Since 1965, when the first polo field was founded, this sport has
become the hallmark of Sotogrande.
The most iconic tournaments of the Club were created in the early
70´s: the Gold Cup, in 1971, and the Silver Cup, in 1973.
The opening of the Rio Sotogrande (1986), Puente de Hierro
(1992) and Los Pinos (2007) playing areas turned the Club into
one of the best polo clubs worldwide.

PLEASE NOTE
All players must be federated with the Spanish/Andalusian Polo Federation to play at Santa
María Polo Club. This will provide sports insurance which will cover players for a 10 day
period. If a player requires a longer licence there in an annual option (applies from date till
31st Dec of that year).
Class and chucker times depend on subject availability.
The club has the right to change class times in the event of unfavorable weather conditions.
If this does occur the club will contact players beforehand.
Helmets, boots, knee pads and gloves must be provided by the players.
Players will also need to bring their passport or Spanish ID card on their first day and will
be required to sign a club admin form.
VAT/ IVA fees 21% are included in the above prices.
