Franklin Daniel Reid, 55, of Mooresville, died Wednesday, April 25, 2007 at Lake Norman Regional Medical Center. Born July 26, 1951 in Agana, Guam, he was the son of the late James and Sylvia Castro Reid. He was a welder at Kewaunee Scientific Corp in Statesville for 19 years. He was a U.S. Army veteran serving in Vietnam, Kuwait and Desert Storm. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a brother, Benjie Reid. Mr. Reid is survived by his wife, Joyce Moose Reid; daughter, Angela Reid Alexander of Mt. Holly; brother, James T. Reid of Fayetteville; sisters, Martha Ann Nichols of Charlotte, Sarah Frances Reid of Taylorsville, Tricia Mae Reid of Kannapolis; grandchildren, Sylvia Marie Alexander and Daniel Mark Alexander. Born Dec. 17, 1924 in High Point, he was the son of the late Charles and Bertha Keener Harbinson. He was a World War II veteran serving in the U.S. Army Air Corps. He was retired from Burlington Industries as a training manager after 37 years of service. He served as a deacon and elder at Prospect Presbyterian Church in Mooresville. He was a member of Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church, where he was a member of the choir and a past member of the Staff Parish Committee. He was a member of the Mooresville Masonic Lodge #496 A.F. & A.M. and a member of the Mooresville-South Iredell Chapter of the AARP, where he served as past president. He was also a member of the Spinning Moors Square Dance Club, where he served as past president. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by six brothers and sisters.
