Dear Junior Staff applicant,
Thank you for your interest in the Arlington Boys & Girls Club Junior Staff program.
Jr Staff are an important component to enhancing the Club experience for summer
camp participants. The Jr Staff program also offers many opportunities to enhance
your skills as a volunteer, learn job skills beneficial for future employment, and it
looks great on college applications! As a Jr Staff you will assist Boys & Girls Club staff
during summer camp hours, 8:30 am to 4:00pm. The Jr Staff program requires at
least a one week commitment and to attend a mandatory Junior Staff training June
12 (time TBD).
Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to:






Attending Jr Staff training programs
Boys & Girls Club Professional job shadow
Mentoring summer campers
Co-facilitating games with staff
Assisting in activity preparation and set-up
And much more!
Jr Staff Requirements:





Currently enrolled in Middle or High School
Boys & Girls Club member ($30 a year)
Complete Jr Staff application submitted to Rexanne by May 8, 2015
Complete an interview by May 20, 2015
If accepted:
o Availability for mandatory Jr Staff training June 12
 Time to be determined (will be in afternoon)
o Completed Summer Camp Packet
o Junior Staff attend summer camp at a discounted rate of $75 per week
(regularly $135) and the registration fee is waived. Payment for the first
week you are attending is due the Monday of your first work week.
The Jr Staff program is highly demanding and requires significant commitment and
dedication. Positions are limited. As such, we are not able to accept all applicants into
the program. Jr Staff will be selected based on the thoughtfulness and quality of their
written application, interview performance, and by the recommendations of references.

I understand that the Junior Staff program requires dedication and commitment.
Junior Staff are expected to attend camp daily on the weeks as assigned. As a part of
this program, Junior Staff are held to high behavioral standards. Junior Staff are
expected to be responsible, honest, show positive work ethic, maintain a positive
attitude, and follow all Boys & Girls Club policies. Participants who fail to meet these
standards may be asked to leave the program. Filing out this application does not
ensure acceptance into the program. Notifications of program acceptance will be made
via email by May 22.
