Dr. Oguchi is an internist and a cardiologist. He graduated from Tokyo Medical University. His postgraduate education included a residency of internal medicine at NTT medical center in Tokyo and a subspecialty of cardiology at Jichi Medical University in Tochigi. Then he served as a university lecturer, assistant professor in the division of cardiology. He has been qualified as a Fellow of Japanese Society of Internal Medicine (FJSIM) for more than twenty years and a board certified member of Japanese Circulation Society. He is also a member of American College of Physician. Dr. Oguchi was awarded the grant-in-aid from Japan Heart Foundation in 1992 that allowed him to join the laboratory of Dr. Russell M. Medford at Emory University School of Medicine in Atlanta, Georgia to study vascular biology as a postdoctoral fellow/visiting research scientist for two years. After leaving Jichi Medical University, he served as a director of the department of internal medicine at the Yokohama General Hospital and a key cardiologist at the center for preventive medicine in St. luke’s International Hospital in Tokyo. Recently, Dr. Oguchi has founded the medical corporation and clinic for home care in Yokohama City to take care of patients who suffer from physical difficulties or cancers at terminal stage. Dr. Oguchi’s clinical practices allowed many patients to stay in their familiar houses and complete their own life. His most interests are home care and palliative medicine along with life style mediated diseases such as hypertension, hyperlipidemia, diabetes mellitus, obesity and atherosclerosis.
