HOW TO RESOLVE CONFLICTS IN A “C.A.L.M” FASHION
CLARIFY THE ISSUE
•
•
•
Think – minimize emotions by dissecting the problem
Answer questions that will clarify the conflict: What am I upset
about? What exactly am I feeling? How might I have contributed
to the problem? Where might the other person have been
“coming from”? Has this happened before or is it a first-time
occurrence?
Ignore NON-issues (overreactions on your part)
ADDRESS THE PROBLEM
•
•
•
Meet with the other person
Use a non-accusatory opening
Describe what happened, its impact, and how you feel
LISTEN TO THE OTHER SIDE
•
•
•
Be open to the other person’s concerns
Employ effective listening techniques
Be sure to listen if you are “the other person”
MANAGE YOUR WAY TO RESOLUTION
Gain agreement that a problem exists
Identify each other’s concerns and needs
Explore possible win-win solutions
Agree on a course of action
Determine how missteps will be handled
Close on a positive note

WELLNESS CORNER
WHAT IS WELLNESS?
W
ellness is defined as “an active process of becoming aware of and making choices towards a more
successful existence.”
Because living a “successful existence” means something different to each individual, wellness can be many
things, but it generally includes the pursuit of health, defined as “a state of complete physical, mental and
social well-being and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity” and working towards achieving one’s
full potential.
Your pathway to wellness can be:
•

•
Good health
Saving more money
Healthy relationships
Being good to yourself
Showing gratitude
Keeping good friends close
Taking care of your community
Eating one less cookie
Looking for a new job
Learning how to let go
Walking instead of driving
Playing with your pet
A day at the spa
Eating fresh fruit from your own garden

Connecting with others can help you to enjoy the times when you are alone.
Staying positive can improve your mood and your health.
If you quit smoking now, in 20 minutes your heart rate drops, and in 12 hours the carbon monoxide (a gas
that can be toxic) in your blood drops to normal.
Exercising in “spurts” can be just as effective as continuous exercise.
Helping others may help you experience less depression.
Drinking beverages with caffeine should be stopped 6-8 hours before bed to ensure a more restful sleep.
Creating joy and satisfaction can be easy with little things such as making a gourmet meal while listening
to your favorite music, treating yourself to a massage, or even taking a few moments to admire nature.
What you drink is just as important as what you eat.
Spirituality can give you a sense of purpose and meaning.
Writing down your problems can help shift your thinking about the issue and ultimately improve your
mood.
It is essential to choose a provider who understands the importance of the both of you working
collaboratively regarding your health care.
Stress management techniques are important because chronic (long-lasting) stress can change your
brain and the way you function.

"I AM PROUD OF MY CHILD"
C
hildren are the most precious gifts from God. Their achievements -- may
be small or big -- right from their childhood to any age brings immense
sense of pride and happiness to their parents. Parents
always like to see their children grow up in life and achieve great Success. Every
moment of joy, success, sadness, failure in Children's life has a equal bearing
on the Parents as it has on the children. One of Etech's employee Dusty Wade
too felt a sense of pride when her Son showed immense courage and quick
thinking that led to saving the life of one person. This incident certainly made
her say "I am Proud of My Child". The report about the incident that was published in a local daily is as below:
Parent ~ Dusty Wade (Nacogdoches Center Sales Leader)
RUSK, TX (KLTV) - Rusk High School freshman Blayke Holsome says he thought of his bus driver's family
during Tuesday's accident. "I knew him and his family and I said, ‘his family, they can't go through this.'"
Rusk ISD officials say the bus driver had a medical emergency while driving students to school. They say,
luckily, the bus was moving slowly in an apartment complex parking lot when the incident happened. "There
was a big boom! I didn't think anything of it at first," says 15-year-old Holsome. He then realized he had to
act quickly, "I ran to the front of the bus, put the bus in neutral, removed his leg from the pedal, and put it
into park."
"The bus in front of us was going crazy on the radio and I said, ‘Calm down.' And it got quiet and I just told
him, ‘The driver is down, we've hit another bus, and we need paramedics.'" No students were injured. After
everyone was off the bus, Holsome saw how serious the drivers condition was. "Somebody reached down
and touched his pulse and then it was like a big gasp and that moment for me, I was like, ok they've got to
hurry up." Rusk ISD Superintendent Dr. Scott Davis says the driver was taken to a Dallas hospital. "He's a
part of our team, he's a part of our family and so our hearts are definitely with he and his wife."
Davis says Tuesday's series of events was a miracle. He and his children almost drove Holsome to school this
morning, and there's another twist. "It was kind of strange because the bus that we had hit normally comes
in behind us," Holsome says. Holsome and Davis agree that those two things are no coincidence. Holsome
thanks God for helping him stay calm so he could help others.
Holsome credits his father for teaching him about cars. He says that's how he knew how to put the bus in
neutral and apply the parking break. The driver of the bus is still being treated at a Dallas hospital. Rusk ISD
officials are not releasing his name yet.
This article is very special and we wanted to share with the Etech employees. A week after the article was submitted; we learned
that the bus driver passed away. Please keep the bus driver’s family in your prayers.

TWC LEADER'S OUTING
I
t's been over six months since the whole TWC Team has
been working tirelessly to ensure no stones are left unturned to make it successful! After months of backbreaking hard work, a small break was due. And it came with a
big bang when the TWC Leadership team including members
of EMS and RTA supporting the campaign decided to spend
the weekend out. The destination was thoughtfully chosen as
a quiet resort located in the midst of serene valley of 'Haldighati'
The place is called Kumbhalgarh and is only a couple of hours
away from the heritage city of Udaipur. The two days weekend
included a visit to the surrounding hills, an enriching tour to the
Kumbhalgarh fort and relaxing time spent in the resort's swimming pool. The team came back re-energized and with a resolve to take the campaign to a much higher levels in the
months to come! Special Thanks goes to L&D and EMS team

WEDDINGS ALL THE WAY!
L
ooks like it’s raining weddings at Etech Gandhinagar. We had
2 weddings this season from our very own Etech Family.
Ruchira Patel, Recruitment Head and Lijoy Jose, SDM TWC tied the knot last month and the entire office was present to
shower their blessings on the newlywed couple. They had been
engaged for quite some time and last month it all turned official.
Not just those, Abhijeet Dhavale, Trainer, who had been recently promoted to the
designation, also got married with his already wedded - wife. Yes, you’ve heard it
right! Even though he has been married to her for more than 2 years on paper, the
rituals were performed in the traditional Indian style for the first time. Although it
was the second time that the couple was getting hitched, their excitement was
not less than a recently married one!
16
NAMASTE INDIA!
K
ent Hutchison, Corporate Trainer had visited
our Gandhinagar and Baroda centers to conduct a 3 day workshop on Coaching for our
Leaders last month. He had a gala time exploring the
heritage and the unique culture of both Ahmedabad
and Baroda. He enjoyed the religious show at the
Akshardham Temple in Ahmedabad. And in Baroda or the Banyan City (named after the abundant Banyan trees in the city), Kent visited the old
town area and the Sayaji Baug museum. After the extensive and remarkable Training, the Baroda leaders
spent a good time having a sumptuous Lunch with Kent Hutchison. We are pretty sure he took a lot of
memories on his way back home.
LUFKIN R&R CEREMONY
E
tech believes in appreciating the team members for their excellent work done by rewarding them in
Rewards and Recognition ceremony every month. R&R ceremony is a special way of honoring those
team members who stood out with their outstanding performance and it also motivates others to
perform well. R&R ceremony was held at the Lufkin center where team members were rewarded for their
excellent performance. Various games was also played at this time which were enjoyed by all the team
members.
17
R&R CELEBRATIONS
O
ur Gandhinagar and Baroda centers recognized the team
members from different campaigns and departments for
their excellent work in the monthly Rewards and Recognition ceremony. Getting rewarded before the entire centre holds
a special value for everyone and we ensure the appreciation and
celebrations doesn’t end with the ceremony or the certificates.
It is a reflection of our very own Etech culture for our
newly hired employees and a factor of motivation for those who
couldn’t be in the top performer’s list that month.
Fun and fame is what R&R is all about at Etech, isn’t it?
FUN AT TWC!
T
hey say work cannot be fun, but not at Etech! These smiling faces and a high energy at 5 in the morning tell us a different story. The game of Charades on the TWC Floor was not only fun but also
brought some creative skills to the fore! The winning team was cheered a great deal. At Etech, we
believe in bringing such fun elements to work all the time.
18
HOLI CELEBRATIONS!
H
oli or the festival of colors was celebrated with a lot of enthusiasm, fun and hues all over Etech
Gandhinagar. All the Etech employees wore traditional Indian clothes based on the region they
belong to.
And the sight was simply colorful and vivacious! We had employees dressed in traditional attires of Kolkatta,
Nagaland, Ahmedabad, Lucknow, and many other regions of India. A water balloon game was organized on
the day of the festival in the Etech Parking Lot.
Since the team members were working on the usually national holiday, we made sure that they get to enjoy
the festival if only in the least way possible!
REACQ IPAD CONTEST

MOVING ON TO NEWER HORIZONS
E
tech has experienced tremendous growth over the past few years. There have been times that we
have found ourselves in tough situations and the economy as a whole has continued to struggle.
However, through the continued efforts of each of our team members, we have been able to
persevere and continue to move forward as an organization. As a company experiences growth, so too will
dedicated individuals develop and flourish.
Please join me in congratulating KIMBRY THOMAS on her promotion
to the position of SALES COACH INTERN on the AT&T IPD Program! Kimbry joined Etech in 2010 as a member of the AT&T IPD Program. In her spare time, Kimbry enjoys fishing with her 4 teenagers,
watching scary movies, and going to all of her children’s sporting events.
Congratulations Kimbry on a well deserved promotion!

DeVry University campaign in Lufkin. She assisted students with questions and
information concerning DeVry University.
Sarai also spoke with the parents/guardians of high school seniors who were inquiring about the university. Sarai became a median between the admissions advisors and the prospective
students. She enjoys helping people make a difference in their lives by furthering their education. While
working with the DeVry campaign she earned over 25 certificates of recognition and volunteered for various
events and activities.
Sarai enjoys spending time with her husband and 4-year-old son whenever she can. She has a passion for
music, art, camping and fishing. She would like to go into international business in the future and teach others about going after their goals and achieving their dreams. She has always enjoyed meeting and working
with new people and loves giving back and being involved in the community. Sarai is excited and blessed to
have the opportunity to work with such a wonderful team that allows Etech all of its success.
It is with great pleasure to announce the promotion of DANNY (Dan) ENGLISH to the role of TRAINING INTERN in the Lufkin Center. Dan has been
