The International
Companion
Animal Welfare
Conference
The ICAWC vision
The International Companion Animal Welfare
Conference (ICAWC) was developed by its
organisers with the belief in working towards
a world where no healthy companion animal
is destroyed for want of a caring home with
responsible owners.
ICAWC heads to Portugal!
For 2015, we are excited
to be visiting Portugal for
the first time.
Many of the presentations
appear on the programme
as a result of requests
made by you, both via
the feedback forms or by
email. We look forward to
meeting new delegates
and welcoming back old friends and can guarantee a full programme
covering all aspects of companion animal welfare.
ICAWC 2015 has limited spaces due to limited conference facilities,
so please ensure that you book your place early this year to avoid
disappointment.
EU Dog & Cat Alliance Meeting
The 2nd meeting of the EU Dog & Cat Alliance will be
held at ICAWC on Tuesday 6th October. The meeting

but organisations can find out more about joining
the Alliance for free on the website: http://www.

cultural district of Porto, only a short walk away from the city’s rich
heritage. We have negotiated a discounted rate for delegates but if
for any reason you would prefer to stay elsewhere, please email: helio.

The Organiser
Founded in 1891, Dogs Trust is the UK’s largest dog welfare charity, and now has 20 Rehoming Centres networked
throughout the UK and 1 in Ireland. Dogs Trust believes that no healthy dog should be destroyed and last year looked
after in excess of 16,000 Dogs. Our mission is “to work towards the day when all dogs can enjoy a happy life, free from
the threat of unnecessary destruction”. We work with like-minded European animal welfare charities: offering support,
advice, education, health and welfare programmes as well as grants.
