MAY 2015
The 64th annual National Day of Prayer, May 7, 2015,
will have profound significance for our country. It is
an unprecedented opportunity to see the Lord’s
healing and renewing power made manifest as we call
on citizens to humbly come before His throne.
At this crucial time for our nation, we can do nothing
more important than pray. Thank you in advance for
making this spiritual discipline a personal priority and
for standing with us as we encourage others to
incorporate prayer in their lives. We look forward to
seeing His hand move across our land in exciting ways
each May in response to our petitions!
“Hear the cry and the prayer that your servant
is praying in your presence this day.”

“Thou visitest the earth, and waterest it: Thou greatly enrichest it with
the river of God, which is full of water: Thou preparest them corn,
when Thou hast so provided for it. Thou waterest the ridges thereof
abundantly: Thou settlest the furrows thereof: Thou makest it soft
with showers: Thou blessest the springing thereof.” Psalm 67:9-10
The psalmist repeats the reference “Thou.” All of life springs from
the “Thou” and “Thy’ and “Thine” of life, the Old English expression
for God. We especially see it in the spring of the year: gardens are
plowed up and planted. The power of regeneration is witnessed everywhere. As believers, we see spiritual applications.
Most of you have heard preachers and Bible teachers refer to the
laws of the harvest. Many of you have taught these truths yourself:

only what you sow.
the same kind of seed that you sow.
later than you sow.
much more than you sow.
in the same proportion as you sow.
only if you persevere to harvest time.
what is sown with a perennial affect.
If you sow good seed, you get good seed in return and it is in more
abundance. If you sow in abundance, you get more abundance.
Gospel seed is all perennial in affect because it is eternal. There are
no annuals when you plant the Gospel seed. Annuals are for the
carnal world: here for a season and gone forever.
The spring and summer are great times to sow the Gospel seed in
spring revivals, family life conferences, Vacation Bible Schools,
camps, youth outreaches, Backyard Bible Clubs and mission trips.
In proportion to the seed so comes the blessing! As a city boy that
spent weekends on the farm, I was always amazed at harvest time.
We will be amazed at the acts of God in our churches when we
faithfully sow the Gospel seed widely so that every creature can have
access to the good seed. The truth is, when we do prayerful evangelism and careful discipleship, we have higher water bills [baptisms]
and the Lord adds to His churches and multiplies His workers.
There is no one like Him!

righteousness upon you.” Hosea 10:12

ATTENTION VBS DIRECTORS
Please send us the dates and times of your VBS and the theme you
will be using. We would like to publish the dates of the upcoming
Vacation Bible Schools in the June newsletter. This will allow us to
pray for each church as they reach out to the children and their
families in their community. It will also allow some of the smaller
churches that may have scheduled their VBS at a later date to contact
the larger churches about borrowing their materials. You may call the
office at 828-245-2613, or email us at [email protected].
