We hope everyone will get something valuable out of every issue. Because of that, we will continue to focus on delivering meaningful content. We are aware of the fact that, what we may deem meaningful may not satisfy that definition for all readers. As a result, we expect to have various reactions to everything we present. When necessary, we will address readers’ concerns that are brought to our attention. This will ensure that, others who may not voice out their opinions or reactions, will get a chance to know our response. he claimed he knew well, was not adequate for the job. He wanted us to buy some other software, so that, he could show us he could do the job. With 3 days left to our deadline, he said he was leaving for a doctor’s appointment, two hours after showing up for work. The next day he came to work claiming he had an appointment with his doctor. When I reminded him that he was supposed to have seen his doctor the previous day, he said he had waited 2 hours but the doctor did not see him. He claimed the doctor walked out without talking to him. I tried to get him to rebook for a later date but he insisted on leaving. Our last issue (Nov/Dec) was put out under some challenging circumstances surrounding employee turnover. We discovered that a replacement graphic designer had overstated his abilities when he was interviewed for the job. We hired him on a trial basis for two weeks. This discovery came close to our deadline for taking the magazine to press. I was trying to get this replacement to come clean when I made the discovery, but, he argued that our publishing software, which Fortunately, there was a job applicant who had not been interviewed. When I called to interview her, she did something with our software, which the other guy said our software could not do; and she did it within half an hour. She was hired and has demonstrated her ability. She worked hard to help get that second issue out to press in a week and a half. I had tried to reschedule press time for a couple of weeks later, but we could only get a week and a half. So, the second issue was rushed. Outside of that, we have been pleased with the overall reaction to the magazine. Our second issue pulled in approximately 5 times more on-line subscriptions than our first one. It also attracted 5 times more subscriptions to “The Fountain of Youth Reports” than our first issue. While this is a positive indication that there are people who see value in this magazine, we also have proof that others want little to do with it. In every case, I was told, that would be such a waste. I heard the parties express concern for saving paper by not delivering to them. To try and deal with that concern, I suggested they pass on the magazine to someone else that may benefit from the content. That raised other responses that made me realize that this “removal from mailing list” issue was more challenging than I expected. do so to support some point we are trying to make. During my call to him, he found out that I could do nothing to stop delivery to his specific address in the postal code where it’s located. He was not too keen about treating the magazine as junk mail. This was because of his environmental concerns, starting from the felling of trees right down the line. This gentleman was passionate about these concerns and felt the magazine is a negative contributory factor to his concerns. He explained that, he was not taking the position that everything was wrong with the magazine. He just wanted me to know that he felt we could do more. He indicated that our articles on health, nutrition, and what he described as religion, seemed to have some positive information, but we provided no tools to use to turn the info into something concrete. At this comment, I asked what more he thought we could do. He went on to say that when he came to our address, he found out that there’s a clothing manufacturing facility on our main floor. He expressed how positive that is, compared to harboring an outfit which imports clothing from third world countries by exploiting low labor standards. He added that, our magazine should be featuring stories like that of our friends downstairs. He admitted that he had a problem with the mention of God, as he felt he was being preached at. He also admitted he was not a Christian but, he was not really an atheist either. After listening for quite a while, with an occasional question here and there, I was relieved to hear him say that, he appreciated the time I took to call and to listen. He said he felt I didn’t have to do it, but, it’s good that I did. He finally indicated that, he would look over our next issue, in the hope that, it might be more pleasant for him. What I learned from this encounter confirms our belief that we could all do more or better. We haven’t arrived yet and I don’t believe we will ever arrive. However, we will continue to endeavour to do better. When we write articles on health and nutrition, we will try and provide tools that can be used to turn the info into something concrete in life. We will refrain from doing religion but we will not fail to quote scripture when we believe that, it is the only source of true wisdom. There’s a lot of information and knowledge in the world today, but has all of that really made a lasting positive impact where it really counts? We don’t think so. As a result, we will continue to share whatever good we know and whatever info we have about the wickedness that surrounds us. Our determination of what is good or wicked will not be based on just my personal preferences. We will base them on the only fair and just standard that we know of; and that will come out of scripture. This, I believe, is what life is about. This is not about religion. That can easily be done by showing up at church, doing a good deed here and there, or calling someone a Christian or some other chosen descriptive. This is about love; the love of the only one who loves every human enough, to set up the best thing every human can ever have. It’s about loving Him enough to have a relationship with Him to enable us to do and be right. of the core of these laws. Every bit of any law that exists to protect you and I and our loved ones (humans or animals) have been extracted from one ideal and absolute moral code. That code was created and given by non other than the Creator of all creatures, God the invisible. He is the only one that could come up with something that fair and just for everyone. If you check the code out, there is no way you wouldn’t want everyone to obey it. You can read it in Exodus 20 and see for yourself. The code is built out of love for all humans by the only one capable of loving all mankind. God clearly shows his love, by not only trying to lay a course for protecting me, but for everyone else in existence. This is rich. If it were left to me, I would just try and protect myself and my immediate family and friends. In that respect, I’m not that different from anyone else. So, as far as I know, there is only one Entity that cares for everyone. This is sweet. It doesn’t matter whether I’m short, tall, fat, bony, tan, cream, crippled, blind or deaf, someone is looking out for me. And to make it even sweeter, He has commanded everybody to look out for everyone else. I’m convinced of His claim that, we are all His creatures. I’m even more convinced of His authenticity, because, He’s the first entity to So, how do we end up at this stanhave ever pronounced death. Exodus 20: By Mosses the prophet And God spake all these words, saying, 1. I am the LORD thy God, which have brought thee out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage. Thou shalt have no other gods before me. 2. Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of anything that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth: Thou shall not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the LORD thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the father upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me; And shewing mercy unto thousands of them that love me, and keep my commandments. 3. Thou shalt not take the name of the LORD thy God in vain; for the LORD will not hold him guiltless that taketh his name in vain. 4. Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy. Six days shalt thou labour, and do all thy work: But the seventh day is the Sabbath of the LORD thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates: For in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the LORD blessed the Sabbath day, and hallowed it. 5. Honour thy father and thy mother: that thy days may be long upon the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee. 6. Thou shalt not kill. 7. Thou shalt not commit adultery. I n our last issue, we featured the free long distance dailer, introduced by Inkh-Ztar Skygroup Corp. This is an update on this free global long distance phone system, with no fixed monthly charges. Anyone can enjoy free global long distance calling, as long as they have a basic Internet connection and InkhZtar’s free dialer. This can be downloaded free from Inkh-Ztar’s website. Over the decades, giant telecommunication corporations dominated the long distance phone market and long distance calls were very costly. Lately, because of the deregulation of the telecom industry, smaller companies have come into the picture with the phone card, offering discounted long distance calling. The rates on these calling cards do allow for cost savings, however some cards are not that user friendly. Users sometimes face inaccuracies and unreliable credit adjustments, which end their calls before time is out. There are now other services where you have a fixed monthly rate for unlimited long distance calls with varying degrees of restriction depending on the package you choose. Now, there is a new solution in town. With the same underlying 8 technology, Inkh-Ztar is poised to offer worldwide long distance calling free. This valuable service comes to users through a dialer at no cost whatsoever. It utilizes Voice Over Internet Protocol (VoIP) to deliver high quality digital signals across the Internet. VoIP has attracted a bit of attention lately due to its enormous benefits for business and consumers, as the technology is maturing and being accepted as an alternative for cost savings. Vonage for example, a provider of VoIP phone services is reported to have reached a million in the number of their paying subscribers. Inkh-Ztar is now offering a similar service of worldwide calling… absolutely FREE. The Not-so-new Phone Technology What we have here is a blend of paid Ads and VoIP, which helps you reduce your long distance phone bills. Make your calls with this system and you will save money. To get started, simply download Inkh-Ztar’s free dialer software. You can then make PC2PC calls all over the globe for free. PC2Phone calls in the US and Canada is also free for up to your first hour of service. After that, your cost is 1.6 cents per minute. Jan/Feb 2008 Edition www.cosmiceye.info The Covered Cost Unlike other VOIP systems, this system receives all of its revenue from local and national advertisers who run 15-20 second rotating ads on the dialer, while you are using the system. These free calls are essentially free because of the ads. They are called Adcalls. The concept is not an original by Inkh-Ztar, but the company has affiliated with a U.S. firm in order to bring this service to the canadian market. You can download the free dialer from Inkh-Ztar’s website to make local and long distance calls, while viewing coupon offers from local and national advertisers on your computer screen. The coupons are specifically targeted to you, based on your desired interests and geographic location and run continuously while the dialer is running on your screen. You can search and print unlimited number of coupons and special offers from the ever-growing list of local and national advertisers including supermarket grocery coupons. You do this right from your computer with the free dialer. When you download the dialer, you become an AdSaver with Inkh-Ztar’s free calls system. You start saving money on your phone calls and other things you buy through the system. How is the call quality? With technical and marketing support from their affiliate U.S. headquarters, Inkh-Ztar delivers quality with the service. The dialer utilizes the most advanced cir- cuitry and switches available in the market today, to bring digital quality calls to the consumer. Any Surprises? Depending how you set up, you may hear an echo on your call. Most of the acoustic echo you may hear, may be due to your sound being up too high. What happens is, your microphone (or your headset mic.) will pick up the sound coming through your speakers (or your headset speakers) and will cause acoustic echo. If this happens, simply turn your speaker volume down. You do not need to turn your microphone volume down. not work on Macintosh computers. It’s recommend that you connect to the Internet with at least a 56 kbps connection speed. The higher the bandwidth you have, the better the sound and quality on your calls. You can pick up a good headset for under $20 from any office or electronic retailer. We live in a crooked world and no one is immuned to the influence of the evil that surrounds us I was working on the computer this morning, when one of my work associates walked up to me with a package. She had just signed for it; delivered by Fedex. The package had my name on it; but I had not ordered it. I looked closely and realized that it came from a company in Oklahoma City. I am familiar with this company, (Vision For Life International) because I had ordered from them before. I was introduced to them by my sister, when she brought a nutritional supplement to my attention for evaluation. This happens often. I get info on a product, do some research on it and investigate it further, if I feel it’s warranted. When I first made contact with the company, it was via a three-way call initiated by my sister, in New York. The plan was to order a container of this supplement, which was touted as an immune booster and a growth hormone precursor. The lady at the ordering desk was courteous and assertive. She suggested, that I could save on Fedex shipping costs if I went on Autoship. With Autoship, the cost of shipping is waived, but you also get them shipping every 2 months. This was not what I wanted. I just wanted one container to try out. She asserted that the math behind buying 2 containers was more favorable. One container was about $60, while 2 containers cost $36 each. One container had shipping charges attached, while the 2 containers on Autoship cost nothing to ship. Her point was well taken, but I still did not want a long-term commitment. The theory behind the claims they were making about their product was supportable by the science behind the research I had done. However, I needed to conduct my investigation satisfactorily before making any long-term commitment. Against this position, she suggested that, if I was not satisfied, I could return the unused portion of the product and cancel the Autoship arrangement. On the surface, this resolved the issue, so I went for it. When the product arrived, I faithfully tried it out according to the letter of their instructions. Within days, I noticed that my knee joints felt weak. I also noticed that when I bent my knees as in squatting; I experienced some pain in my knees. I remembered this feeling from about 4 years earlier, when a similar growth hormone precursor product did that to me. I could not remember the name of the company that sold me that first product, but my symptoms were the same. I will not bore you with any detailed nutritional science here, but this product “ Youth Renew” had just failed the test for me. Its effect on my body, revealed through my knee joints, is the same as what happens to me when I eat any sort of refined sugar. Here again, I will not make this a feature on nutrition, because it’s not. The story is about fraudulent business practices, that are going on around us. I don’t know how many out there that have got hit by these practices, but in this story, I hope someone will find something that will help avert a situation that could expose them to what I have gone through. I also hope that others will be alerted to how they could innocently get entangled in the shady practices of unscrupulous business operators. When the product failed the test for me, I called “Vision for Life International” in Oklahoma City, to inform them of my finding and told them that, I did not want to use the product any longer. They said if I returned the unused portion, they would give me credit for what was returned. They also agreed to cancel the Autoship arrangement they had stored on their computer. I was also made to understand that my credit card information was going to be deleted from their database. Giving them the benefit of the doubt, and believing they would conduct themselves with Integrity, I left it at that, and went about my business. When I originally started feeling the aches in my joints, I thought it may have been just growing pains. So, I continued through till I had almost used up one container. I only stopped, when I realized it was getting worse. I also did not send the unused container back and therefore, got no credit for it. I thought that for the time and trouble and the cost of sending it back, I was just going to keep it around as a reminder. The I was, when a co-worker walked into 12 Jan/Feb 2008 Edition www.cosmiceye.info guy answering the phone was known to me, by telephone. While I was trying to deal with my earlier problems, I experienced him. His explanation for this misdeed is the same as I was given last year. “The Autoship was not disengaged.” He was not apologetic in anyway in his approach. When I asked why they would do this after all these months, (at least 6-8 months) he gave me more details that made them appear even worse. He said the only reason I did not keep getting packages from them is because, every attempt to charge my account prior to this, had been declined. His attitude was that, it was not a big deal that, they did what they did. He said that if I send back the product, they would credit back my card. When I asked him who was to pay for the shipping back to them, he said I had to. It was at this point, that I tried agContinued page 14 Jan/Feb 2008 Edition www.cosmiceye.info 13 Fedex/Vision for Life Story Continued from page 12 gressively to impress upon him that his attitude about this whole incident was very flawed. I asked to talk to a supervisor but he told me there was no one else to talk to. I had to deal with him. He is the manager. Expressing my position that, what they did was fraudulent, did not seem to bother him one bit. I’m not sure who owns the company, and I was not prepared to find out who does, in order to express my displeasure with what they did. I knew I had to get a resolution through my credit card company. So, I called back my credit card company, and talked to someone in customer service. I was forwarded to a supervisor, who listened carefully and concurred with my position that this was to be treated as fraud. My instructions were to cut up my card; while they proceed to treat this as fraud. She also advised that, I send the package back as I planned to, making sure I have proof of sending it back. Finally, I called Fedex, to ask them to come and pick up the package and return it to the sender. This is where it became a little tricky. Fedex said they would not pick up the package and return it, without me paying for the shipping. My explanation of what had transpired did not seem to matter. The agent on the phone said, the only way they would pick-up and return the package “collect”, was for me to call the shipper and ask them for a return sticker or a document of some sort. I knew I was not going to go along with that; so, I did not pay particular attention to the description of this procedure. Oscar, the manager I talked to at Vision for Life, had told me to pay for shipping the package back. I asked to talk to a Fedex Supervisor, 14 and heard a repeat of the statement that, if I did not want the package, I should not have signed for and accepted it. I made it clear that I never signed for the package. It was delivered to our retail front counter and a signature was demanded from the first person, the Fedex driver saw there. I tried to explain that, the coworker saw my name on the package, knew I was busy in my office, and signed for it when requested to do so, not knowing what was going on. at a later date without my permission. So, if the merchant charged my card again, it would be a clear case of fraud. Now, if in this attempt to defraud me, Fedex was called to deliver and they followed their policy, they would be helping the criminal merchant in accomplishing his goal of illegally charging my credit card and sending a product I did not order to an address, in order to complete his illegal and unauthorized transaction. If the driver had asked for me specifically to deliver the package to, I would have rejected it. I had asked my co-worker to go out and call the Fedex driver, to take the package back. But, the driver refused to come back. He said he was only required to deliver, so we needed to call Fedex to send someone else to pick it up. That statement by the Fedex driver seemed to contradict what the two reps on the phone were saying. I was supposed to reject the package if I didn’t want it, but the driver was saying, he would not take it back. They could also deliver to an address the fraud perpetrator has on the package and pat themselves on the back, for a job well done. Suppose, the addressee does not live at that address any longer, but whoever signed for the package did not realize the name on the package did not live there until the driver was gone. The criminal merchant would again have got Fedex’s cooperation in accomplishing his illegal act of charging and delivering. The supervisor also said that Fedex policy was to deliver to the address on the package, not the addressee. Based on this policy, they can go to an address, and not care about who signs for or accepts the package. So, theoretically, the valuable shipment you are expecting, could be delivered to your address without getting to you. I was always under the impression that, the intended recipient was to receive the package. However, this policy, if it does indeed exist, allows for the possibility of someone intercepting delivery to the intended recipient of the package. I also made my position clear that Fedex, in this particular case, was participating in a fraudulent business activity. I explained that if I went to a merchant and bought a product using my credit card, I would not expect them to ship more stuff to me Jan/Feb 2008 Edition www.cosmiceye.info The supervisor, who was trying her best to uphold her employer’s policy, while trying to appease a very dissatisfied consumer, finally got my point. She understood that I was not going to let this thing go away without complaining to someone. It was clear to her, that my complaint was going to clearly state my position that, this activity by Vision for Life was fraudulent and they were involved in it. She knew that the credit card company was already treating it as fraud. So, she finally told me there is another approach she could take. She would have a driver pick up the package, bring it to their warehouse, then call the merchant to ask for instruction as to what to do with their package. She promised to call me back with details on how we were to proceed. Within 15 minutes, she called to inform me a driver had been schedContinued on page 16 Jan/Feb 2008 Edition www.cosmiceye.info 15 Fedex/Vision for Life Story Continued from page 12 uled to pick up the package the next day. The driver indeed did as the Supervisor (Augusta) promised, leaving me with proof that the package was picked up from us. Admittedly, inspite of the various hurdles I encountered in this experience, Fedex came clean and disconnected from the fraudulent activity of Vision for Life. Meanwhile, my credit card company has charged back Vision for Life and is proceeding with an investigation. We will be glad to update you at a future date on what they determine. But, no matter what, the wicked will always have his excuse or reasons for what he does. He will be sly in his schemes and slick in his operations. He may not get caught for a long time or may never get caught by visible eyes. But his wickedness will be exposed in the end. However, it will be good if no one else gets caught up in the slippery schemes of the wicked. ~*~ Moral Quiz I’ve been doing business with a company for years. I buy from them at certain prices that haven’t changed much over the years. I’m getting ready to receive another shipment from them, and am being quoted an amount on the phone that I need to send them for this shipment. This amount is half what it should be. I reflect on it and do some calculations. It still comes out lower than they should be charging me. The party giving me this figure knows what he’s doing. He’s been doing it for 20 years. Should I assume he’s right and cut him a cheque for half the amount I know it should be? Afterall, that’s what they’re asking for. Or, should I call and question why the amount is lower this time than I know it should be? ---- Quiz Courtesy of “Anonymous Businessman (AB)” See page 42 for suggestions SCHWABE’S AUTOMOTIVE CENTRE INC. “For Service That Satisfies” HARRY SCHWABE Manager 16 Jan/Feb 2008 Edition www.cosmiceye.info 4912 - 74th Avenue Edmonton, Alberta T6B 2H6 (780) 465-3336 (780) 466-8213 Keeping your Grey Matter Grey T here were times during my childhood when I couldn’t wait to get older. This was usually on those occasions when I couldn’t or wasn’t allowed to do certain things because of my age. Then, I grew up and realized that, there were times when I wished I could quit growing older. This was usually when I reflected on how growing older, would prevent me from doing certain things I could do when I was younger. At age 37, occasional aches and pains here and there had me thinking that, I needed to have a strategy to fight growing older physically. I knew that, I couldn’t stop the age counter from registering a higher number each year. However, I also knew that there was a lot of scientific knowledge around to help slow down the degenerative processes involved in aging. I remembered some of the things I learned from my Mom & Dad, and added what I had read in nutritional sciences. I used that combo, to devise a plan of action, which worked very effectively for me. For the purpose of this article, I want to focus on graying hair and what most people in our society like to do about it. Commercial science has come up with hair dye, which has successfully relieved some of the pressure people feel in their attempt to camouflage their true age. Infact, that whole commercial concept seems to have been so successful that; it has crossed the age barrier. These days, there are tons of young people, some in their teens, using hair dye to change their natural hair colour. The dyes are now being politically, correctly called hair colour. All this on the surface seems very harmless. For the younger folk, what could possibly hurt by wanting to change the colour of hair? It seems no different from wearing my blue shirt today and the green one, the next day. It’s good not to wear the same shirt everyday in our affluent society; and I can demonstrate easier, that I’m not wearing the same shirt, if the colour is different. The mind has the ability to make no big deal out of this. Hair, on the other hand, is a completely different ball game. It’s a part of my being; a component of my biochemistry. When it’s overgrown and I cut it, I have a good reason in the word “grooming”. I can present the same reason or argument for cutting my overgrown nails. But, to colour my hair involves more than cutting off excess dead cells. The colour touches my hair, runs down the shafts into the pores in the skin and actually penetrates my skin deep enough, to make contact with everything in the skin. This means contact with natural chemicals in my body as well as cells and tissues. It can reach the skull and penetrate it, because the skull bone is porous. It has little pockets of holes that connect with each other, enabling the transmission of the dye through to the rest of the body. The brain, which is being protected by the skull, is going to get reached. The chemicals in the dye were tested on hair to ensure penetration to a point where the staining would be effective for a while till the next colouring. But, I am uncertain as to whether any one commercial producer of hair dyes, has done any tests to show that the product does not go beyond the staining of the hair. I decided not to colour my hair because, logic and the science of “diffusion” put together, helps me to come to the deduction that, if, I dye my grey hair I will also be dying my grey matter (my brain). If the creator of the brain wanted anything to easily reach it, I’m sure He would not have gone through the trouble of hiding it in a skull of bone. I have conducted no experiments or research to prove my deduction mentioned above. But, I would invite any scientist out there with the same concerns as I have, to come up with conclusive research to dispel those concerns or confirm that there’s cause for concern. I’ve been able to convince at least one friend who used to colour his hair. He does that no more. This friend is definitely under 50, but he was unfriendly toward his grey hair, which I thought, actually made him look distinguished. He’s now very comfortable without colouring and actually told me that he heard or read somewhere that my concerns were legit. I have a second friend who confirmed that she also read somewhere that my deductions are true. This article is not designed to annoy some hair dye merchant or to tell anyone whether to colour his or her hair or not. The article is meant to bring attention to the fact that, a whole series of harm, known and unknown can come to those who colour their hair. I would list a whole pile of negative and harmful effects, but that will take more space than we have in this issue. However, I would suggest that if you read any statement on a hair dye package, that suggests that you are not to ingest the product, you have your proof of support for the Continued on page 18 Jan/Feb 2008 Edition www.cosmiceye.info 17 Keeping your grey matter grey Continued from page 17 legitimacy of my position. Besides, when I colour my hair, most people can tell I have; and if I don’t do a great job at it, I may even look ridiculous. I definitely can’t fool everyone that I’m younger by colouring my hair. I’ll be wasting money and achieving no permanent and lasting positive effect on my hair. On the contrary, the health hazards I expose myself to, could aggravate the degenerative processes associated with aging. I would have failed to accomplish my goal of combating old age. A far better and certain way to combat the superficial signs of aging is to start from the inside. This can be accomplished by taking the nutritional and spiritual approach to life. 18 Nutritionally, avoiding every food that contributes to degenerative processes as well as proper nutritional supplementation, will go a long way. Inositol, PABA and some other non-prescriptive supplements have properties that can put colour back into hair naturally. Check out more information on this in “The Fountain of Youth Reports”. Spiritually, having the connectivity to the infinite source of wisdom, so we can have a life that is filled with more and more of the good that we are supposed to do and be, is a key element in this whole endeavor to stay youthful. This ultimate source of wisdom, will also help us avoid the bad and the evil that we need to get rid of, in order to dissipate the deadly stress that comes along with holding on to what is wrong for us. We’re bringing it back in order to update it. NOV/DEC 07 ARTICLE REPRINTED AND UPDATED About 22 years ago, I had decided to put more effort into my research on longevity. I was reaching out there into the field of science and nutrition to see what I could find. What I found and continued to learn would not fit into this magazine, so I won’t attempt to pour it all in here. What I have in this issue is a couple of bites to put your teeth into. The Hidden Rancidity In my study of free radicals and their dangerous effects on aging, I found out something about rancidity that was totally new to me. To make sure we are on the same page, I will briefly attempt to undress the phrase “free radical” as it relates to aging. There is a theory that, organisms (plant or animal) age when cells accumulate “free radicals” with the passage of time. Generally, a “free radical” is any molecule that has a single unpaired electron in an outer shell. This makes that molecule very unstable and consequently very reactive. It seeks to react with anything it can come close to, with the aim of stabilizing the molecule. This reaction with the object of its attack is closely associated with damage to the object. For most biological structures, free radical damage is closely related to oxidation damage. Most people can relate to oxidation damage, as they are familiar with rust of iron exposed to air. The most prominent component of the air, responsible for rust formation is oxygen. Although, oxidation gets its name from oxygen, the process of oxidation does not necessarily involve oxygen. The process is more adequately describable as the loss of electrons from the atoms or molecules forming such biological structures. Simply stated, when oxidation occurs, the oxidation agent (oxidant) looses an electron. This single unpaired electron is what the oxidation agent seeks to shed from its outer shell. As it’s understood now, oxidation never takes place without the inverse or opposite reaction (reduction) taking place. In other words, when the oxidant releases the reactive electron from its outer shell, the process (of the reception of the electron) is called “reduction”. This means, reduction is the gaining of an electron while oxidation is loosing an electron. When an object gains an electron, its structural integrity is compromised, like the iron that rusts. Similarly, when you slice an apple into two pieces and expose the open faces to air, you quickly observe the coloration, which is the onset of putrification. That happens when you use a banana, pear, or any other fruit. What you observe is the result of aging caused by oxidation by the unpaired reactive electrons in the air. When you open a bottle of oil and allow air into the bottle, the same oxidation process takes place. But oil, (unlike the discolored, putrifying, cut apple or banana) does not show its age by discoloration. So, oil will go rancid and dangerous for consumption long before you can smell or detect it. The bottom line is, when you open a bottle of your favorite oil, you need to refrigerate it immediately. That will give its life a little bit of a healthy extension, and prevent you from ingesting toxins, that can age you as quickly as our apple and banana victims. Without slipping out of the focus of this article, I want to add the fact that, vegetable based oils are far better for the body. Personally, I prefer olive oil & flax seed oil. The idea of keeping oil in the fridge may be foreign to you, but it will save your health from some major stressors and your life eventually. Grab the bottle when you need it again, run some hot tap water directly on the surface of the bottle. This will melt the oil, so you can pour out and use whatever amount you need and then store it back in the fridge. You should also avoid storing oil too long in the fridge. Time lines should be 10-14 days, tops. Anti-oxidants like Vitamins C, E, and Selenium will protect against free radical assaults. They are able to protect because they’re donors of electrons, and donate electrons that pair up with unpaired reactive electrons of oxidants to stabilize them and make them harmless against you and I. Fruits & vegetables (grown without pesticides or herbicides) also naturally have lots of phytonutrients (plant protective nutrients) that are powerful anti-oxidants. That makes another case for why Moms’ insistence on eating the vegetables demonstrates their wisdom rather than their dictatorship. As you know, most Moms that try to get us to eat our vegetables are not nutritionists or scientists. The question then is: “Where do they get that wisdom from?” Generally, this knowledge is passed from their Moms on down. I would add to that fact, the truth that, all of this knowledge before science caught on, was already available in Scripture. Continued on page 20 Jan/Feb 2008 Edition www.cosmiceye.info 19 Update on Hidden Rancidity in Oil Continued from page 19 END OF NOV/DEC 07 ARTICLE REPRINTED AND UPDATED We revealed that, the way to avoid the resulting dangers to our health is to refrigerate right after opening and using for the first time. In retrospect, I realized that we neglected to deal adequately with what you do with the bottle already opened and sitting on the counter or inside the cupboard, or elsewhere outside the fridge. It may have occurred to everyone that read the article that, the bottle containing all of those frisky free radicals had to be discarded. However, I felt the need to make sure that we had that clearly stated. When I first discovered the facts about the hidden rancidity, I had a half-used bottle sitting out on my counter. I poured the oil down the drain and recycled the empty bottle. I also want to use this second opportunity, to briefly deal with a relative subject. Butter, margarine, and lard all belong to the same class of food group: Fats. As a result, they are all affected the same way when exposed to air, and should be refrigerated after first use. This will take the fun out of the easy-spreading when they are not refrigerated. But, as you know, refrigerated butter or margarine spreads almost as easy, on a piece of toast. This piece was added specifically to deal with the hidden rancidity issue. However, the mention of butter, margarine, lard and toast raises another health issue. Based on my research, I personally E SM CO IC E EY TH his or her integrity. INTEGRITY ROLL The concept of integrity is directly linked to one’s sense of responsibility and accountability. When an action fails to achieve a desired effect, a person must be accountable and identify what action needs to be taken to correct the problem in order to achieve satisfaction. Delivering Integrity Through Customer Service Common behaviors within the concept of integrity include: being honest, sincere, truthful, keeping one’s word and agreements, being punctual, ethical, fair and just. Integrity is defined as basing one’s actions on an internally consistent framework of principles. One is said to have integrity to the extent that everything he or she does and believes, is based on the same core set of values. While values may change, it is their consistency with each other and with the person’s actions that determines Integrity ought to play an important role in every day life but, it is even more important for a business that offers a service in a competitive market. Often, businesses shadow each other in prices, so customer loyalty comes down to the integrity of the company and the customer service they offer. Even if we do not think of it, to people we deal with, we represent our company’s integrity. That is 20 Jan/Feb 2008 Edition www.cosmiceye.info hardly ever do bread because of a variety of unfriendly ingredients (including lard) that are generally used. However, research supports the position most people are aware of that, bread made from whole grain or unrefined flour is superior (health wise) to white bread. I also personally do not do butter or margarine because of trans fats and other additives that render them too toxic for my constitution. A detailed outline of all the toxic ingredients and their degenerative effects, stretching from diabetes all the way to cancer, would take more space than we have available here. But, please investigate further on your own if you feel reluctant to follow the alternatives mentioned here. You may also want to subscribe to “The Fountain of Youth Reports”, as these subjects will be dealt with there. ~*~ why, as an employer, it is important to seek out employees that can hold up a company’s high standards. This past November 29th, we were faced with a situation that could only have been handled with integrity by a dedicated employee of this courier company we were dealing with. As a company in this job booming province of Alberta, we, like many local businesses, often feel the pinch of being occasionally understaffed. This above-mentioned November afternoon was no different. We were expecting a delivery we needed that day, from Power Express. Apparently like us, they too were busy with the holiday season on their heels, and were hard pressed to get a driver to deliver the needed boxes on time. Making sure to make their deadline, they sent the only driver they had available at the time. Unfortunately, unlike we had arranged, the driver claimed he was unable to carry the boxes up to our address on the second floor. The driver frustrated and agitated with the fact that he was asked to bring the boxes upstairs, gave off a negative attitude that reflected so poorly on this company. We had only three people on at the time, and all of them were very busy. Being rather surprised with this gentleman’s attitude, and the fact that we had to take time to go out and bring in the boxes ourselves, we decided to call “Power Express’s” main office. We told them about the problem we had and our dissatisfaction. On the phone, there was a pleasant response. After dealing with the delivery driver’s attitude, the gentleman, Steve, at the office, answered the phone and listened to our concerns with compassion and understanding. He knew that to uphold the integrity of the company he was a part of; he had to take steps to correct this problem and offer a reasonable solution; and he did. After apologizing for this mistake, he told us that the bill for the delivery was on the house, since the expected service was not delivered satisfactorily. Now, the amount on the bill was only $8 but the action itself spoke volumes in richness of service. Not the richness that comes from a wallet lined with dollar bills, but that, which comes from human integrity manifested in true business integrity. Our hats off to Steve at Power Express. In contrast to the conduct of Steve, presented above, we have an experience to share under the heading “Flipside of Integrity”. (On page 44) You may want to read that. It may help you avoid the headaches and wasted man-hours we’ve suffered from the conduct of the proprietor of O.J. Computing Services. Government of Alberta’s Bold Move- On Smoking This year the Alberta Government made a move to restrict smokers from sharing their smoke with those that choose not to smoke. As a non-smoker, I am happy about this move; which can’t possibly be popular with some smokers. From my perspective, this is a bold move on the part of the Government. But, it demonstrates its ability to do what is humanely correct even if it may not be politically popular. Our hats off to the Government. The toxic effects of smoking on the body are well documented; yet partly because of the addictive nature of some of the ingredients, a good number of smokers who may want to quit are still smoking. The economics of smoking can be pretty tricky. The tobacco companies make a bundle and pay taxes, so government coffers derive a monetary benefit. On the other, the impact on health care costs, deplete monetary value out the coffers. I don’t know the net effect so, I won’t comment on that but, the financial losses sustained by smokers over the long term could be substantial. But of course, most lifestyle choices have their price tags, so we won’t get into that either. What I would like to get into, is the issue of, how effective the prescribed distance away from windows and doors, is in preventing the non-smokers from getting the unsolicited sniffs of poisons. I’ve noticed that I can be 80, 90, 100 ft. away from a smoker and still get a whiff from the smoke, depending on what the wind decides to do with it. It kind of reminds me of the initial attempts years ago by Airliners, to separate smokers from non-smokers on planes. They had small stickers they stuck to the backs of the seats which they chose to mark the separation point. On the surface, this initial response to the concerns of the non-smokers on Airlines was positive. However, if I happened to be sitting right behind or in front of the smoker, it made no difference. I still suffered my discomfort. The airline companies must have known that, without an airtight barrier across the plane, separating the smoking compartment from the non-smoking one, this effort was futile in protecting the health of the non-smokers. Maybe they really didn’t know. None-the-less, you can now tell that they know the little stickers behind the seats were not going to stop the smoke from crossing those invisible barriers they created. They have come a long way. I am hoping that the move in Alberta will eventually evolve into a more thorough and enforceable effort to protect the health of non-smokers while protecting the smokers’ right to do their thing. ~*~ Get a free on-line subscription to “The Fountain of Youth Report”. John’s Witness: The True Light 6 There was a man sent from God, whose name was John. 7 This man came for a witness, to bear witness of the Light, that all through him might believe. 8 He was not that Light, but was sent to bear witness of that Light. 9 That was the true Light which gives light to every man coming into the world.10 He was in the world, and the world was made through Him, and the world did not know Him. 11 He came to His own, and His own did not receive Him. 12 But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become 22 children of God, to those who believe in His name: 13 who were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God. The Word Becomes Flesh 14 And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth. 15 John bore witness of Him and cried out, saying, “This was He of whom I said, ‘He who comes after me is preferred before me, for He was before me.’” 16 And of His fullness we have all received, and grace for grace. 17 For the law was given through Moses, but grace and truth came through Jesus Christ. 18 No one has seen God at any time. The only begotten Son, who is in the bosom of the Father, He has declared Him. A Voice in the Wilderness 19 Now this is the testimony of John, when the Jews sent priests and Levites from Jerusalem to ask him, “Who are you?” 20 He confessed, and did not deny, but confessed, “I am not the Jan/Feb 2008 Edition www.cosmiceye.info Christ.” 21 And they asked him, “What then? Are you Elijah?” He said, “I am not.” “Are you the Prophet?” And he answered, “No.” 22 Then they said to him, “Who are you, that we may give an answer to those who sent us? What do you say about yourself?” 23 He said: “I am ‘ The voice of one crying in the wilderness: “ Make straight the way of the LORD,”’ as the prophet Isaiah said.”24 Now those who were sent were from the Pharisees. 25 And they asked him, saying, “Why then do you baptize if you are not the Christ, nor Elijah, nor the Prophet?” 26 John answered them, saying, “I baptize with water, but there stands One among you whom you do not know. 27 It is He who, coming after me, is preferred before me, whose sandal strap I am not worthy to loose.” 28 These things were done in Bethabara beyond the Jordan, where John was baptizing. The Lamb of God 29 The next day John saw Jesus coming toward him, and said, “Behold! The Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world! 30 This is He of whom I said, ‘After me comes a Man who is preferred before me, for He was before me.’ 31 I did not know Him; but that He should be revealed to Israel, therefore I came baptizing with water.” 32 And John bore witness, saying, “I saw the Spirit descending from heaven like a dove, and He remained upon Him. 33 I did not know Him, but He who sent me to baptize with water said to me, ‘Upon whom you see the Spirit descending, and remaining on Him, this is He who baptizes with the Holy Spirit.’ 34 And I have seen and testified that this is the Son of God.” Years before Jesus was born, the prophet Isaiah prophesied the virgin birth of the Son of God, who was to be called Immanuel (meaning God with us). As God with us, He did all kinds of incredible things to prove He was not just human but that, He was also fully God, the Savior. As the Creator of the world, He had the power to walk over the sea and resurrect the dead. Yet, He was hated by the wicked. He was only admired and revered by the penitent few, who were mostly poor and at the lower end of the social ladder. The leaders and elders of the religious sects, the teachers, the Pharisees and most of the rich did not receive him well. They were among those that hated him. They did because, the truth about Him threatened them and their material and social statuses. They eventually planned his death to get rid of Him by crucifixion. Isaiah 7 14 Therefore the Lord Himself will give you a sign: Behold, the virgin shall conceive and bear a Son, and shall call His name Immanuel. Isaiah 9 The Government of the Promised Son 6 For unto us a Child is born, Unto us a Son is given; And the government will be upon His shoulder. And His name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. 7 Of the increase of His government and peace There will be no end, Upon the throne of David and over His kingdom, To order it and establish it with judgment and justice From that time forward, even forever. The zeal of the Lord of hosts will perform this. Isaiah 11 The Reign of Jesse’s Offspring 1 There shall come forth a Rod from the stem of Jesse, And a Branch shall grow out of his roots. 2 The Spirit of the LORD shall rest upon Him, The Spirit of wisdom and understanding, The Spirit of counsel and might, The Spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the LORD. 3 His delight is in the fear of the LORD, And He shall not judge by the sight of His eyes, Nor decide by the hearing of His ears; 4 But with righteousness He shall judge the poor, And decide with equity for the meek of the earth; He shall strike the earth with the rod of His mouth, And with the breath of His lips He shall slay the wicked. 5 Righteousness shall be the belt of His loins, And faithfulness the belt of His waist. Isaiah 53 1 Who has believed our report? And to whom has the arm of the LORD been revealed? 2 For He shall grow up before Him as a tender plant, And as a root out of dry ground. He has no form or comeliness; And when we see Him, There is no beauty that we should desire Him. 3 He is despised and rejected by men, A Man of sorrows and acquainted with grief. And we hid, as it were, our faces from Him; He was despised, and we did not esteem Him. 4 Surely He has borne our griefs And carried our sorrows; Yet we esteemed Him stricken, Smitten by God, and afflicted. 5 But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; The chastisement for our peace was upon Him, And by His stripes we are healed. 6 All we like sheep have gone astray; We have turned, every one, to his own way; And the LORD has laid on Him the iniquity of us all. 7 He was oppressed and He was afflicted, Yet He opened not His mouth; He was led as a lamb to the slaughter, And as a sheep before its shearers is silent, So He opened not His mouth.8 He was taken from prison and from judgment, And who will declare His generation? For He was cut off from the land of the living; For the transgressions of My people He was stricken. 9 And they made His grave with the wicked— But with the rich at His death, Because He had done no violence, Nor was any deceit in His mouth. Mark 8 Peter Confesses Jesus as the Christ 27 Now Jesus and His disciples went out to the towns of Caesarea Philippi; and on the road He asked His disciples, saying to them, “Who do men say that I am?” 28 So they answered, “John the Baptist; but some say, Elijah; and others, one of the prophets.” 29 He said to them, “But who do you say that I am?” Peter answered and said to Him, “You are the Christ.” 30 Then He strictly warned them that they should tell no one about Him. All the evil plans of men, were subject to the divine master plan of God, the Father. This was the plan of salvation, put in place even before Creation. Jesus was to come and die for mankind’s wickedness; the very nature that was being demonstrated toward Him during His life on earth. Isaiah 53 10 Yet it pleased the LORD to bruise Him; He has put Him to grief. When You make His soul an offering for sin, He shall see His seed, He shall prolong His days, And the pleasure of the LORD shall prosper in His hand. 11 He shall see the labor of His soul, and be satisfied. By His knowledge My righteous Servant shall justify many, For He shall bear their iniquities. 12 Therefore I will divide Him a portion with the great, And He shall divide the spoil with the strong, Because He poured out His soul unto death, And He was numbered with the transgressors, And He bore the sin of many, And made intercession for the transgressors. The enmity between the seed of the Evil one (The deceiver, the snake) and the seed of Adam and Eve was long foretold by God, the Father, before Jesus showed up according to prophecy. Mark 8 Jesus Predicts His Death and Resurrection 31 And He began to teach them that the Son of Man must suffer many things, and be rejected by the elders and chief priests and scribes, and be killed, and after three days rise again. John 3 The New Birth 14 And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of Man be lifted up, 15 that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life. 16 For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. 17 For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved. 18 “He who believes in Him is not condemned; but he who does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. 19 And this is the condemnation, that the light has come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. 20 For everyone practicing evil hates the light and does not come to the light, lest his deeds should be exposed. 21 But he who does the truth comes to the light, that his deeds may be clearly seen, that they have been done in God.” John 12 The Fruitful Grain of Wheat 20 Now there were certain Greeks among those who came up to worship at the feast. 21 Then they came to Philip, who was from Bethsaida of Galilee, and asked him, saying, “Sir, we wish to see Jesus.” 22 Philip came and told Andrew, and in turn Andrew and Philip told Jesus. 23 But Jesus answered them, saying, “The hour has come that the Son of Man should be 24 glorified. 24 Most assuredly, I say to you, unless a grain of wheat falls into the ground and dies, it remains alone; but if it dies, it produces much grain. 25 He who loves his life will lose it, and he who hates his life will lose it, and he who hates his life in this world will keep it for eternal life. 26 If anyone serves Me, let him follow Me; and where I am, there My servant will be also. If anyone serves Me, him My Father will honor. Jesus Predicts His Death on the Cross 27 “Now My soul is troubled, and what shall I say? ‘Father, save Me from this hour’? But for this purpose I came to this hour. 28 Father, glorify Your name.” Then a voice came from heaven, saying, “I have both glorified it and will glorify it again.” 29 Therefore the people who stood by and heard it said that it had thundered. Others said, “An angel has spoken to Him.” 30 Jesus answered and said, “This voice did not come because of Me, but for your sake. 31 Now is the judgment of this world; now the ruler of this world will be cast out. 32 And I, if I am lifted up from the earth, will draw all peoples to Myself.” 33 This He said, signifying by what death He would die. 34 The people answered Him, “We have heard from the law that the Christ remains forever; and how can You say, ‘The Son of Man must be lifted up’? Who is this Son of Man?” 35 Then Jesus said to them, “A little while longer the light is with you. Walk while you have the light, lest darkness overtake you; he who walks in darkness does not know where he is going. 36 While you have the light, believe in the light, that you may become sons of light.” These things Jesus spoke, and departed, and was hidden from them. Who Has Believed Our Report? 37 But although He had done so many signs before them, they did not believe in Him, 38 that the word of Isaiah the prophet might be fulfilled, which he spoke: “ Lord, who has believed our report? And to whom has the arm of the LORD been revealed?” 39 Therefore they could not believe, because Isaiah said again: 40 “ He has blinded their eyes and hardened their hearts, Lest they should see with their eyes, Lest they should understand with their hearts and turn, So that I should heal them.” 41 Jan/Feb 2008 Edition www.cosmiceye.info These things Isaiah said when he saw His glory and spoke of Him. Walk in the Light 42 Nevertheless even among the rulers many believed in Him, but because of the Pharisees they did not confess Him, lest they should be put out of the synagogue; 43 for they loved the praise of men more than the praise of God. 44 Then Jesus cried out and said, “He who believes in Me, believes not in Me but in Him who sent Me. 45 And he who sees Me sees Him who sent Me. 46 I have come as a light into the world, that whoever believes in Me should not abide in darkness. 47 And if anyone hears My words and does not believe, I do not judge him; for I did not come to judge the world but to save the world. 48 He who rejects Me, and does not receive My words, has that which judges him—the word that I have spoken will judge him in the last day. 49 For I have not spoken on My own authority; but the Father who sent Me gave Me a command, what I should say and what I should speak. 50 And I know that His command is everlasting life. Therefore, whatever I speak, just as the Father has told Me, so I speak.” Matthew 26 Jesus Faces the Sanhedrin 57 And those who had laid hold of Jesus led Him away to Caiaphas the high priest, where the scribes and the elders were assembled. 58 But Peter followed Him at a distance to the high priest’s courtyard. And he went in and sat with the servants to see the end. 59 Now the chief priests, the elders, and all the council sought false testimony against Jesus to put Him to death, 60 but found none. Even though many false witnesses came forward, they found none. But at last two false witnesses came forward 61 and said, “This fellow said, ‘I am able to destroy the temple of God and to build it in three days.’” 62 And the high priest arose and said to Him, “Do You answer nothing? What is it these men testify against You?” 63 But Jesus kept silent. And the high priest answered and said to Him, “I put You under oath by the living God: Tell us if You are the Christ, the Son of God!” Continued on page 26 Vision loss and blindness can affect anyone, at any age. Nevertheless, I say to you, hereafter you will see the Son of Man sitting at the right hand of the Power, and coming on the clouds of heaven.” 65 Then the high priest tore his clothes, saying, “He has spoken blasphemy! What further need do we have of witnesses? Look, now you have heard His blasphemy! 66 What do you think?” They answered and said, “He is deserving of death.” 67 Then they spat in His face and beat Him; and others struck Him with the palms of their hands, 68 saying, “Prophesy to us, Christ! Who is the one who struck You?” The savior was indeed crucified according to God’s divine plan of Salvation. Knowing the nature of His creatures and the depth of their fall into Sin, He used and controlled their wicked plans in order to accomplish His plan for our redemption from sin. After His resurrection, it was easier for those who believed, to see in retrospect what God had foretold and done. It strengthened their faith and relationship with God. John 19 The Soldiers Mock Jesus 1 So then Pilate took Jesus and scourged Him. 2 And the soldiers twisted a crown of thorns and put it on His head, and they put on Him a purple robe. 3 Then they said, “Hail, King of the Jews!” And they struck Him with their hands. 4 Pilate then went out again, and said to them, “Behold, I am bringing Him out to you, that you may know that I find no fault in Him.” Pilate’s Decision 5 Then Jesus came out, wearing the crown of thorns and the purple robe. And Pilate said to them, “Behold the Man!” 6 Therefore, when the chief priests and officers saw Him, they cried out, saying, “Crucify Him, crucify Him!” Pilate said to them, “You take Him and crucify Him, for I find no fault in Him.” 7 The Jews answered him, “We have a law, and according to our law He ought to die, because He made Himself 26 the Son of God.” 8 Therefore, when Pilate heard that saying, he was the more afraid, 9 and went again into the Praetorium, and said to Jesus, “Where are You from?” But Jesus gave him no answer. 10 Then Pilate said to Him, “Are You not speaking to me? Do You not know that I have power to crucify You, and power to release You?” 11 Jesus answered, “You could have no power at all against Me unless it had been given you from above. Therefore the one who delivered Me to you has the greater sin.” 12 From then on Pilate sought to release Him, but the Jews cried out, saying, “If you let this Man go, you are not Caesar’s friend. Whoever makes himself a king speaks against Caesar.” 13 When Pilate therefore heard that saying, he brought Jesus out and sat down in the judgment seat in a place that is called The Pavement, but in Hebrew, Gabbatha. 14 Now it was the Preparation Day of the Passover, and about the sixth hour. And he said to the Jews, “Behold your King!” 15 But they cried out, “Away with Him, away with Him! Crucify Him!” Pilate said to them, “Shall I crucify your King?” The chief priests answered, “We have no king but Caesar!” 16 Then he delivered Him to them to be crucified. Then they took Jesus and led Him away. The King on a Cross 17 And He, bearing His cross, went out to a place called the Place of a Skull, which is called in Hebrew, Golgotha, 18 where they crucified Him, and two others with Him, one on either side, and Jesus in the center. 19 Now Pilate wrote a title and put it on the cross. And the writing was: JESUS OF NAZARETH, THE KING OF THE JEWS 20 Then many of the Jews read this title, for the place where Jesus was crucified was near the city; and it was written in Hebrew, Greek, and Latin.21 Therefore the chief priests of the Jews said to Pilate, “Do not write, ‘The King of the Jews,’ but, ‘He said, “I am the King of the Jews.”’” 22 Pilate answered, “What I have written, I have written.” 23 Then the soldiers, when they had crucified Jesus, took His garments and made four parts, to each soldier a part, and also the tunic. Now the tunic was without seam, woven from the top in one piece. 24 Jan/Feb 2008 Edition www.cosmiceye.info They said therefore among themselves, “Let us not tear it, but cast lots for it, whose it shall be,” that the Scripture might be fulfilled which says: “ They divided My garments among them, And for My clothing they cast lots.” Therefore the soldiers did these things. Behold Your Mother 25 Now there stood by the cross of Jesus His mother, and His mother’s sister, Mary the wife of Clopas, and Mary Magdalene. 26 When Jesus therefore saw His mother, and the disciple whom He loved standing by, He said to His mother, “Woman, behold your son!” 27 Then He said to the disciple, “Behold your mother!” And from that hour that disciple took her to his own home. It Is Finished 28 After this, Jesus, knowing that all things were now accomplished, that the Scripture might be fulfilled, said, “I thirst!” 29 Now a vessel full of sour wine was sitting there; and they filled a sponge with sour wine, put it on hyssop, and put it to His mouth. 30 So when Jesus had received the sour wine, He said, “It is finished!” And bowing His head, He gave up His spirit. Jesus’ Side Is Pierced 31 Therefore, because it was the Preparation Day, that the bodies should not remain on the cross on the Sabbath (for that Sabbath was a high day), the Jews asked Pilate that their legs might be broken, and that they might be taken away. 32 Then the soldiers came and broke the legs of the first and of the other who was crucified with Him. 33 But when they came to Jesus and saw that He was already dead, they did not break His legs. 34 But one of the soldiers pierced His side with a spear, and immediately blood and water came out. 35 And he who has seen has testified, and his testimony is true; and he knows that he is telling the truth, so that you may believe. 36 For these things were done that the Scripture should be fulfilled, “Not one of His bones shall be broken.” 37 And again another Scripture says, “They shall look on Him whom they pierced.” Jesus Buried in Joseph’s Tomb 38 After this, Joseph of Arimathea, being a disciple of Jesus, but secretly, for fear of the Jews, asked Pilate that he might take away the body of Jesus; and Pilate gave him permission. So he came and took the body of Jesus. 39 And Nicodemus, who at first came to Jesus by night, also came, bringing a mixture of myrrh and aloes, about a hundred pounds. 40 Then they took the body of Jesus, and bound it in strips of linen with the spices, as the custom of the Jews is to bury. 41 Now in the place where He was crucified there was a garden, and in the garden a new tomb in which no one had yet been laid. 42 So there they laid Jesus, because of the Jews’ Preparation Day, for the tomb was nearby. John 20 The Empty Tomb 1 Now the first day of the week Mary Magdalene went to the tomb early, while it was still dark, and saw that the stone had been taken away from the tomb. 2 Then she ran and came to Simon Peter, and to the other disciple, whom Jesus loved, and said to them, “They have taken away the Lord out of the tomb, and we do not know where they have laid Him.”3 Peter therefore went out, and the other disciple, and were going to the tomb. 4 So they both ran together, and the other disciple outran Peter and came to the tomb first. 5 And he, stooping down and looking in, saw the linen cloths lying there; yet he did not go in. 6 Then Simon Peter came, following him, and went into the tomb; and he saw the linen cloths lying there, 7 and the handkerchief that had been around His head, not lying with the linen cloths, but folded together in a place by itself. 8 Then the other disciple, who came to the tomb first, went in also; and he saw and believed. 9 For as yet they did not know the Scripture, that He must rise again from the dead. 10 Then the disciples went away again to their own homes. Mary Magdalene Sees the Risen Lord 11 But Mary stood outside by the tomb weeping, and as she wept she stooped down and looked into the tomb. 12 And she saw two angels in white sitting, one at the head and the other at the feet, where the body of Jesus had lain. 13 Then they said to her, “Woman, why are you weeping?” She said to them, “Because they have taken away my Lord, and I do not know where they have laid Him.” 14 Now when she had said this, she turned around and saw Jesus standing there, and did not know that it was Jesus. 15 Jesus said to her, “Woman, why are you weeping? Whom are you seeking?” She, supposing Him to be the gardener, said to Him, “Sir, if You have carried Him away, tell me where You have laid Him, and I will take Him away.” 16 Jesus said to her, “Mary!” She turned and said to Him, “Rabboni!” (which is to say, Teacher). 17 Jesus said to her, “Do not cling to Me, for I have not yet ascended to My Father; but go to My brethren and say to them, ‘I am ascending to My Father and your Father, and to My God and your God.’” 18 Mary Magdalene came and told the disciples that she had seen the Lord, and that He had spoken these things to her. The Apostles Commissioned 19 Then, the same day at evening, be- ing the first day of the week, when the doors were shut where the disciples were assembled, for fear of the Jews, Jesus came and stood in the midst, and said to them, “Peace be with you.” 20 When He had said this, He showed them His hands and His side. Then the disciples were glad when they saw the Lord. 21 So Jesus said to them again, “Peace to you! As the Father has sent Me, I also send you.” 22 And when He had said this, He breathed on them, and said to them, “Receive the Holy Spirit. 23 If you forgive the sins of any, they are forgiven them; if you retain the sins of any, they are retained.” Seeing and Believing 24 Now Thomas, called the Twin, one of the twelve, was not with them when Jesus came. 25 The other disciples therefore said to him, “We have seen the Lord.” So he said to them, “Unless I see in His hands the print of the nails, and put my finger into the print of the nails, and put my hand into His side, I will not believe.” 26 And after eight days His disciples were again inside, and Thomas with them. Jesus came, the doors being shut, and stood in the midst, and said, “Peace to you!” 27 Then He said to Thomas, “Reach your finger here, and look at My hands; and reach your hand here, and put it into My side. Do not be unbelieving, but believ- ing.” 28 And Thomas answered and said to Him, “My Lord and my God!” 29 Jesus said to him, “Thomas, because you have seen Me, you have believed. Blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed.” That You May Believe 30 And truly Jesus did many other signs in the presence of His disciples, which are not written in this book; 31 but these are written that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that believing you may have life in His name. John 21 Breakfast by the Sea 1 After these things Jesus showed Himself again to the disciples at the Sea of Tiberias, and in this way He showed Himself: 2 Simon Peter, Thomas called the Twin, Nathanael of Cana in Galilee, the sons of Zebedee, and two others of His disciples were together. 3 Simon Peter said to them, “I am going fishing.”They said to him, “We are going with you also.” They went out and immediately got into the boat, and that night they caught nothing. 4 But when the morning had now come, Jesus stood on the shore; yet the disciples did not know that it was Jesus. 5 Then Jesus said to them, “Children, have you any food?” They answered Him, “No.” 6 And He said to them, “Cast the net on the right side of the boat, and you will find some.” So they cast, and now they were not able to draw it in because of the multitude of fish. 7 Therefore that disciple whom Jesus loved said to Peter, “It is the Lord!” Now when Simon Peter heard that it was the Lord, he put on his outer garment (for he had removed it), and plunged into the sea. 8 But the other disciples came in the little boat (for they were not far from land, but about two hundred cubits), dragging the net with fish. 9 Then, as soon as they had come to land, they saw a fire of coals there, and fish laid on it, and bread. 10 Jesus said to them, “Bring some of the fish which you have just caught.” 11 Simon Peter went up and dragged the net to land, full of large fish, one hundred and fifty-three; and Continued on page 29 Jan/Feb 2008 Edition www.cosmiceye.info 27 Current Blowout List Demensions Type Quantity 13½ x 10¼ x 4½ printed 8230 16½ x 12⅛ x 4 printed 2040 11¾ x 8¼ x 4½ almost plain 2100 13½ x 10 x 3½ die cut 13987 8⅛ x 4 x 28½ printed 3987 25½ x 8¾ x 14½ plain/double walled 576 25½ x 8¾ x 27 plain/double walled 258 19⅛ x 4½ x ¼ plain/double walled 540 13½ x 8½ x 8½ printed 550 15½ x 10 x 9 printed 41680 Call Today: 780-484-8104 28 Jan/Feb 2008 Edition www.cosmiceye.info Price/ box 10¢ 10¢ 10¢ 10¢ 10¢ call for price call for price call for price call for price 29¢ An Invitation to Eternity Continued from page 27 although there were so many, the net was not broken. 12 Jesus said to them, “Come and eat breakfast.” Yet none of the disciples dared ask Him, “Who are You?”—knowing that it was the Lord. 13 Jesus then came and took the bread and gave it to them, and likewise the fish. 14 This is now the third time Jesus showed Himself to His disciples after He was raised from the dead. Jesus Restores Peter 15 So when they had eaten breakfast, Jesus said to Simon Peter, “Simon, son of Jonah, do you love Me more than these?” He said to Him, “Yes, Lord; You know that I love You.” He said to him, “Feed My lambs.” 16 He said to him again a second time, “Simon, son of Jonah, do you love Me?” He said to Him, “Yes, Lord; You know that I love You.” He said to him, “Tend My sheep.” 17 He said to him the third time, “Simon, son of Jonah, do you love Me?” Peter was grieved because He said to him the third time, “Do you love Me?” And he said to Him, “Lord, You know all things; You know that I love You.” Jesus said to him, “Feed My sheep. 18 Most assuredly, I say to you, when you were younger, you girded yourself and walked where you wished; but when you are old, you will stretch out your hands, and another will gird you and carry you where you do not wish.” 19 This He spoke, signifying by what death he would glorify God. And when He had spoken this, He said to him, “Follow Me.” The Beloved Disciple and His Book 20 Then Peter, turning around, saw the disciple whom Jesus loved following, who also had leaned on His breast at the supper, and said, “Lord, who is the one who betrays You?” 21 Peter, seeing him, said to Jesus, “But Lord, what about this man?” 22 Jesus said to him, “If I will that he remain till I come, what is that to you? You follow Me.” 23 Then this saying went out among the brethren that this disciple would not die. Yet Jesus did not say to him that he would not die, but, “If I will that he remain till I come, what is that to you?” 24 This is the disciple who testifies of these things, and wrote these things; and we know that his testimony is true. 25 And there are also many other things that Jesus did, which if they were written one by one, I suppose that even the world itself could not contain the books that would be written. Amen. Acts 1 Prologue 1 The former account I made, O Theophilus, of all that Jesus began both to do and teach, 2 until the day in which He was taken up, after He through the Holy Spirit had given commandments to the apostles whom He had chosen, 3 to whom He also presented Himself alive after His suffering by many infallible proofs, being seen by them during forty days and speaking of the things pertaining to the kingdom of God. The Holy Spirit Promised 4 And being assembled together with them, He commanded them not to depart from Jerusalem, but to wait for the Promise of the Father, “which,” He said, “you have heard from Me; 5 for John truly baptized with water, but you shall be baptized with the Holy Spirit not many days from now.” 6 Therefore, when they had come together, they asked Him, saying, “Lord, will You at this time restore the kingdom to Israel?” 7 And He said to them, “It is not for you to know times or seasons which the Father has put in His own authority. 8 But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.” Jesus Ascends to Heaven 9 Now when He had spoken these things, while they watched, He was taken up, and a cloud received Him out of their sight. 10 And while they looked steadfastly toward heaven as He went up, behold, two men stood by them in white apparel, 11 who also said, “Men of Galilee, why do you stand gazing up into heaven? This same Jesus, who was taken up from you into heaven, will so come in like manner as you saw Him go into heaven.” Acts 2 Coming of the Holy Spirit 3 Then there appeared to them divided tongues, as of fire, and one sat upon each of them. Acts 4 Peter and John Arrested 1 Now as they spoke to the people, the priests, the captain of the temple, and the Sadducees came upon them, 2 being greatly disturbed that they taught the people and preached in Jesus the resurrection from the dead. 3 And they laid hands on them, and put them in custody until the next day, for it was already evening. 4 However, many of those who heard the word believed; and the number of the men came to be about five thousand. Addressing the Sanhedrin 5 And it came to pass, on the next day, that their rulers, elders, and scribes, 6 as well as Annas the high priest, Caiaphas, John, and Alexander, and as many as were of the family of the high priest, were gathered together at Jerusalem. 7 And when they had set them in the midst, they asked, “By what power or by what name have you done this?” 8 Then Peter, filled with the Holy Spirit, said to them, “Rulers of the people and elders of Israel: 9 If we this day are judged for a good deed done to a helpless man, by what means he has been made well, 10 let it be known to you all, and to all the people of Israel, that by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom you crucified, whom God raised from the dead, by Him this man stands here before you whole. 11 This is the ‘stone which was rejected by you builders, which has become the chief cornerstone.’12 Nor is there salvation in any other, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.” The Name of Jesus Forbidden 13 Now when they saw the boldness of Peter and John, and perceived that they were uneducated and untrained men, they marveled. And they realized that they had been with Jesus. 14 And seeing the man who had been healed standing with them, they could say nothing against it. 15 But when they had commanded them to go aside out of the council, they conferred among themContinued on page 30 Jan/Feb 2008 Edition www.cosmiceye.info 29 An Invitation to Eternity Continued from page 29 selves, 16 saying, “What shall we do to these men? For, indeed, that a notable miracle has been done through them is evident to all who dwell in Jerusalem, and we cannot deny it. 17 But so that it spreads no further among the people, let us severely threaten them, that from now on they speak to no man in this name.” 18 So they called them and commanded them not to speak at all nor teach in the name of Jesus. 19 But Peter and John answered and said to them, “Whether it is right in the sight of God to listen to you more than to God, you judge. 20 For we cannot but speak the things which we have seen and heard.” 21 So when they had further threatened them, they let them go, finding no way of punishing them, because of the people, since they all glorified God for what had been done. 22 For the man was over forty years old on whom this miracle of healing had been performed. Acts 5 Continuing Power in the Church 12 And through the hands of the apostles many signs and wonders were done among the people. And they were all with one accord in Solomon’s Porch. 13 Yet none of the rest dared join them, but the people esteemed them highly. 14 And believers were increasingly added to the Lord, multitudes of both men and women, 15 so that they brought the sick out into the streets and laid them on beds and couches, that at least the shadow of Peter passing by might fall 30 on some of them. 16 Also a multitude gathered from the surrounding cities to Jerusalem, bringing sick people and those who were tormented by unclean spirits, and they were all healed. Imprisoned Apostles Freed 17 Then the high priest rose up, and all those who were with him (which is the sect of the Sadducees), and they were filled with indignation, 18 and laid their hands on the apostles and put them in the common prison. 19 But at night an angel of the Lord opened the prison doors and brought them out, and said, 20 “Go, stand in the temple and speak to the people all the words of this life.” 21 And when they heard that, they entered the temple early in the morning and taught. But the high priest and those with him came and called the council together, with all the elders of the children of Israel, and sent to the prison to have them brought. Apostles on Trial Again 22 But when the officers came and did not find them in the prison, they returned and reported, 23 saying, “Indeed we found the prison shut securely, and the guards standing outside before the doors; but when we opened them, we found no one inside!” 24 Now when the high priest, the captain of the temple, and the chief priests heard these things, they wondered what the outcome would be. 25 So one came and told them, saying, “Look, the men whom you put in prison are standing in the temple and teaching the people!” 26 Then the captain went with the officers and brought them without violence, for they feared Jan/Feb 2008 Edition www.cosmiceye.info the people, lest they should be stoned. 27 And when they had brought them, they set them before the council. And the high priest asked them, 28 saying, “Did we not strictly command you not to teach in this name? And look, you have filled Jerusalem with your doctrine, and intend to bring this Man’s blood on us!” 29 But Peter and the other apostles answered and said: “We ought to obey God rather than men. 30 The God of our fathers raised up Jesus whom you murdered by hanging on a tree. 31 Him God has exalted to His right hand to be Prince and Savior, to give repentance to Israel and forgiveness of sins. 32 And we are His witnesses to these things, and so also is the Holy Spirit whom God has given to those who obey Him.” Gamaliel’s Advice 33 When they heard this, they were furious and plotted to kill them. 34 Then one in the council stood up, a Pharisee named Gamaliel, a teacher of the law held in respect by all the people, and commanded them to put the apostles outside for a little while. 35 And he said to them: “Men of Israel, take heed to yourselves what you intend to do regarding these men. 36 For some time ago Theudas rose up, claiming to be somebody. A number of men, about four hundred, joined him. He was slain, and all who obeyed him were scattered and came to nothing. 37 After this man, Judas of Galilee rose up in the days of the census, and drew away many people after him. He also perished, and all who obeyed him were dispersed. 38 Continued on page 32 Corporate Reorganization Clearance Sale at Blowout Central Inc. Acts 6 Stephen Accused of Blasphemy 8 And Stephen, full of faith and power, did great wonders and signs among the people. 9 Then there arose some from what is called the Synagogue of the Freedmen (Cyrenians, Alexandrians, and those from Cilicia and Asia), disputing with Stephen. 10 And they were not able to resist the wisdom and the Spirit by which he spoke. 11 Then they secretly induced men to say, “We have heard him speak blasphemous words against Moses and God.” 12 And they stirred up the people, the elders, and the scribes; and they came upon him, seized him, and brought him to the council. 13 They also set up false witnesses who said, “This man does not cease to speak blasphemous words against this holy place and the law; 14 for we have heard him say that this Jesus of Nazareth will destroy this place and change the customs which Moses delivered to us.” 15 And all who sat in the council, looking steadfastly at him, saw his face as the face of an angel. Acts 7 Stephen’s Address: The Call of Abraham 1 Then the high priest said, “Are these things so?” 2 And he said, “Brethren and fathers, listen: The God of glory appeared to our father Abraham when he was in Mesopotamia, before he dwelt in Haran, 3 and said to him, ‘Get out of your country and from your relatives, and come to a land that I will show you.’ 32 4 Then he came out of the land of the Chaldeans and dwelt in Haran. And from there, when his father was dead, He moved him to this land in which you now dwell. 5 And God gave him no inheritance in it, not even enough to set his foot on. But even when Abraham had no child, He promised to give it to him for a possession, and to his descendants after him. 6 But God spoke in this way: that his descendants would dwell in a foreign land, and that they would bring them into bondage and oppress them four hundred years. 7 ‘And the nation to whom they will be in bondage I will judge,’ said God, ‘and after that they shall come out and serve Me in this place.’ 8 Then He gave him the covenant of circumcision; and so Abraham begot Isaac and circumcised him on the eighth day; and Isaac begot Jacob, and Jacob begot the twelve patriarchs. The Patriarchs in Egypt 9 “And the patriarchs, becoming envious, sold Joseph into Egypt. But God was with him 10 and delivered him out of all his troubles, and gave him favor and wisdom in the presence of Pharaoh, king of Egypt; and he made him governor over Egypt and all his house. 11 Now a famine and great trouble came over all the land of Egypt and Canaan, and our fathers found no sustenance. 12 But when Jacob heard that there was grain in Egypt, he sent out our fathers first. 13 And the second time Joseph was made known to his brothers, and Joseph’s family became known to the Pharaoh. 14 Then Joseph sent and called his father Jacob and all his relatives to him, seventy-five people. 15 So Jacob went down to Egypt; and he died, he and our fathers. 16 And they were carried back to Shechem and laid in the tomb that Abraham bought for a sum of money from the sons of Hamor, the father of Shechem. God Delivers Israel by Moses 17 “But when the time of the promise drew near which God had sworn to Abraham, the people grew and multiplied in Egypt 18 till another king arose who did not know Joseph. 19 This man dealt treacherously with our people, and oppressed our forefathers, making them expose their babies, so that they might not live. 20 At this time Moses was born, Jan/Feb 2008 Edition www.cosmiceye.info and was well pleasing to God; and he was brought up in his father’s house for three months. 21 But when he was set out, Pharaoh’s daughter took him away and brought him up as her own son. 22 And Moses was learned in all the wisdom of the Egyptians, and was mighty in words and deeds. 23 “Now when he was forty years old, it came into his heart to visit his brethren, the children of Israel. 24 And seeing one of them suffer wrong, he defended and avenged him who was oppressed, and struck down the Egyptian. 25 For he supposed that his brethren would have understood that God would deliver them by his hand, but they did not understand. 26 And the next day he appeared to two of them as they were fighting, and tried to reconcile them, saying, ‘Men, you are brethren; why do you wrong one another?’ 27 But he who did his neighbor wrong pushed him away, saying, ‘Who made you a ruler and a judge over us? 28 Do you want to kill me as you did the Egyptian yesterday?’ 29 Then, at this saying, Moses fled and became a dweller in the land of Midian, where he had two sons. 30 “And when forty years had passed, an Angel of the Lord appeared to him in a flame of fire in a bush, in the wilderness of Mount Sinai. 31 When Moses saw it, he marveled at the sight; and as he drew near to observe, the voice of the Lord came to him, 32 saying, ‘I am the God of your fathers—the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob.’ And Moses trembled and dared not look. 33 ‘Then the LORD said to him, “Take your sandals off your feet, for the place where you stand is holy ground. 34 I have surely seen the oppression of My people who are in Egypt; I have heard their groaning and have come down to deliver them. And now come, I will send you to Egypt.”35 “This Moses whom they rejected, saying, ‘Who made you a ruler and a judge?’ is the one God sent to be a ruler and a deliverer by the hand of the Angel who appeared to him in the bush. 36 He brought them out, after he had shown wonders and signs in the land of Egypt, and in the Red Sea, and in the wilderness forty years. Israel Rebels Against God 37 “This is that Moses who said to the children of Israel, ‘The LORD your God will raise up for you a Prophet like me from your brethren. Him you shall hear.’38 “This is he who was in the congregation in the wilderness with the Angel who spoke to him on Mount Sinai, and with our fathers, the one who received the living oracles to give to us, 39 whom our fathers would not obey, but rejected. And in their hearts they turned back to Egypt, 40 saying to Aaron, ‘Make us gods to go before us; as for this Moses who brought us out of the land of Egypt, we do not know what has become of him.’41 And they made a calf in those days, offered sacrifices to the idol, and rejoiced in the works of their own hands. 42 Then God turned and gave them up to worship the host of heaven, as it is written in the book of the Prophets:‘ Did you offer Me slaughtered animals and sacrifices during forty years in the wilderness, O house of Israel? 43 You also took up the tabernacle of Moloch, And the star of your god Remphan, Images which you made to worship; And I will carry you away beyond Babylon.’ God’s True Tabernacle 44 “Our fathers had the tabernacle of witness in the wilderness, as He appointed, instructing Moses to make it according to the pattern that he had seen, 45 which our fathers, having received it in turn, also brought with Joshua into the land possessed by the Gentiles, whom God drove out before the face of our fathers until the days of David, 46 who found favor before God and asked to find a dwelling for the God of Jacob. 47 But Solomon built Him a house. 48 “However, the Most High does not dwell in temples made with hands, as the prophet says: 49 ‘ Heaven is My throne, And earth is My footstool. What house will you build for Me? says the LORD, Or what is the place of My rest? 50 Has My hand not made all these things?’ Israel Resists the Holy Spirit 51 “You stiff-necked and uncircumcised in heart and ears! You always resist the Holy Spirit; as your fathers did, so do you. 52 Which of the prophets did your fathers not persecute? And they killed those who foretold the coming of the Just One, of whom you now have become the betrayers and murderers, 53 who have received the law by the direction of angels and have not kept it.” Stephen the Martyr 54 When they heard these things they were cut to the heart, and they gnashed at him with their teeth. 55 But he, being full of the Holy Spirit, gazed into heaven and saw the glory of God, and Jesus standing at the right hand of God, 56 and said, “Look! I see the heavens opened and the Son of Man standing at the right hand of God!” 57 Then they cried out with a loud voice, stopped their ears, and ran at him with one accord; 58 and they cast him out of the city and stoned him. And the witnesses laid down their clothes at the feet of a young man named Saul. 59 And they stoned Stephen as he was calling on God and saying, “Lord Jesus, receive my spirit.” 60 Then he knelt down and cried out with a loud voice, “Lord, do not charge them with this sin.” And when he had said this, he fell asleep. Acts 12 Herod’s Violence to the Church 1 Now about that time Herod the king stretched out his hand to harass some from the church. 2 Then he killed James the brother of John with the sword. 3 And because he saw that it pleased the Jews, he proceeded further to seize Peter also. Now it was during the Days of Unleavened Bread. 4 So when he had arrested him, he put him in prison, and delivered him to four squads of soldiers to keep him, intending to bring him before the people after Passover. Peter Freed from Prison 5 Peter was therefore kept in prison, but constant prayer was offered to God for him by the church. 6 And when Herod was about to bring him out, that night Peter was sleeping, bound with two chains between two soldiers; and the guards before the door were keeping the prison. 7 Now behold, an angel of the Lord stood by him, and a light shone in the prison; and he struck Peter on the side and raised him up, saying, “Arise quickly!” And his chains fell off his hands. 8 Then the angel said to him, “Gird yourself and tie on your sandals”; and so he did. And he said to him, “Put on your garment and follow me.” 9 So he went out and followed him, and did not know that what was done by the angel was real, but thought he was seeing a vision. 10 When they were past the first and the second guard posts, they came to the iron gate that leads to the city, which opened to them of its own accord; and they went out and went down one street, and immediately the angel departed from him. 11 And when Peter had come to himself, he said, “Now I know for certain that the Lord has sent His angel, and has delivered me from the hand of Herod and from all the expectation of the Jewish people.” 12 So, when he had considered this, he came to the house of Mary, the mother of John whose surname was Mark, where many were gathered together praying. 13 And as Peter knocked at the door of the gate, a girl named Rhoda came to answer. 14 When she recognized Peter’s voice, because of her gladness she did not open the gate, but ran in and announced that Peter stood before the gate. 15 But they said to her, “You are beside yourself!” Yet she kept insisting that it was so. So they said, “It is his angel.” 16 Now Peter continued knocking; and when they opened the door and saw him, they were astonished. 17 But motioning to them with his hand to keep silent, he declared to them how the Lord had brought him out of the prison. And he said, “Go, tell these things to James and to the brethren.” And he departed and went to another place. 18 Then, as soon as it was day, there was no small stir among the soldiers about what had become of Peter. 19 But when Herod had searched for him and not found him, he examined the guards and commanded that they should be put to death. And he went down from Judea to Caesarea, and stayed there. 2 Peter 1 The Trustworthy Prophetic Word 16 For we did not follow cunningly devised fables when we made known to you the power and coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, but were eyewitnesses of His majesty. 17 For He received from God the Father honor and glory when such a voice came to Him from the Excellent Glory: “This is My beloved Son, Continued on page 34 Jan/Feb 2008 Edition www.cosmiceye.info 33 An Invitation to Eternity Continued from page 33 in whom I am well pleased.” 18 And we heard this voice which came from heaven when we were with Him on the holy mountain. 19 And so we have the prophetic word confirmed. which you do well to heed as a light that shines in a dark place, until the day dawns and the morning star rises in your hearts; 20 knowing this first, that no prophecy of Scripture is of any private interpretation, 21 for prophecy never came by the will of man, but holy men of God spoke as they were moved by the Holy Spirit. Some of those who did not believe also came on board. The religious zealot Saul, who persecuted faithful followers of Jesus, ended up in a blinding meeting with the resurrected Jesus and became converted to Paul the Apostle of Jesus. After this meeting, Paul gave up his high religious and social status and went to tell the world about the Savior. The following are various passages from Scripture, dealing with Paul’s efforts (in person and through letters) at reaching various targets of people. He eventually died, following Jesus and telling the truth about Him and the plan of Salvation. Acts 9 The Damascus Road: Saul Converted 1 Then Saul, still breathing threats and murder against the disciples of the Lord, went to the high priest 2 and asked letters from him to the synagogues of Damascus, so that if he found any who were of the Way, whether men or women, he might bring them bound to Jerusalem.3 As he journeyed he came near Damascus, and suddenly a light shone around him from heaven. 4 Then he fell to the ground, and heard a voice saying to him, “Saul, Saul, why are you persecuting Me?” 5 And he said, “Who are You, Lord?” Then the Lord said, “I am Jesus, whom you are persecuting. It is hard for you to kick against the goads.” 6 So he, trembling and astonished, said, “Lord, what do You want me to do?” Then the Lord said to him, “Arise and go into the city, and you will be told what you must do.” 7 And the men who journeyed with 34 him stood speechless, hearing a voice but seeing no one. 8 Then Saul arose from the ground, and when his eyes were opened he saw no one. But they led him by the hand and brought him into Damascus. 9 And he was three days without sight, and neither ate nor drank. Now after many days were past, the Jews plotted to kill him. 24 But their plot became known to Saul. And they watched the gates day and night, to kill him. 25 Then the disciples took him by night and let him down through the wall in a large basket. Ananias Baptizes Saul 10 Now there was a certain disciple at Damascus named Ananias; and to him the Lord said in a vision, “Ananias.” And he said, “Here I am, Lord.” 11 So the Lord said to him, “Arise and go to the street called Straight, and inquire at the house of Judas for one called Saul of Tarsus, for behold, he is praying. 12 And in a vision he has seen a man named Ananias coming in and putting his hand on him, so that he might receive his sight.” 13 Then Ananias answered, “Lord, I have heard from many about this man, how much harm he has done to Your saints in Jerusalem. 14 And here he has authority from the chief priests to bind all who call on Your name.” 15 But the Lord said to him, “Go, for he is a chosen vessel of Mine to bear My name before Gentiles, kings, and the children of Israel. 16 For I will show him how many things he must suffer for My name’s sake.” 17 And Ananias went his way and entered the house; and laying his hands on him he said, “Brother Saul, the Lord Jesus, who appeared to you on the road as you came, has sent me that you may receive your sight and be filled with the Holy Spirit.” 18 Immediately there fell from his eyes something like scales, and he received his sight at once; and he arose and was baptized. 19 So when he had received food, he was strengthened. Then Saul spent some days with the disciples at Damascus. Saul at Jerusalem 26 And when Saul had come to Jerusalem, he tried to join the disciples; but they were all afraid of him, and did not believe that he was a disciple. 27 But Barnabas took him and brought him to the apostles. And he declared to them how he had seen the Lord on the road, and that He had spoken to him, and how he had preached boldly at Damascus in the name of Jesus. 28 So he was with them at Jerusalem, coming in and going out. 29 And he spoke boldly in the name of the Lord Jesus and disputed against the Hellenists, but they attempted to kill him. 30 When the brethren found out, they brought him down to Caesarea and sent him out to Tarsus. Saul Preaches Christ Immediately he preached the Christ in the synagogues, that He is the Son of God. 21 Then all who heard were amazed, and said, “Is this not he who destroyed those who called on this name in Jerusalem, and has come here for that purpose, so that he might bring them bound to the chief priests?” 22 But Saul increased all the more in strength, and confounded the Jews who dwelt in Damascus, proving that this Jesus is the Christ. 20 Saul Escapes Death Jan/Feb 2008 Edition www.cosmiceye.info 23 The Church Prospers 31 Then the churches throughout all Judea, Galilee, and Samaria had peace and were edified. And walking in the fear of the Lord and in the comfort of the Holy Spirit, they were multiplied. Acts 14 At Iconium 1 Now it happened in Iconium that they went together to the synagogue of the Jews, and so spoke that a great multitude both of the Jews and of the Greeks believed. 2 But the unbelieving Jews stirred up the Gentiles and poisoned their minds against the brethren. 3 Therefore they stayed there a long time, speaking boldly in the Lord, who was bearing witness to the word of His grace, granting signs and wonders to be done by their hands.4 But the multitude of the city was divided: part sided with the Jews, and part with the apostles. 5 And when a violent attempt was made by both the Gentiles and Jews, with their rulers, to abuse and stone them, 6 they became aware of it and fled to Lystra and Derbe, cities of Lycaonia, and to the surrounding region. 7 And they were preaching the gospel there. The Plot Against Paul 11 But the following night the Lord stood by him and said, “Be of good cheer, Paul; for as you have testified for Me in Jerusalem, so you must also bear witness at Rome.”12 And when it was day, some of the Jews banded together and bound themselves under an oath, saying that they would neither eat nor drink till they had killed Paul. 13 Now there were more than forty who had formed this conspiracy. 14 They came to the chief priests and elders, and said, “We have bound ourselves under a great oath that we will eat nothing until we have killed Paul. 15 Now you, therefore, together with the council, suggest to the commander that he be brought down to you tomorrow, as though you were going to make further inquiries concerning him; but we are ready to kill him before he comes near.”16 So when Paul’s sister’s son heard of their ambush, he went and entered the barracks and told Paul. 17 Then Paul called one of the centurions to him and said, “Take this young man to the commander, for he has something to tell him.” 18 So he took him and brought him to the commander and said, “Paul the prisoner called me to him and asked me to bring this young man to you. He has something to say to you.”19 Then the commander took him by the hand, went aside, and asked privately, “What is it that you have to tell me?”20 And he said, “The Jews have agreed to ask that you bring Paul down to the council tomorrow, as though they were going to inquire more fully about him. 21 But do not yield to them, for more than forty of them lie in wait for him, men who have bound themselves by an oath that they will neither eat nor drink till they have killed him; and now they are ready, waiting for the promise from you.”22 So the commander let the young man depart, and commanded him , “Tell no one that you have revealed these things to me.” Sent to Felix 23 And he called for two centurions, saying, “Prepare two hundred soldiers, seventy horsemen, and two hundred spearmen to go to Caesarea at the third hour of the night; 24 and provide mounts to set Paul on, and bring him safely to Felix the governor.” 25 He wrote a letter in the following manner:26 Claudius Lysias,To the most excellent governor Felix: Greetings. 27 This man was seized by the Jews and was about to be killed by them. Coming with the troops I rescued him, having learned that he was a Roman. 28 And when I wanted to know the reason they accused him, I brought him before their council. 29 I found out that he was accused concerning questions of their law, but had nothing charged against him deserving of death or chains. 30 And when it was told me that the Jews lay in wait for the man, I sent him immediately to you, and also commanded his accusers to state before you the charges against him.Farewell.31 Then the soldiers, as they were commanded, took Paul and brought him by night to Antipatris. 32 The next day they left the horsemen to go on with him, and returned to the barracks. 33 When they came to Caesarea and had delivered the letter to the governor, they also presented Paul to him. 34 And when the governor had read it, he asked what province he was from. And when he understood that he was from Cilicia, 35 he said, “I will hear you when your accusers also have come.” And he commanded him to be kept in Herod’s Praetorium. Romans 5 Christ in Our Place 8 But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. 9 Much more then, having now been justified by His blood, we shall be saved from wrath through Him. 10 For if when we were enemies we were reconciled to God through the death of His Son, much more, having been reconciled, we shall be saved by His life. 11 And not only that, but we also rejoice in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have now received the reconciliation. Death in Adam, Life in Christ 12 Therefore, just as through one man sin entered the world, and death through sin, and thus death spread to all men, because all sinned— 13 (For until the law sin was in the world, but sin is not imputed when there is no law. 14 Nevertheless death reigned from Adam to Moses, even over those who had not sinned according to the likeness of the transgression of Adam, who is a type of Him who was to come. 15 But the free gift is not like the offense. For if by the one man’s offense many died, much more the grace of God and the gift by the grace of the one Man, Jesus Christ, abounded to many. 16 And the gift is not like that which came through the one who sinned. For the judgment which came from one offense resulted in condemnation, but the free gift which came from many offenses resulted in justification. 17 For if by the one man’s offense death reigned through the one, much more those who receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness will reign in life through the One, Jesus Christ.) 18 Therefore, as through one man’s offense judgment came to all men, resulting in condemnation, even so through one Man’s righteous act the free gift came to all men, resulting in justification of life. 19 For as by one man’s disobedience many were made sinners, so also by one Man’s obedience many will be made righteous. 20 Moreover the law entered that the offense might abound. But where sin abounded, grace abounded much more, 21 so that as sin reigned in death, even so grace might reign through righteousness to eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. 1 Corinthians 1 Christ the Power and Wisdom of God 18 For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God. 19 For it is written: “ I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, And bring to nothing the understanding of the prudent.”20 Where is the wise? Where is the scribe? Where is the disputer of this age? Has not God made foolish the wisdom of this world? 21 For since, in the wisdom of God, the world through wisdom did not know God, it pleased God through the foolishness of the message preached to save those who believe. 22 For Jews request a sign, and Greeks seek after wisdom; 23 but we preach Christ crucified, to the Jews a stumbling block and to the Greeks foolishness, 24 but to those who are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God and the wisdom of God. 25 Because the foolishness of God is wiser than men, and the weakness of God is stronger than men. 1 Corinthians 2 Christ Crucified Continued on page 38 Specializing in ladies & Men alterations Made to measure *Dry cleaning Available* PH 468-1207 siham @ FAX 462-1089 Jan/Feb 2008 Edition www.cosmiceye.info 37 An Invitation to Eternity Continued from page 37 1 And I, brethren, when I came to you, did not come with excellence of speech or of wisdom declaring to you the testimony of God. 2 For I determined not to know anything among you except Jesus Christ and Him crucified. 3 I was with you in weakness, in fear, and in much trembling. 4 And my speech and my preaching were not with persuasive words of human wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power, 5 that your faith should not be in the wisdom of men but in the power of God. Spiritual Wisdom 6 However, we speak wisdom among those who are mature, yet not the wisdom of this age, nor of the rulers of this age, who are coming to nothing. 7 But we speak the wisdom of God in a mystery, the hidden wisdom which God ordained before the ages for our glory, 8 which none of the rulers of this age knew; for had they known, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory. 9 But as it is written: “ Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, nor have entered into the heart of man the things which God has prepared for those who love Him.” 10 But God has revealed them to us through His Spirit. For the Spirit searches all things, yes, the deep things of God. 11 For what man knows the things of a man except the spirit of the man which is in him? Even so no one knows the things of God except the Spirit of God. 12 Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, that we might know the things that have been freely given to us by God. 13 These things we also speak, not in words which man’s wisdom teaches but which the Holy Spirit teaches, comparing spiritual things with spiritual. 14 But the natural man does not receive the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him; nor can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned. 15 But he who is spiritual judges all things, yet he himself is rightly judged by no one. 16 For “who has known the mind of the LORD that he may instruct Him?” But we have the mind of Christ. The enemies of Jesus had a problem with his identity and were not prepared to accept Him even after the proof was before them. They went out of their way to concoct a strategy to attempt to wipe out the truth. It happened after the resurrection and is still happening in our society today. But, the truth cannot be wiped out by pretending it’s not there or by ignoring it. It is more astute to accept it and use it to our advantage. In this particular case, no human on this planet has anything they could use to buy their way out of the curse of death. But, God in His tender mercies has provided the solution free of charge. The plan of Salvation can be installed free in any human by faith in Jesus. No one can earn it any other way. It is by the grace of God that this has been made possible. To reject it will mean total disaster. I wouldn’t want to get caught there. Hope you wouldn’t either. Check it out. Investigate the Truth. This latter theory supported by several hundred of a new breed of scientists, argues that, life is too complex to have happened without an intelligent designer behind it. These bright minded scientists support their argument with scientific methodology. However, because they cannot see and consequently prove who this designer is, they are reluctant to say that it is or isn’t God. More than 400 scientists have signed onto a growing list from all disciplines who are “skeptical of claims for the ability of random mutation and natural selection to account for the complexity of life.” “Darwin’s theory of evolution is the great white elephant of contemporary thought,” said Dr. David Berlinski, a mathematician and philosopher of science with Discovery Institute’s Centre for Science and Culture (CSC). “It is large, almost completely useless, and the object of superstitious awe.” Discovery Institute first published its Statement of Dissent from Darwin in 2001 and a direct challenge to statements made in PBS’ “Evolution” series that no scientists disagreed with Darwin’s evolution. “The fact is that a significant number of scientists are extremely skeptical that Darwinian evolution can explain the origins of life,” said Dr. John G. West, associate director of CSC. “We expect that as scientists engage in the wider debate over materialist evolutionary theories, this list will continue to grow, and grow at an even more rapid pace than we’ve seen this past year. In the last 90 days, 29 scientists, including eight biologists, have signed the ‘Scientific Dissent From Darwinism’. The list includes over 70 biologists.” 38 Jan/Feb 2008 Edition www.cosmiceye.info Looking for an Energy Drink? Studies in the U.S. have found that mice given an added sugar solution in their daily diets showed increased signs of developing Alzheimer’s disease. By calculating the human equivalent associated with ingesting sugary drinks, the researchers said their findings “highlight potential health risks” in connection with increased mental impairment (American Society for Biochemistry and Molecular Biology-ASBMB). Increased sugar intake can cause the pancreas to become overwhelmed and lead to diabetes, heart disease and obesity. These diseases are increasing at alarming rates in the younger population where they used to be associated with aging. As to the sought-for benefits of the drinks, a study reported at Healthfinder.gov showed that beyond the initial fifteen minute boost of a sugary drink, people became even MORE drowsy. This typical feeling has become known as “the crash”. Next, the high amounts of caffeine in these drinks, or the amount people are consuming, cause people to feel “the jittters” and promote addiction, all part of the tradeoff for using common energy drinks. Scientifically, Caffeine interferes with the body’s energy cycles and blocks brain chemicals that promote sleep regularity and deep rest. A few tons of product was involved and pricing is usually per 2200 lbs (1 ton). Using this established protocol and comparing the amounts, the figure presented for cost was almost half what it should have been. Was there something AB was missing? Well, he needed to know before cutting a cheque for less than what he knew should be paid. So, he called and talked to the gentleman who quoted the figure. He insisted that there could be an error and asked for a recalculation. Well the gentleman obliged and took a few minutes to look over the paperwork. Within minutes, the gentleman noticed that instead of the weight being represented in lbs it had been represented in kilograms. So instead of cost per pound he had figured cost per kilo. That quickly explained why AB’s bill was about half what it should have been. The gentleman thanked AB for his effort and AB was happy it all ended well. Story: Courtesy of Cosmic Eye Communications W e live in a society where people have to get paid for their time. Without this, most people without a financial nest egg or an inheritance could not pay their bills. So, in principle, the concept of getting paid for my time is a good one. However, we run into problems, when the concept gets interpreted without any emphasis placed on the time being productive. If someone asked me to go do some work for them at 10, 100, or 1000 dollars an hour, they would be expecting productivity from that agreement. If I show up and do what I’m supposed to do, that someone should be pleased with me. So, if they refuse to pay me they would be on the wrong side of integrity. However, if I show up for this job and put in the time, but do not do the 44 work required of me, would I deserve the wages agreed on? This question could deliver a “yes” or a “no” answer, depending on who’s talking. Here in Canada, we are fortunate to have labour standards, which protect employees from employers who refuse to meet their wage obligations to their employees. But, if you have an employee going to work and not doing what they are being paid for, the standards may be wrongfully used. However, these standards are not applicable when the worker is not an employee. In a case like that, where the one to provide the service and the one who needs the service come together, a dispute over productivity could be tricky enough to end up in court. On Dec 12/07, I called a gentleman I have known for at least nine years to come solve a computer problem in my office. He was to upgrade the Ram in one computer to 2GB and swipe documents from this computer to a second computer. The upgraded Jan/Feb 2008 Edition www.cosmiceye.info computer was to be used to download certain software to be used for publishing; and the second computer was then to be used by me. When I first met this gentleman 9 years ago, he quoted me his rate per hour and did the job within a reasonable length of time. I was content with the result, even though I noticed he was not completely familiar with what he was doing. Someone I had met, told me that he fixed computers. Prior to this, I had actually met him playing bass guitar in church. So, I knew who he was and figured, “Why Not”. It was not a major job. He was to connect a fax machine to a computer, so I could use the computer and the fax machine in sending and receiving faxes. Now, over the years, I’ve called him at various points to help me with computer issues. Over that period, he informed me he took some courses to get Microsoft Certification. He got some business cards made and started operating under the name O.J. Computing Services. He also raised his hourly rate from $25 to $60. In the past, I have thrown suggestions his way in the hope of helping him improve his service. In that effort, we even ran a free Ad for him in our last issue of the magazine. Prior to that, I had noticed that whenever he came over to deal with some problem, he left us with new problems. He would do some fixing and we would end up not being able to find files any longer. Icons on desktops went missing, and on and on. We would then call him back to correct the newly created problems. On one occasion, while I watched him put a new laptop on our network, I realized there was a lot of trial and error going on. He spent about an hour trying several approaches that were not working, all the while complaining that the VISTA operat- ing System was the problem. He eventually chose an option, which accomplished what he was trying to do. I figured that if he knew what he was doing, he would have chosen that option in the first place, and done it in the 3 minutes it took, rather than the hour. He charged us $60 an hour. The whole set up took about 6 hours and I couldn’t help but feel that it was not productive for us and that he had overcharged us. In the end, I was tired and just wanted to go home so, I paid him and ended the day. I didn’t use the laptop on the network and so, I did not know if the set up was done properly or not. But, as it turns out, yesterday (Jan 15/08) we were trying to use the laptop on the network and it wasn’t working. Well, I didn’t want to call him. Instead, I called Future Shop, where I bought the laptop. I figured it might be a computer problem. John, the salesman walked us through the process and helped us set it up within 5-10 minutes. During this process, we found out that, one critical option that needed to be turned on, was turned off in that prior set up. This added to my disappointment over Julian of O.J. Computing Services. However, this is minor compared with why we initially wanted to share this experience. Last month, when he came here to upgrade and swipe the files for us he did something that has caused us a lot of problems. When I initially called him, I told him what we were trying to accomplish, in order to establish if he felt he could do it. He told me he would do it and quoted $45 plus the cost of the Ram, which he quoted as $180. When he got here, I made it clear that we didn’t want to end up not finding files that were there before or end up with an altered desktop. We wanted what we needed, not at the expense of other things that were already working. As it turns out, he did the upgrading of the Ram and file transfer we needed. However, he totally wiped out all folders containing files that were needed for this issue of the magazine. We have spent the last 5 weeks rebuilding all these files. When I was first told of what he had done, I called Julian and asked him what happened. He had no excuse for me, but he told me he was not going to talk to me about anything until he was paid what he wanted. He then hung up. I knew he was not pleased when he left here (Dec 12/07), but I did not think he would conduct himself that way on that date.He wanted to charge us $180 instead of the $45 he had quoted us for his labour. He wanted this in addition to the $180 cost of the 2GB of Ram. I argued that he should not do that. His position was, he had spent 3 hours to do it so, the $45 he quoted was not applicable. This did not please him, but I sighted some of the other times that he charged us amounts I thought were not fair. I told him particularly about the network set up and how I figured that if he knew what he was doing, it would not have cost what he charged us. His response was that, if we had got someone from Future Shop, it would have cost us more to do what he did. I disagreed, and as it turns out, John proved yesterday that Julian did not know what he was doing. We just happened to have paid him for showing up and setting up something that did not work. John fixed his major error on the phone within 10 minutes at no cost to us. On Dec 12/07, I refused to pay him $180 for his labour. I wanted him to stick to his quote of $45. I had allowed him to get away with this kind of conduct way too long. I told him I was only prepared to pay what he had quoted. He verbally expressed his anger and asked to cut him a cheque for what he had quoted earlier. This cheque was for $45 plus $180 and he took it and walked away, saying I was crazy. When I called him the next day and got him hanging up on me, I was not impressed. The fallout of his appearance here included our inability to send and receive faxes until I got someone else to come fix that problem. You’ve already read about the folders that were wiped out. This has caused us a lot of grief. If I could have figured this would happen I would not have called this guy. To a point, I have myself to blame. If I had looked at his conduct with my eyes open, I could have seen this coming. He almost always left us with new and more problems when he came around. I just overlooked it and justified my action with the thought that I’m trying to help a small businessman. That was wrong and I have proof. This guy has cost us money, time, and has caused us a lot of grief. I wouldn’t want any family member, friend, or anyone else for that matter to experience what we have. To make it worse, if he would have acted with dignity and offered to fix the problem, he would probably have created new ones. However, his attitude on the phone by hanging up places him right on the Flipside of Integrity. We are sorry we ran a free Ad for him and hope no one else has had to go through anything like this as a result of the Ad. We sincerely hope, no one else will. ~*~ Jan/Feb 2008 Edition www.cosmiceye.info 45 UPDATE ON: GIVING AWAY FREE PHONE TECHNOLOGY To Help Build Your Customer or Client Base In our last issue, we featured the private label phone dialer opportunity for businesses introduced by Inkh-Ztar. In that article people were directed to Inkh-Ztar’s website for further information. Between the time the article was written and the time the magazine was distributed there were technical issues that were supposed to have been resolved by Adcalls Headquarters in the States. Unfortunately, this did not happen. As a result, anyone who attempted to follow up on that business opportunity would have been left without a logical series of steps to take. Attempts on our part to fix that situation did not produce immediate results. We have had a couple of long discussions with the US Reps of Adcalls who have apologized and promised to fix all problems that have been of concern to us. As of the writing of this article one major problem has been solved. There is now a new presentation that leads to a page for a follow up contact. You will notice that at our site now. We sincerely apologize for all of this. When every concern of ours is addressed, we will inform you. In the meantime, you can download the free dialer at www.inkh-ztar.com and check it out. 46 Jan/Feb 2008 Edition www.cosmiceye.info FLAME RETARDANT (FR) PRODUCTS CASUAL & WORK Jan/Feb 2008 Edition www.cosmiceye.info 47 Fantastic Value for Your Marketing And Advertising Dollar Cosmic Eye magazine offers an aggressively affordable tool, which your business can use to reach a massive audience of consumers and business decision makers.
