I had primary-progressive MS which means my level of disability has, and will continue to, significantly increase over time. Four years ago, my disability had progressed too far and my husband Ian had to quit his job to become my full-time carer. We struggled along at home the best we could, but last year my MS was the worst it had ever been. Ian worried that I would find myself in an emergency situation alone and with no-one to help me. I was only 43 when I was diagnosed, with two young children. I never imagined it would Linda with her husband Ian. leave me in a high support accommodation facility, away from everyone I love. Since October 2014, I’ve been living in one of the MS Society’s high-support accommodation facilities in Hamilton Hill. Here I have access to care support workers, physiotherapists and many other services. It is thanks to your generous donations that people living with MS like me, are able to receive the care and support they need. It could also lead us closer to a cure, and then families would no longer be torn apart by MS.
