Summer Camp Specialty Programs

Rising Sun Camp
Be part of our Rising Sun program where the
Scouts are part of the Rising Sun Troop for
the week and the camp provides the adult
leadership. A Scout may attend by himself,
with friends, or with his patrol and will
experience a week of Troop Camp as part of
the Rising Sun troop, participating in all the
programs that a troop does at summer camp.
Members of the Rising Sun troop are
welcome to return for more than one week of

experienced staff members to gain a

second half of the day is spent on

Trail to Eagle Camp
August 9-14
Bridge camp is a program for
Scouts who have just bridged over
from Webelos. During the day the
Scout will be involved with our
Brownsea "first year camper
program". At night he will be in a
campsite with other Scouts his age.
He will have a chance to work on
Totin' Chip, Fireman Chit, and
participate in all of the other camp
programs. He will also begin
working on his first merit badge.
Project C.O.P.E. incorporates a
series of outdoor challenges
designed to foster problem
solving and teamwork in a
group setting. Our extensive
challenge course includes low
course elements, high course
elements, plus climbing and
rappeling on our climbing tower.
Our field sports program
includes the opportunity to
earn merit badges in rifle,
shotgun and archery shooting.
Have fun tomahawk throwing
and shooting sling shots.
Scouts can earn NRA
certifications in rifle shooting
and NAA certifications in
archery.
Trail to Eagle Camp helps
motivated Scouts walk down the
trail to the Eagle Scout rank.
Programs designed to help
Scouts achieve required merit
badges are in place and District
Advancement Chairpersons are
available to provide counseling on
time management, Eagle Scout
projects, and the paperwork
required for the Eagle rank.
SPECIALTY CAMPS
Specialty camps are a provisional program
which means the camp provides the adult
leadership. These programs allow a scout to
focus on one specific area of interest. Activities
in these programs go above and beyond our
normal camp offerings.
Aquatics Camp
August 16-21
Splash into adventure at Lake
Arrowhead. Spend a week in
the water swimming, kayaking,
canoeing, rowing, paddling,
sailing, snorkeling and
lifesaving. Aquatics camp will
also include motor boating and
water skiing on Long Island
Sound.
Science Camp
August 16-21
Science camp supplements and uses
the STEM program. Local science
related field trips are taken to see and
practice Science, Technology,
Engineering and Mathematics.
Science with hands-on activities like
you never experienced within the four
walls of a typical classroom. The
entire camp is an outdoor learning
experience and the only thing missing
is YOU! Because of the popularity of
this program, early registration is
recommended.
