Since then the program has had 8 straight winning seasons and has gone 231-179 averaging 29 wins a seasons while qualifying for 8 straight post seasons including 2012’s first season of competition in the NCAA DII and the GLVC and again in 2013 posting a 216 record in the GLVC. During the summer months Coach Combs is the assistant coach for the Akron Racers of the National Professional Fastpitch (NPF) and in 2014 was named NPF Coaching Staff of the Year. In 2014 Jewell finished the season 29-23 marking the programs 8th straight winning season. 2013 was the most successful season in program history posting a 32-15 record and 21-6 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference. Offensively set new program records in Homeruns with 53 (1.12 per game) which was 8 th in NCAA D2 and batting avg. with a .309 mark. Five players were named to the NCAA DII Great Lakes Valley All-Conference 1st team, three were named All-Region and Rachel Hayden was the programs first player named as a Daktronics AllAmerican Honorable Mention. In the 2011 Season the team set a new program record of 38 wins while hitting 45 Homeruns, 314 runs scored, 488 hits, 291 RBI and a .301 batting avg. The 2011 Cardinals pitching staff led the Conference in batters struck out 437 (7.52 per game) which ranked them 5th in the Country, ERA with 1.84 (19th in the Country) and opponents’ batting avg. .217 (20th in the Country) Eight Players have been named Academic All-Americans 45 players have been recognized as Scholar Athletes Six players have been named to the NCAA DII Great Lakes Valley All-Conference 1st team and three have been name 2nd team in just three years. 22 players were named to the HAAC All-Conference Teams from 2007-2011 In 2009 the Cardinals infield turned 25 double plays which ranked them in the top 10 at all collegiate levels. Defensively finished the season with a .953 fielding % including First Basemen Kristen Marshall that led the Nation in fielding % (.998) of players with 400 plus chances. Seven Players have been name to the NFCA Louisville Slugger All-Region Team and two to the Daktronics All-Region team.
