Cost Effective

Cost Effective
As a freestanding outpatient surgery center, we are
positioned for cost effectiveness. Charges for our
procedures are based on freestanding surgery center
guidelines, which are typically lower than outpatient
surgery procedures performed in a hospital.

In general, you will pay less coinsurance for procedures
performed in a freestanding surgery center than for
comparable procedures performed in a hospital setting. Private
insurance companies also save, which means employers
have lower healthcare costs when a surgery center is used.
Quality
The Sheboygan Surgery Center adheres to safety and quality
of care standards and guidelines. We also participate
in the independent accrediting process conducted by the
Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care
(AAAHC). Accreditation is a voluntary process through
which we measure the quality of our services and
performance against nationally recognized standards.
The Center achieved accreditation in September, 2008.
Safety
In order to participate in the Medicare program and become
accredited, the Center is required to meet conditions set
by the federal government that ensure patient safety and
quality services.
Our Staff
Our patients say it best.
“The entire staff, including my surgeon, was exceptionally
professional and thorough. This competency plus their
warmth alleviated any fears I may have had. Thank you
for excellent care!” – A Surgery Center patient
The Sheboygan Surgery Center is owned and operated
by the Surgery Center of Sheboygan, LLC.

Sheboygan Surgery Center Benefits
Partners
Patient Emphasis and Convenience
Innovative vision and leadership combined with the
mission and values of our physicians and St. Nicholas
Hospital make the Sheboygan Surgery Center a reality.
We believe in promoting wellness among our patients,
staff, and community while ensuring high standards
of quality and customer satisfaction.
In choosing to build a new facility, we had the benefit of
custom designing our facility around you, our patients.
Welcome to the
Sheboygan Surgery Center
We are pleased you chose to have your outpatient surgery
procedure performed at the Sheboygan Surgery Center.
Our Center is a reality because of the partnership between
eight Sheboygan area surgeons and St. Nicholas Hospital.
Together we are revolutionizing the manner in which we
perform outpatient surgery. In fact, the Sheboygan Surgery
Center is the county’s first multi-specialty freestanding
surgery center.
State-of-the-Art
State-of-the-art is a term that appears often in the
healthcare industry. At the Sheboygan Surgery Center,
there is no better term to describe our facility, equipment,
and range of multi-specialty procedures performed.
■
Equipment The facility features video equipment with
high definition monitors. A wide range of minimally
invasive procedures, such as joint, gall bladder, and
intestinal, are performed using the highest definition
video equipment available.
In addition, we have the benefit of sharing St. Nicholas
Hospital’s digital Picture Archiving and Communication
System (PACS). The digital system produces quality
images and is immediately available. Our excellent
surgeons can view their patients’ radiology images at
the Center, which are actually stored in the Hospital’s
Radiology Department.
■
Facility Committed to building the area’s most
state-of-the-art facility, we engaged the architectural
and building firm of Marshall Erdman & Associates, Inc.;
a national firm recognized for their custom-designed
outpatient surgery facilities.
■
Ease of Access – You may access the Surgery Center off
Taylor Drive and/or Saemann Avenue. A canopy covers
the entrance and exit of the building protecting you and
your family from the elements.
■
Quiet Design – The interior color palette and natural
lighting (through windows and skylights) provides a
calm, relaxing, and healing environment.
■
Privacy – Individual areas in both pre-op and recovery
provide optimal conditions for your privacy and the
ability to have your family members remain with you as
much as possible.
■
Staff – A team of experienced and patient-focused
individuals are committed to providing you with the best
possible surgical, diagnostic, or pain management
procedure possible.
