Senior Gift Check Presentation

For graduating seniors, their family and friends, faculty and
staff. No tickets.
The graduating Class of ’15 and their families gather
together to celebrate their class’ commitment to
philanthropy at the Senior Gift Check Presentation.

SATURDAY, JUNE 13
Baccalaureate
10:00 – 11:00 AM
Main Quadrangle
For all graduates, their guests and friends. No tickets
required, but seating is limited.
Take part in the festive celebration of thanksgiving and
inspiration for the future. A bookend to students’ Opening
Convocation held four years earlier, the Baccalaureate
service is a student-led commemoration under the
auspices of the Office for Religious Life. The service
features Vernon E. Jordan, Jr., a leading figure of the civil
rights movement and a former director of the United
Negro College Fund; music by Talisman A Cappella
and Stanford Taiko; and insights and reflections by a
Baccalaureate student speaker on the spiritual journey
traversed during college.
Procession begins at 9:30 AM, and the official ceremony
begins at 10:00 AM. The Commencement speaker is
Richard Engel, the chief foreign correspondent for
NBC News. President Hennessy will also address the
assemblage, and the Cuthbertson, Gores, and Dinkelspiel
awards will be presented. Degrees will be conferred but
no diplomas will be awarded at this ceremony. See the
Diploma ceremonies information below for diploma
distribution.
Diploma Ceremonies

Following the Commencement ceremony, Diploma
ceremonies begin at approximately 12:30 PM at various
campus locations. At these school and department
ceremonies, deans and department chairpersons present
diplomas to graduates. Many of the ceremonies are
followed by a brief reception.
Generally, no tickets are required to attend the diploma
ceremonies; however, some departments may require
tickets or reservations due to the limited capacity of a
venue. Please contact your school or department for further
details.

available on the Commencement website .
President’s Reception
3:00 – 5:00 PM
Lou Henry Hoover House
For all graduates and their guests. No tickets required.
Join President John L. Hennessy, Mrs. Andrea Hennessy,
and members of the faculty and administration for a
reception in the gardens of Hoover House. Shuttle service
will be available to and from the reception. Buses will
depart from Tresidder Memorial Union every 10 minutes
between 2:50 PM and 4:30 PM. Return trips from Hoover
House will depart every 10 minutes between 4:00 PM and
5:10 PM. There is no parking available at Hoover House.

During Commencement weekend, various campus
organizations conduct special celebrations for students,
their families, and friends. Tickets and reservations are

By appointment only. Tours at 10:00 AM and 2:00 PM.

The following suggestions may make the weekend more

• Dress for the heat; light clothing is advisable.
• Hats, visors, and sun block are recommended.
• Comfortable shoes are suggested as postCommencement events may be located some distance
from the Stadium.
• Open umbrellas are not permitted while seated during
the ceremonies.
Water locations:
• For Baccalaureate – Main Quadrangle
• For Commencement – Entrance to the Stadium
• You may also wish to bring your own water. Light
refreshments will be available for purchase in the
Stadium during the Commencement ceremony.
Stroller Check Area:
• No strollers are allowed in the seating areas of the
Stadium. Strollers parked in these areas will be
removed.
• A stroller check area will be provided for your
convenience near Gate 3 of the Stadium.
Security and Safety Advisory
• All bags may be subject to search at all entrances to the
events.
• No umbrellas or large items such as banners or posters
mounted on poles will be allowed.
• No amplification equipment such as bullhorns or
megaphones will be allowed.
• No alcohol is permitted at the ceremonies.
Coverage of the Ceremonies
Live Viewing: The main Commencement ceremony
will be webcast live and available for viewing on the
Commencement website after the event.
Live Radio: Baccalaureate and Commencement ceremonies
will be broadcast live on Stanford radio, KZSU 90.1 FM. Listen

Baccalaureate Parking
Commencement Parking
General Parking for graduates and their families is
in Lots 7 (Arboretum Grove), 9 (Lasuen Grove),
10 (Eucalyptus Grove) and Galvez Lot. Northbound
and Southbound El Camino Real traffic should enter
campus via Galvez Street and turn right onto
Arboretum to access Lots 7, 9, 10 and Galvez Lot.
General parking for graduates and families is on Roth
Way, Museum Way, and Lasuen Street.
Patrons with vehicles displaying Commencement
Special Parking permits or disabled plates, placards
or permits should park in the Oval.
Golf carts will be available at the top of the Oval
to take patrons with mobility difficulties to the Main
Quadrangle.

of Building 60.
