Southport Boy's Basketball B team won their
bracket on Saturday, February 28th, going 2-0
with victories over Allapattah Flats and Dan
McCarty. Both wins were by a mere point and the
2nd of the two victories was sealed by a dramatic
last second free-throw made by Jakobi Davis in
triple overtime!
The Southport Girl's basketball team suffered two
slim losses in their games at Oak Hammock. The
young team played well though, and will have
many returning players. We also want to encourage all 6th and 7th grade ladies interested in
athletics to try out next year!

The Boy's A team also went undefeated in
their tournament and won their bracket in
similar dramatic fashion. Dominick Thompson
buried a long-range three pointer at the ending buzzer to defeat Manatee Academy 25-22,
which was followed by an absolute routing of
Dan McCarty Middle School, winning by nearly 30 points.
Both the Boy's A and B teams will be playing
in the championship bracket on Saturday,
March 21st at Central High School, so come
support your hurricane players!
