Directions to the Marple Campus (Hibbert Lane Site)
From the M60 Junction 27 /
From the South and West
Exit the M60 at junction 27 and,
following the signs for Marple, take the
A626 (St Mary’s Way). Go up the hill and
turn left at the second set of lights and
continue along the A626 towards
Marple.
Continue along the A626, going
through all the lights, for about 3 miles
until you go over a small bridge near Rose
Hill Railway station (on the right). At the
next major lights fork right and go up
Church Lane (at the side of the Texaco
petrol garage).
Go to the top of Church Lane and turn
right at the mini roundabout on to
Hibbert Lane - the College is on the left
after only about 300 Yards.
There is some visitor parking at this
first entrance but the main car park is
available at a second entrance a little
further on the left.
From the M60 Junction 25 /
From the North and East
Exit the M60 at junction 25 and at the
roundabout take the second major turn
on to the A560 following the signs for
Bredbury. Passing the Superstore and
Macdonalds on the left turn left at the
lights and continue for a short distance
along the A560.
Turn right at the next major lights on
to the A6017 (Bents Lane). Follow this
road until you reach the crossroads where
you turn right on to the A627.
Follow this road down the hill passing
over the River Goyt and a Garden Centre
on the left. At the next lights turn left on
to the A626 signed Marple.
Go up the hill and after about three
quarters of a mile you go over a small
bridge near Rose Hill Railway station (on
the right). At the next major lights fork
right and go up Church Lane (at the side
of the Texaco petrol garage).
Go to the top of Church Lane and turn
right at the mini roundabout on to
Hibbert Lane - the College is on the left
after only about 300 yards.
The main car park is at a second
entrance on the left.
From Glossop
Follow the A626 into Marple going past
the Memorial Park on the left.
At the lights at the bottom of Station
Road go straight across and bear slightly
left (at the side of the Texaco petrol
station) and go up Church Lane.
At the top of Church Lane turn right
at the mini roundabout on to Hibbert Lane
- the College is on the left after only
about 300 yards.
The main car park is at a second
entrance on the left.
To the Buxton Lane Site
Continue along Hibbert Lane and,
after the pedestrian crossing, turn right
on to Buxton Lane. The College is only
about 150 yards on the right.

Directions to the Cheadle Campus
From Manchester
and the North
After following the A34 from Manchester
(signed Congleton) or exiting junction 4
of the M60 continue on the A34
(Kingsway) south towards Wilmslow.
Continue on the A34 through the
junction with the A560 and take the next
major exit to the left (signed Cheadle
Royal). At the roundabout take the first
left (signed Cheadle / Cheadle Hulme).
At the T junction at the bottom of
Schools Hill turn right on to the A5149
Cheadle Road - go past the Village Hotel
on the left and the College appears on
the right after about half a mile.
From Wilmslow
and the South
Take the A34 Wilmslow / Handforth
by-pass (or the B5358 Wilmslow Road) to
the roundabout at ‘Cheadle Royal’. Turn
right off this roundabout (signed Cheadle
/ Cheadle Hulme).
At the T junction at the bottom of
Schools Hill turn right on to the A5149
Cheadle Road - go past the Village Hotel
on the left and the College appears on
the right after about half a mile.
From Stockport Centre
From the town centre / junction 1 of
the M60 follow the A560 Brinksway /
Stockport Road into Cheadle village.
Immediately after a church on the right
turn left on to the A5149 Wilmslow Road
(signposted Cheadle Hulme).
Continue along this road. After passing
the Village Hotel on the left the College
appears on the right after about half a mile.
From Altrincham
and the West
Exit the M60 at junction 4 and follow
the A34 (Kingsway) south towards
Wilmslow. After the junction with the
A560 take the next major exit to the left
(signed Cheadle Royal). At the roundabout
take the first left (signed Cheadle /
Cheadle Hulme).
At the T junction at the bottom of
Schools Hill turn right on to the A5149
Cheadle Road - go past the Village Hotel
on the left and the College appears on
the right after about half a mile.
Alternatively follow the A560 from
Altrincham / Sharston. Continue on the
A560 across the A34 (Kingsway)
following the signs to Cheadle village.
Turn right at the first major crossroads
on to the A5149 Wilmslow Road
(signposted Cheadle Hulme). Continue
along this road. After passing the Village
Hotel on the left the College appears on
the right after about half a mile.

Directions from the Cheadle Campus to the Marple Campus
From the Marple to the
Cheadle campus
On leaving the Hibbert Lane site turn
right and go straight ahead at the mini
roundabout (signed Stockport). Turn left
at the next lights onto the A626 and
continue down the hill going straight
through the first major lights and then
left at the next lights onto the A627
Offerton Road (signed Hazel Grove).
Passing Stockport Golf Club and
Torkington Park on the left turn left at the
first major lights onto the A6 (signed
Macclesfield). Following the signs for
Macclesfield fork right onto the A523
passing Carpet World on the left.
At the next major lights turn right on
the A5143 (signed Bramhall) and go
straight through the next lights passing
Hazel High School and the Leisure Centre
on the right. Go straight ahead at both
mini roundabouts (signed Bramhall) and
bear left at the large roundabout (signed
Bramhall) onto the A5102.
Take the first right onto Carrwood
Road passing Bramhall Park Golf Club on
the left. Go straight ahead at the mini
roundabout (signed Cheadle) and pass
under the railway bridges.
Turn left at the next major lights (signed
Cheadle). Continue along Albert Road
and turn right at the first major lights
(signed Cheadle) onto the A5149.
Continue along Cheadle Road passing
St Andrew’s Church on the left. The
College soon appears on the left with the
entrance also on the left soon after a
slight bend in the road.
From the Cheadle to the
Marple campus
On leaving the College turn right into
Cheadle Road (A5149). Follow this road
and turn left at the first major lights
(signed Stockport). At the next major
lights turn right along the A5149 passing
under railway bridges.
At the first mini roundabout take the
second exit (signed Hazel Grove) and go
straight ahead onto Manor Road passing
Bramhall Golf Park on the right. Turn left
at the end of this road and, at the
roundabout, take the right exit (signed
Hazel Grove). Continue along the A5143
passing Hazel Grove High School on the
left. Go straight through the next lights
and turn left onto the Macclesfield Road
(signed Stockport).
Go under the railway bridge and keep
left following the signs to Stockport.
Bear right immediately after the main
crossroads and turn right at the
Bull’s Head on the A627 Torkington Road
(signed Marple).
Go past Stockport Golf Club on the
right on Offerton Road and turn right at
the traffic lights. Continuing to follow the
signs for Marple go up the hill on the A626
passing Rose Hill Rail Station on the right.
At the next major lights (with Texaco
petrol station on the right) take the right
fork onto Church Lane. Turn right at the
mini roundabout onto Hibbert Lane and
the College main reception and visitor
car park appears on the left after around
300 yards

How to find Cheadle and Marple
Sixth Form College, Stockport
Both the main College campuses at
Cheadle and Marple are close to the
motorway network (M60) and are well
served by road and rail.
By Rail
Trains arrive from all national stations to
both Stockport and Manchester.
Trains from Manchester to Stockport are
every 10 minutes. Trains from
Manchester to Marple are every
30 minutes. The Cheadle campus is
about 15 minutes walk from Cheadle
Hulme station and the Marple
campus is about 15 minutes walk from
both the Marple and Rose Hill railway
stations.
From Stockport Railway station it is
approximately 6 miles to both the
Cheadle and Marple Campuses
- you should allow up to 30 minutes
for a taxi journey.
