Three Important Points:
1. The abdominal muscles do very little work when you do a sit up.
Actually, in that exercise, they simply stabilize and lock the spine (backbone).
The rest of the sitting up comes from the Psoas Major muscles connecting the
top of your legs to the lower back. If they are overworked they go into chronic
spasm or hyper-tonicity and you end up with hips that tilt forward and a tummy
that protrudes. You also will end up eventually with a very painful low back.
Sit-ups are “definitely out.”
2. Studies prove that your nervous system causes more muscle fibers to
respond while you’re standing. Muscles pull harder and get fit faster when
exercise is done standing up. That means if you're doing crunches you're
doing a lot of hard work, but you're not getting the optimal benefit in the
shortest length of time.
3. While lying down you are using only half the length of muscle pull
capability. You’ll only get a result after much more time spent exercising. You
can’t take your spine and your abdominal muscles through a full range of
motion when you’re lying on your back because your movement is restricted
by the floor. If you want the best muscle response you must do it through the
full range of the muscle's motion, which you can do naturally while standing.
Naturally you want a slim small waist and a flat abdomen. You can
avoid working with weights in a gym and thereby avoid gaining a thicker waist.
With these exercises you’ll sculpt, tone and flatten your abs in three
easy 2-minute sessions a day. You can do these exercises almost anywhere
without equipment and at no cost.
The Abdominal Muscles (Rectus Abdominus in the front and
Transverse Abdominus on the front/sides) connect the pubic bone at the front
of the hip girdle to the lower ribs and the bottom of your “breastbone” (sternum
and zyphoid process.) Muscles are only capable of work by contracting. The
only work the abdominal muscles can do is pull the front of your pelvis closer
to your ribs and sternum. Ideally, that action occurs while you are standing,
because your muscles work most efficiently while you're on your feet.
You may have seen belly dancers, or dancers of India, or the swinging
hips of the women doing South Pacific Island dances, or the Western variation
done by women in (ahhemm) “gentlemen’s” clubs.
That was your unwitting introduction to doing the exercise that will tone
and slenderize your waist. Now I’ll teach you the moves of the dances that
drive men crazy (if you’re hot enough to handle it) and while you’re having so
much fun, you’ll be sculpting down to a small waist that makes everyone look
and envy three times, and perhaps remember you forever.
Stand before your bathroom mirror with your hands
placed on the countertop lightly for support. Place your
feet shoulder-width apart and lift your heels off the floor
less than an inch. Keep your knees bent. In this position
you have pivot points at ankles, knees and femur heads,
(where leg joins hip.) You’ll soon realize that doing this
you can rotate your hips and rock them front to back and
side-to-side freely.
In this exercise you will rock the hips and work the abdominal and back
muscles trimming to a beautiful, slender, strong waist.
Imagine a gold rod running from your navel to the mirror.
The navel is locked in position. You can raise your hips but
they can’t swing to the side. The navel stays right where it is as
you raise your right hip. Therefore, the only way to raise the
right hip is by contracting the abdominal muscles on the right
side.
Don't push your hip up with the strength of your legs. Be sure you aren't
swinging the hips to the side. Check again and be sure the knees are slightly
bent and the heels are off the floor so that they create a
“floating platform” upon which your pelvic girdle can rock
and rotate. This picture shows the knees bent properly.
Now reverse the motion and lower the right hip as
your raise the left. As the hip comes up, pull hard and feel
those abdominal muscles working..........................→ → →

Drop back to neutral position (where you started) and, while moving
slowly, thrust your hips forward. Don’t use the muscle in your backside to do
this. Be sure to...
Use the front abdominal muscles to tuck the hips up and
forward
as you see to our right ....................→ → →
Now try a ¼ angle to your right. The right hip lifts up and
thrusts forward toward the right-front. Return to neutral and then
the left hip thrusts forward toward the left-front.
Repeat each of these movements five or ten times resisting with your
back muscles so that you can feel the muscles working as you go through the
movements.
Press into your abdominal muscles with your fingertips
and feel them working as you see Kelly doing in the photo on
your left. Do this to be sure you can feel the mechanical action of
those abdominal muscles as you rock the pelvis. You'll probably
feel the muscles tire and then "burn" a little.
Next – watch your navel and be sure it hardly moves from
side to side as you rotate the hips in a circle. As you rotate, be
sure to pull hard and use those muscles.
Did you start going left toward the back and then to the right (counter
clockwise)?
That’s fine. Now do it in the clockwise direction......→ → →
After you have done a few of these, do them slower and
remember to pull with your back and abdominal muscles. Work for
the greatest contraction in each angle, resisting with the other
muscles in the pelvic and waist girdle. You'll feel all the muscles working hard
through the movement.
This is the “grind” movement that every erotic dancer knows so well, and is a
bit like a “crunch” standing up. You’ll find that perhaps SIX rotations in each
direction is all you can do before the muscles begin to burn. That’s enough for
the first few sessions. You’ll work up to more repetitions as you get stronger. If
you over-do these exercises you’ll be sore for a day or two later, so be careful
for the first few days.
Pay attention to your feet and legs. To get more out of this
exercise you may move your knees, a little like walking in
place. The heel rides up and down, the knees flex as the hips
rock. You'll get it as you practice.
If you eat right and do some regular exercise you’ll get even better waist
trimming results with two or three sessions of these exercises -- 2 or 3minutes per session; one in the morning, the second in the evening. Do
another mid-day if you so desire.
Try it and you'll be convinced. Get well coordinated with these movements
and use those muscles to pull hard. Soon, like Kelly, you’ll be swinging your
hips to music and working your waist into the most beautiful form you’ve ever
had. You’ll find that you’ll get the strong muscles you want quickly, and
without overbuilding a thicker waist as you would with crunches.
When you get much stronger do this with your knees very deeply bent and
toes pointed out at 45 degree angles. It's like crunching standing up and it's
extremely effective.
You’ll gain additional benefits. With a toned waist you’ll have a more stable
and healthy back with less susceptibility to misalignments and pain. You’ll
stand prettier and your bust will appear lifted and more youthful. Your pelvis
will be correctly aligned so that organs settle into it properly, which allows
them to operate optimally. You may even find menstrual cramps will be
reduced because your spine is more properly aligned thus removing pressure
from nerve roots that feed the uterus. Potentially then the uterus will be
healthier because tissues will receive optimal nerve function.

Well Ladies,
I’ll reveal a secret or two about
this guy. He's very unusual and very

“Take off your clothes and come out here!” I demanded.
He smiled and said I was crazy, but he slipped out of his t-shirt (I
least I got him that far -- his modesty is exasperating) and
stepped onto the deck. And then I posed him —and now you've
seen my better photos.
He’s still modest about these photos on the website, and I’m
still insisting the photos stay. I wish the light had been better. He
looks better than this. Even at his age he keeps up his exercise a
little every day just for a few minutes two or three times a day,
and staying muscular. (OK with me...I do it too!) – and he IS

Yes it's true I was fat and then I began to eat like you said I
should and this is a pic my friend took after 10 weeks eating real
foods, mostly brown rice, vegetables, chicken and fish. I feel
great. I'm not "starving" and wishing for sweets. I'm 28 years old
now and I have a son. I took 5 and a half inches off my waist.

advice. Over the past six weeks I have lost 18
pounds. My waist did measure 32 inches and now it's
25 1/2 inches and still getting smaller.
I had to change my thinking, and my eating and admit

I get surprise me! This is a life
style change and I do it for my
long term good health and well
being. It is not ego-motivated.
But of course I receive flattering
remarks and my husband is happy to
see my physical improvement and of
course finds me more attractive.
(He won't say so but his body
language and our private time
together speaks volumes. He would
never have taken a photo of me on
the beach like this a year ago.)
My weight is lower by between 20
and 22 pounds. My muscle strength
and flexibility is improving. (I
go to the gym to exercise and
study yoga.) My energy levels are
similar to what I experienced at age 25.
So long as I have control over what I eat, I’m never
hungry. I don’t experience blood sugar spikes and dips
any longer, and I don’t have the head aches that always
come with them.
When I’m frequently asked about the “diet” I’m on, my
response is that I’m not on a diet but rather that I’ve
made an eating lifestyle change. I eat real food!
When asked how much weight do I intend to lose or how
long I intend to diet, I tell friends that I expect to
eat this way forever and that it’s effortless and
enjoyable. I like what I eat!"
