Cut: Medium length baseline with layering
SECTIONING
Create a profile parting, and use projecting lines to create a leaf shape at the top of the head
as shown in diagram. Heavily layered cuts require leaf shapes that extend into the nape and/or
sides. Less layered looks can limit the leaf shape to the top of the head only.
STEP-BY-STEP
Step ❶ Below the leaf shape, apply the Global Color from scalp to ends and isolate the
section with Sweet' Mèches.
Step ❷ Within the leaf shape, starting at the base of the leaf, use 1/8” slices, and create an
ombré mèche by applying the Global Color diagonally across the base of the slice, apply
Accent Color to the mid-lengths and ends, and isolate with Sweet' Mèches.
Step ❸ Continue applying ombré mèches, one slice branching off another, until the leaf pattern
is full of ombré mèches. Apply Global Color between slices.
Note:
On color-treated hair, determine tone compatibility (perform a light cleanse if necessary).
For hair that is pre-lightened, determine if pre-coloration is necessary.

REMOVAL & RINSING
Rinse thoroughly and towel dry.
Apply DIA Light 9.02/9NV to the ombré mèches, and process for 2-10 minutes.

Step ❸ Apply the Accent Color to the area closest to the scalp. Smudge colors together
where they meet.
