FrancoAmerican musical theatre company AMT Live will present
Next Thing You Know
as part of the Paris premiere “OffBroadway à Paris” performance series, following the critically acclaimed Paris productions of
Edges
and
The Last Five Years
. This will be the debut of the work of
Joshua Salzman (music) and Ryan Cunningham’s (book and lyrics)
work in France. They are the creators of
I Love You Because
and recipients of the Jonathan Larson Award. Next Thing You Know
is the story of four New Yorkers as they laugh, love and drink their way through the big questions that face all young dreamers who wake up in the city that never sleeps. The Paris production of this contemporary musical blends New York cabaret style with British pub theatre at a sitespecific location: the underground Parisian pub theatre at The Highlander, located in Paris’ Latin Quarter steps away from the Seine. The cast features an international, Parisbased group of artists led by Tolgay Pekin (Turkey) and musical director Mathieu Becquerelle (France):
Lauren Berkman (USA), Frédéric Brodard (Switzerland), Quentin Bruno (France/USA), et Miranda Crispin (USA/France). The show is accompanied by a live fourpiece orchestra and will be performed in the original English language version. Known for producing the first OffBroadway style musicals in Paris and for hosting the city’s premiere musical theatre open mic soirée, AMT Live extends a familiar welcome to the audience by inviting the public to have a drink with the cast after the show. Doors open 45 minutes before show time. *
