Currency Exchange
Conference Dinner and EDEN Dancing
Poland's official currency is the złoty (zł. or PLN).
Exchange rates of the PLN are changing (in the present
the rate is 1 EUR = 4,4 PLN). The safest places to
exchange currencies are banks and post offices, although
they offer lower prices than others, and some of them
collect manipulative charges (about 2-3% per transaction).
Better courses are offered in currency exchange offices
("Kantor wymiany walut"). It is discouraged to exchange
the currencies with outside people (risk of cheat) and in
hotels and airports (low courses and high manipulative
charges).
Friday, 12 June. For delegates who have booked for the
event. Tickets will be handed over upon registration.
The Dinner will be organised in the Kapitan Cook
restaurant that is located in central Gdynia, close to the
sea-side. Coach transport to the venue is included. For
details about the transport, please, check back later to the
Conference pages on the EDEN website.

Safety Instructions
Gastronomy
In the late evenings do not walk alone; it is much safer
and nicer to walk together with your friends.
The most recommendable dishes are: bigos, kotlet
schabowy, pierogi and gołąbki, with typical ingredients of
sauerkraut, beetroot, cucumbers (gherkins), sour cream,
kohlrabi, mushrooms, sausages and smoked sausage. A
meal owes it taste to the herbs and spices used; such as
marjoram, dill, caraway seeds, parsley, or pepper. The
most popular desserts are cakes and pastries. A shot of
vodka is an appropriate addition to festive meals and help
you to digest the food.
Shopping
Shopping wise, Tricity is an attractive place both for those
interested in cultural shopping experience and for those
looking for more commercial shopping, featuring both
large shopping malls as well as little specialty, crafts and
curiosity stores and food markets. In Gdansk you'll find
many little shops to explore located along the city's main
thoroughfare - Dluga Street and Dlygi Rynek (Long
Market). Further north in Sopot, you'll find the commercial
district centered around the lively ul. Bohaterow Monte
Cassino, whilst in Gdynia the brash Starowiejska street is
setting the tone.
