It is our sincere pleasure to welcome you to
Munich, Germany for our second Advanced
Imaging for Transcatheter Aortic Valve
Implantation (TAVI) Course.
From the first case in a human in 2002 to
present, TAVI has evolved significantly, and
will become the standard of care for the
treatment of aortic stenosis in a subset of
patients. We have learned that meticulous
imaging assessment of the aortic valve
before, during, and after TAVI is pivotal for
a successful procedure.
Please contact the coordination
office for hotel requests.

Prolog
Advancement in the various imaging
modalities has been growing apace and in
conjunction with the TAVI procedure itself.
Keeping abreast of these imaging techniques is a necessity and a vital part of a
successful TAVI program.
Susheel Kodali, MD
Markus Kasel, MD
In addition to the didactic lectures, there will be hands-on sessions
where the attendees will have the opportunity to analyze both CT and
echo studies with the support of the faculty. This course will enhance
the attendees knowledge in the following areas:
° Basic principles and protocols for acquisition and analysis
of CT scans prior to TAVI
° Role of echo in pre-procedural screening as well as
intraprocedural guidance for TAVI
° Understanding of the challenges as well as tools available
for valve sizing
° Ability to manage complex scenarios with the aid of imaging
Thank you for joining us! We hope this meeting will become an annual
event, and that we can continue to provide you with valuable, up-todate information on TAVI imaging techniques and the procedure.
Sincerely,
Markus Kasel, MD
Susheel Kodali, MD
