CREATURE FEATURES SUM M ER CAM P 2015
Dear Parent/Guardian,
We are so excited that you and your child will be joining us for Summer Camp at the San Diego
Zoo Safari Park! Your child is enrolled in a 5-day camp from 9:00 am to 11:00 am each day.
Campers, along with one of their favorite grown-ups, will enjoy play and interactive learning, mini Park
tours, up-close animal encounters, story books, and lots of hands-on activities to give your tot a fun
introduction to Summer Camp at the Safari Park. The following information will help you and your
camper prepare for the best time at Summer Camp:
This program is specifically designed for children ages 2-3. Proof of your child’s age is
required at check-in on M onday, all cam pers m ust be at least 2 years old by the first
day of their cam p session. Campers will not be able to stay at camp unless proof of age has
been received, so please bring your child’s birth certificate, passport, immunization record, or
other official proof of age document with you to check-in on Monday. Summer Camp staff will
verify age and return document to you immediately.
Each cam per m ust have one adult w ith them to accom pany them at cam p. (Exception:
Adults may bring up to two children as long as both children are ages 2-3 and both children were
pre-registered for the program). Sorry, no siblings under 2 are permitted.
PRIOR TO YOUR ARRIVAL: DOW NLOAD the release form and your Sum m er Cam p
ticket. Please complete the release form (the form can be found in your confirmation email, or it
can also be found online.) The Summer Camp ticket will be used for entry into both the Parking
Lot and the Safari Park main gate on the first day.
CHECK-IN INSTRUCTIONS:
8:45 am – 9:00 am : Sum m er Cam p Check-In
Meet at the log ring, located behind Guest Services.
9:00 am : Sum m er Cam p Begins
If you arrive late, please go to Guest Services and they will contact the counselor to arrange
for you to meet up with your group. It may take a few minutes to locate your counselor, so
it is best to be on time. We do not want you or your camper(s) to miss out on the fun in the
Park!

the first day of cam p.
ü Proof of age: Only needed on first day
ü Snacks
ü Reusable W ater Bottle: This is highly recom m ended to keep your camper(s)
comfortable.
WHAT TO WEAR:
ü Sunscreen
ü Hat/visor
ü Com fortable, closed toe shoes for you and your child(ren): Walking is a part of
the program, but strollers are OK. All paths are ADA accessible.
ü Shorts/Pants/Skirts/Dresses that are OK to get dirty
ü Safari Park Sum m er Cam p 2015 T-Shirt: Upon check in on the first day, your
child(ren) will receive a Summer Camp t-shirt. Campers must wear this year’s Summer
Camp shirt to camp every day. If you would like your camper to have more than one shirt,
or would like to purchase a shirt for yourself or a family member, additional t-shirts are
available for purchase at check-in on Monday for $15 each.
