Connection to the town centre by bus line 3 or 21 (bus stops about 1.5 km from airport) or by taxi. There are direct plane connections from Avignon to various cities in the United Kingdom, operated by two low cost airlines, Flybe and Jet2. http://www.flybe.com or http://www.jet2.com. Marseille-Provence airport www.marseille.aeroport.fr E-mail:[email protected] This airport is located 80 km south of Avignon. It connects to most large European cities. This airport has a new low-cost terminal called « mp2 », with flights to various European and Moroccan destinations. To get to Avignon, take the navette (shuttle bus) from the airport to the Marseille-St. Charles train station. From there, take the train to Avignon. You can also rent a car at the airport and drive to Avignon. Nîmes-Arles-Camargue airport www.nimes-aeroport.fr E-mail: [email protected] This airport is located 50 km west of Avignon. From there, you can fly from/to Brussels, London Luton and Liverpool with RyanAir. To get to Avignon, take the navette (shuttle bus) from the airport to the Nîmes train station. From there, take the train to Avignon. You can also rent a car at the airport and drive to Avignon. Other airports There are several ways of getting to Avignon via a stop-over at another French airport. Paris airports (Roissy-Charles de Gaulle and Orly): www.aeroportsdeparis.fr Roissy-Charles de Gaulle has a TGV (high-speed train) station that connects directly to Avignon. . From Orly, there are daily flights to Avignon, or you can take a TGV train from Paris (Gare de Lyon) town centre. BY TRAIN If you travel by train, you must buy and punch (“composter” in French) your train ticket before getting on the train!
