Spring Brings Four Big Events to Library!
National Library Week, Inside Writing and Publishing, Money Smart Week and the annual Environmental Fair
will all be taking place in April and May at the Library. Come for fun and giveaways, broaden your knowledge
and imagination, learn new skills, consider new perspectives…and even shop!
Magical Possibilities @ Your Library is the theme of this year’s national library Week celebration! All ages
are invited to the kick-off event from Noon to 3 p.m., Sunday, April 12 in the Central Library Lobby,
Audiovisual area and second floor. A magic show, craft fair/flea market, magical movies and giveaways will all
be included. See details on page 2.
Enhance your writing skills and get valuable publishing tips during Inside Writing and Publishing. Workshops and
seminars, taught by authors and editors, begin April 15. See details on pages 2.
Donald Trump said “sometimes your best investments are the ones you don’t make.” Come to our Money
smart Week classes beginning Saturday, April 18 to learn about investments, home-buying, saving for
retirement, protecting yourself from identity theft and more. See details on page 2 and 3.
Co-sponsored by the Library and Village of Schaumburg’s Environmental Committee, the environmental Fair
on Saturday, May 2 welcomes all ages to have fun while learning more about caring for our planet. Visit
tables in the lobby, attend fascinating environmental programs and shop for plants or creative items made in
faraway lands. See a solar home in the Library’s parking lot. Visitors will also have the opportunity to bring
certain reusable items for a collection benefitting Habitat for Humanity. See details on page 3.
