and the Arbitration Institute of the Stockholm Chamber of Commerce (SCC)
PROJECT NAME: “ISDS: A Way Forward”
DESCRIPTION: ISDS disputes are usually resolved through international arbitration, which is a wellestablished legal method for resolving cross-border conflicts. The international debate surrounding
investment protection and ISDS has been characterized by misconceptions and confusion. The aim of
this joint event is to explain the basis and functioning of ISDS and to take away the misconceptions
and confusion in public and political debate.
TARGET GROUPS: government officials responsible for negotiations of investment treaties and
involved in representing a state in dispute resolution proceedings, attorneys specializing in dispute
resolution, in-house counsel, civil servants in state investment’s policies, and investors in all kind of
businesses.
