Welcome - Sapphire Coast Anglican Parish

ABM Weekly Reflections
The Sixth Sunday of Easter – Sunday 10 May 2015
Acts 10.44-48; Psalm 98; 1 John 5.1-12; John 15.9-17 or John 16.16-24
The Reading from Acts captures a moment when the circle of faith was widened. Yet
almost in tension with this is the Epistle where we have a blunt dichotomy, those who have
the Son have life, those who do not, don’t have life. In the end it is apparently that simple.
Pray for a widening of the circle of faith and for a widening of whom we love.
Pray for the Church of North India, giving thanks for the work they do to further God’s
mission in the world.

A Mother’s Day Prayer
Loving God,
we thank you for the love
of the mothers you have given us,
whose love is so precious
that it can never be measured,
whose patience seems to have no end.
May we see your loving hand
behind them and guiding them.
We pray for those mothers
who fear they will run out of love
or time, or patience.
We ask you to bless them
with your own special love.
We ask this in the name of Jesus, Amen.

‘Friends of Holy Trinity, Kameruka’
The Friends of Holy Trinity Kameruka met for their inaugural meeting at the Church on
Tuesday 28th April. There was unanimous agreement that we form the group. The group
recognizes the need to ensure that the Church is maintained and preserved for the years to
come. A letter was read from Mr & Mrs Frank Foster the last family owners of the property.
Mr Foster expressed his great love of the Church and complemented those involved in
starting “Friends of Holy Trinity”. Mr & Mrs Foster were invited to be our founding Patrons
to which they agreed wholeheartedly. We now need to expand our ‘membership’ far and
wide and somehow capture all those people who want to see the Church survive. We will do
this through various mediums, web site, facebook, press and radio. We will seek goodwill
from the press for maximum exposure. All parishioners of the various Churches within our
Parish are invited to join. No money, no work just a desire and determination to see the
Church survive. We are planning a number of events especially 2018 when we
commemorate the end of WW1 and remember those who served. 2019 will be the 150 th
anniversary of the building of the Church and we are planning for the occasion already.
We intend to have an occasional newsletter to keep everyone informed as to what is being
done and plans we have for events such as musical evenings.
To be a part of this history creating endeavor please telephone Sandy Macqueen
0408979759 or email [email protected] for an information pack to be sent to you.
We look forward to hearing from you.

Dear God, if one day I lose my hope and
purpose, give me confidence that your
destiny is better than anything I ever
dreamed
We have some very sad news for the
Parish family: John King died early on
Wednesday morning. He has been ill
for some time, so his death was not
unexpected.
Those who served with him on PC will
recall what a strong leader he was.
He was our Synod rep for some years
too. He was a great mentor and
strength to our Clergy.
Funeral arrangements will be advised
when known.
Please keep Gail and the family in your
prayers.
Happy Anniversary
On Wednesday
Congratulations

Coffee Corner
An employee approached his boss regarding a
dispute on his pay-check…
Employee – Sir, this is $100 less than my salary.
Boss – I know. But last month, when you were
overpaid $100, by mistake, you didn’t complain!
Employee – Well, I don’t mind an occasional
mistake, sir, but it seems to be becoming a habit,
now!

It was during a heat wave in August
one summer when I saw this sign on
a telephone pole. “Garage sale this
Sunday 7AM until 100 degrees.”

but hearing laughter, hurried away."

“O” means only that she’s growing old,
“T” is for the tears she shed to save me,

“E” is for her eyes, with love-light shining,
“R” means right, and right she’ll always
