Make Some Noise! Visioning Process to be Held
April 16, 2015 – Community members representing important stakeholder groups have been invited to
help guide the conversation about the public library in South Burlington and to help determine the
actions that are needed to create our library of the 21st century.
The initial forum is the kick-off event for the South Burlington Library Board’s “SBLibrary: Make Some
Noise!” visioning process.
Through a visioning exercise, community members will have the opportunity to take a future-forward
stance to explore quality library experiences that will surpass what we are able to provide in today’s
facility. In the context of City Center planning and visioning, we aim to create a modern vision for the
changing needs and interests of our library patrons from ages 0 to 100.
The forum will be a one-time meeting on Tue. April 28 th, 5:00-8:00 pm. There will be an open forum
for the broader public on May 12, 2015 from 5:30 – 7:00pm at the Library. The Steering Committee
will gather the feedback and make a recommendation to the South Burlington City Council at the June
11th meeting.
This process which has been designed by a volunteer-led Steering Committee, will be facilitated by
Amy Howlett of Vermont Department of Libraries.
The South Burlington Community Library…a place where communication of ideas, enlightenment of its
citizens and personal enrichment can occur.
