs). If you know of groups
through school, scouts, or local business that you think would be
interested in participating please get them involved! We can provide
written materials to distribute (or just direct them to the website)!
Funds to cover the cost of ingredients and supplies ($500 per 2000
meals) must be raised and sent to St. Luke Lutheran church on or
before September 17.

Sip & Sample for Silver Springs – Martin Luther School will take
place on Wednesday, June 17, 6-8 pm at the Ardmore Farmers
Market. Guests will enjoy food and wine sampling. The evening is
sponsored by Suburban Square and brought to you by DiBruno
Brothers and the Ardmore Farmers Market. Proceeds will support
Silver Springs - Martin Luther School. Tickets are $35 and can be

iRock4Iraq: A Concert With A Cause: St. Martin's Church in Radnor
warmly invites St. Lukans to attend a benefit concert to support
Christians in Iraq who have suffered displacement and persecution. St.
Martin's goal is to raise $10,000 for food, medical supplies, and shelter.
The concert takes place at St. Martin's, 400 King of Prussia Road, on
Saturday, June 13 from 4:00-8:00 p.m. Musical guests include The
Derek Anthony, Bickel Brothers, Leigh Goldstein, The Primaries, Moe
Cadet, Mere Fate, and No Signal. Tickets are $20 pre-sale on the
website and $25 at the door. $15 for students. For more information
