At Cine Gear 2015, Sony is demonstrating the expanded versatility of its large sensor F65, F55, F5, and FS7
4K cameras, including the F55/F5’s version 6 firmware, implementing Apple ProRes RGB for HD acquisition.
Sony’s professional line-up showcases the new PMW-PZ1 Memory Player and award winning BVM-X300 4K
OLED Master Monitor’s advanced High Dynamic Range capabilities. The BVM-X300 has a wide color gamut
and marries seamlessly with Sony’s professional cameras. Sony will feature side-by-side comparisons of SDR
and HDR. Sony's new tools for editing and media management, Catalyst Edit/Catalyst Prepare media
production suite, supporting multiple formats, including RAW, and XAVCTM will be demonstrated.
Complementing Sony’s technology exhibit are screenings of feature films shot on F65 and F55 motion picture
cameras: Monkey Kingdom, Disneynature's latest nature production. Tomorrowland, Disney's science fiction
mystery adventure will be presented in 4K, with an exclusive Q&A panel discussion with the filmmaking team
before the screening. The science fiction thriller EX MACHINA, with a Q&A session with Rob Hardy, BSC.

Disneynature Monkey Kingdom
Experience Monkey Kingdom, Disneynature’s latest True Life Adventure, combines narrative story
telling techniques with nature filmmaking to tell the story of Maya, a clever toque macaque, who
must adapt when her home is overrun by a neighboring troop of monkeys. The film’s cast of
characters also includes Kip, Maya’s newborn son; Raja, the troop’s alpha male; and a trio of
high status females called The Sisterhood. With voiceover narration by Tina Fey, these diverse
personalities interact within the complex social strata of macaque monkeys, and work together to
make the transition to a new home. Three years in the jungle and over 1,000 camera days.
This breathtaking story was shot on the Sony F65 and F55 motion picture cameras.

high-performance 4K, excellent color, wide dynamic range, in a minimalist, rig-less, ergonomic package optimized for Cinéma
Vérité type production. Award winning cinematographer Andrew Young takes a critical look at the camera and workflow.
Andrew Young is an acclaimed filmmaker and co-founder of Archipelago Films, a New York-based production company. His work
has received an Academy Award® nomination, two Emmy® Awards, seven Emmy® nominations, and five awards at the Sundance
Film Festival®, including the Grand Jury Prize.

A fresh approach to 35mm optics for Cinéma Vérité style production
Sony presents an original approach to 35mm optical systems design for still & motion picture shooting. With the DSLR revolution
came a dramatic increase of still photography lenses for motion picture production use. Widely established still photography lens
systems designs are highly optimized for still shooting, but frequently lack important features for motion picture production. With
the E-Mount, Sony launched a different approach to lens design that gives equal importance to motion picture production. Jon
Fauer, award-winning director and cinematographer, author of more than a dozen best-selling books on cinematography and
digital imaging, will discuss with session presenters Motoyuki Ohtake of Sony, and Richard Schleuning of Carl Zeiss.

The Speed of Sound with Agamemnon Andrianos
Agamemnon Andrianos is a five-time Emmy® nominee whose 30 years in the professional audio world includes work on features
such as Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home and James and the Giant Peach as well as on high-end television like The Wonder
Years, Nash Bridges, Desperate Housewives and most recently, Powers, Sony’s entry in the original streaming content realm.
Agamemnon will discuss the art and technology of professional audio production, exploring the challenges and systems
architecture spanning a career of more than 30 years in the industry.

Award winning cinematographer, Rob Hardy, BSC will discuss his latest feature film work, Alex Garland’s EX MACHINA,
produced by Scott Rudin & DNA Films. This is an interactive session inviting questions from the audience discussing film making
techniques from the production. His previous credits include Ralph Fiennes’ second feature The Invisible Woman starring Felicity
Jones, Kristin Scott Thomas and Ralph Fiennes as Charles Dickens; Broken directed by multi-award winning theatre director
Rufus Norris and starring Cillian Murphy & Tim Roth, and Shadow Dancer directed by Oscar® winner James Marsh and starring
Clive Owen and Andrea Riseborough.

Screening of EX MACHINA and Exclusive Q&A Discussion with Rob Hardy, BSC
EX MACHINA is a 2015 British science fiction thriller film written and directed by author and
screenwriter Alex Garland, making his directorial debut. The film stars Domhnall Gleeson, Alicia
Vikander and Oscar Isaac. Produced by Scott Rudin & DNA Films and being distributed by A24.
A young coder at the world’s largest internet company, wins a competition to spend a week at a
private retreat belonging to the reclusive CEO of the company. On arrival he learns that he must
participate in a bizarre experiment which involves interacting with the world’s first true artificial
intelligence, which comes in the form of a beautiful female robot named Ava.
