Hank Huisking Robert Yancey Unanimously Hank Huisking Robert Yancey Unanimously Principals’ Reports Sierra Vista CAS Report Stephen Huff made a correction to the enrollment number for the Pre-School, which has now reached 60 students. The Pre-School received a 4.5 rating in its most recent Quality First Evaluation, which is an improvement from its 2.5 rating from four years ago. CAS lost two staff members this month, and made one new hire. Mr. Huff is in the process of interviewing new teachers for the 2015-16 school year. Sierra Vista CAS is hoping to expand their Engineering Department to include an Aeronautical Engineering course and a Civil Engineering course for the upcoming school year. The high school prom is scheduled for May 9. Douglas CAS Report Marcela Munguia explained that the lower enrollment numbers this month were due primarily to families moving away. In an effort to avoid situations where parents drop their unregistered children off on the first day of school, Douglas CAS is working to produce ID cards for students. A round up of kindergarten is also planned to assess each student’s maturity level. Students from the high school participated in a town hall meeting which was featured in the Douglas Dispatch. The high school prom is scheduled for April 24. F. Executive Director’s Report Vada Phelps briefly discussed the continuing construction projects in Douglas. She also touched on the Department of Labor Fiscal Meeting that she attended the previous week in company with Michelle Huff, Vickie Simmons, and Kaylene York. CAS Board Meeting April 2015 Comments and Requests: Hank Huisking gave an update on City Council developments and city budget cuts that are taking place. ADJOURNMENT – The meeting was adjourned at 10:30am. The next meeting is scheduled for May 11, 2015 at 9:15am in Sierra Vista.
