GT800™. It complements the desktop portfolio and allows
for a mixed printer estate – especially when a larger
ribbon roll, moveable sensor or 300dpi print quality is a

HOW WILL IT WORK ALONGSIDE
MY OLDER ZEBRA THERMAL
TRANSFER DESKTOP PRINTERS?
The new GT800™ printers have a dual resident command
language that offers seamless integration into existing
installations. With this capability you can choose to swap
your older EPL2 or ZPL based desktop printers or add the
new GT800™ printers to your current estate.
Always recommend genuine Zebra supplies due to potential quality issues with non-Zebra ribbon and
media. Poor quality ribbon could shorten printhead life and impact print quality.

SURELY FEATURES LIKE THESE
ARE EXPENSIVE?
No. The moveable sensor is now a standard feature
and the precision cutter and 300dpi print quality are
now available as options on these lower-priced GT800™
printers. This means the overall cost is considerably
lower compared to other like-for-like configurations.
WHAT IS THE MOVEABLE SENSOR?
The moveable sensor on the GT800™ can be positioned
at any place across the width of the printer to detect
various registration marks; black line, inter-label gaps,
notches or die-cut holes, so it means a wider range of
both genuine Zebra media and non-Zebra media can be
used in the printer.
I USE FAN-FOLD MEDIA SO HOW
CAN THE NEW GT800™ HELP ME?
I NEED BOTH DIRECT THERMAL AND
THERMAL TRANSFER PRINTERS.
HOW WILL THE GT800™ HELP?
The GT800™ can be used with or without a ribbon to
achieve both direct thermal and thermal transfer modes of
operation. The required mode can be set within the print
driver, label design application or via the programming
language depending on how you prefer to control it.
AM I GOING TO LOSE OUT BECAUSE
I HAVE A LOT OF RIBBON FOR
ANOTHER DESKTOP PRINTER?
Not at all. Third-party ribbon with a 1-inch (25mm) core
can be used with the ribbon core adapters that we ship
with every GT800™ printer.
The printer supports the use of externally fed media
through the letterbox aperture at the rear of the printer
so you can continue to use fan-fold media.
