Assembly Information
1. Carefully attach the module to heat sink sandwiching appropriate thermal interface material (TIM) to adequately dissipate thermal power.
2. Refer to Application Guide (LED460) for detailed assembly information.
Safety Information
WARNING: ONLY QUALIFIED PERSONNEL SHOULD PERFORM INSTALLATION.
TO AVOID ELECTRICAL SHOCK OR COMPONENT DAMAGE, DISCONNECT POWER BEFORE ATTEMPTING INSTALLATION OF THE POWER SUPPLIES
AND/OR MODULES.
Failure to install the power supplies and/or LED modules in accordance with the National Electric Code (NEC), all applicable Federal, State and local
electric codes as well as the specific Underwriter’s Laboratories (UL) safety standards for the installation, location and application may cause serious
personal injury, death, property damage and/or product malfunction.
1. For safety reasons the LED light engine must not be operated if the housing is damaged.
2. The LED engine needs to be built into a luminaire.
3. Suitable only for operation with 120Vac input voltage.
4. Conducting paths on the circuit board must not be damaged or destroyed during installation.
5. The LED module itself and all its components may not be mechanically stressed.
6. It is highly recommended to use a thermal interface material (TIM). The TIM needs to enable adequate heat transfer, during installation it has to be taken
care not to create air inclusions between surfaces. For this purpose, it is recommended to use a heat sink with even and clean surfaces.
7. T he LED module should be mounted to a heat sink with M3 screws or suitable accessories. Maximum tightening torque for mounting screws need to be
observed as excessive force may damage the housing.
8. Protect against splashes!
9. D
amage by corrosion will not be honored as materials defect claim. PrevaLED Core is recommended for indoor use only (IP 20). It is the user's responsibility
to provide suitable protection against corrosive agents, such as moisture, condensation and other harmful elements.
10. T o avoid mechanical damage, the LED modules have to be attached securely to the intended mounting surface. It is recommended to avoid heavy vibration.
11. D
o not remove the cover or the safety glass from the LED module. Do not operate an LED module when the safety glass is broken, missing or cracked.
12. Installation of LED module needs to be made with regard to all applicable electrical and safety standards. Only qualified personnel should be allowed to
perform installation.
13. Pay attention not to exceed the maximum operation temperature of 90°C at the Tc point when the modules are used in an enclosed environment.
14. The design of the housing/luminaire should be according to the IP standards applicable for the intended application.
15. For maximum safe operation per UL, refer to Conditions of Acceptability (CoA).
16. Maximum operating temperature for warranty coverage is 90°C.
