The We the People – Alabama statewide Executive Committee met on December 28, 2013 in the Birmingham area to be briefed on the
organization’s 2013 efforts and decide how to proceed in 2014 in further establishing a permanent organization of citizen activists and their supporters to
halt our slide in to socialist tyranny and maintain our Constitutional Republic for future generations.
The committee was briefed on the details, procedures and features of the Alabama State Legislature ongoing Job Performance Report that was first
published in May 2013 on each sitting Alabama legislator and will be maintained on an ongoing basis between elections from now on.
One of the committee members from the Mobile area, who was unable to attend the meeting in person, sent in a report the night before the meeting to
report on how he has used the JPR to let various south Alabama legislators know that We the People are paying attention and intend to hold them
accountable. His report was read to the committee members in attendance and is copied below:
Sorry for this late JRP update but as you requested I want to give a brief summary of my presentations to our Elected Officials in South Alabama.
A - Our first meeting was with one of our State Representative Harry Shiver(R) Dist 64, he was caught off guard as to our JPR but also understands that we
are not going to allow any elected official to go to Montgomery and do the business of the people without being held accountable in front his or her voters. He is
on the fence about Common Core.
B - Our second meeting was with State Senator Tripp Pittman(R)) Dist 32, I added a little drama as to discuss how we all the way through life had to face
the terrible Report Card, he was sitting out in the audience of 60 or so present and told me later that he was in torment during my JPR presentation at which I
called him up front to give official copy, he was relieved at his grade but had to explain before the night was up on how he plans on voting for Repeal of Common
Core, this was a victory commitment we did not expect and feel the JPR is what put it over the top so to speak. Senator Pittman calls me regularly now to give me
information or ask questions about certain elected officials in our area.
C - Made presentation to our Sheriff Hoss Mack whom has a terrible rating at a North Baldwin Tea Party meeting with 50-60 present, he took it in stride
and made promise to work with us on bringing his Grade up to all the other Conservative Constitutional Sheriff’s in Alabama. As of today he has not made any
attempt on the Mack event or called to ask any further questions. We will have a Sheriffs election forum in the spring and as you have already been updated on
there will be a lot of questions concerning his position of a being a Conservative Constitutional Sheriff along with issues of new law for Baldwin County and no
other county in State as to qualification to be on ballot for Sheriff in Baldwin County.
D - State Senator Marc Keahey (D) Dist 22 has refused any contact or meeting with the Tea Party. I had sixty or so in our group to email/call/text him about
his refusal to meet with us. I assure you we will be present when he starts his next campaign for Senate to ask him questions about his voting record.
E - State Representative Alan Baker (R) Dist 66 will not make himself available for meeting and guarantees me that he will vote to support Common Core.
F - I attended a Tea Party meeting with State Representative Joe Faust (R) Dist 94 on Hurricane Insurance but was unable to make presentation of JPR in
front of group so decided to wait for better time for greater impact with JPR. He also agreed that he was for the Repeal of Common Core.
G - During one of our monthly Common Sense Board meeting in west Mobile we had State Senator Hightower(R)) from west Mobile County and during
break I give him his JPR. He was so surprised and disagreed with a couple of the votes he had made so I ask him to review after he gets home and respond to me
via phone or email and I will get corrected and as you can expect no phone call or email. He could not believe he was being watched and all votes were being made
available via Internet to his voters, and this seems to be the norm as they do not want the voting public to see how Conservative or Liberal he or she really votes.
H - Our December meeting with State Representative Stephen McMillan(R)) Dist 95 went well, he accepted his JPR and thanked “We the People-ALA” for
being involved along with agreeing that an educated voter is his best chance to make a difference in Montgomery. Looks forward to meeting with us in the future
to discuss all and any state business. If vote was today he would repeal Common Core but still gathering information but understands the desire of the voters in his
district.
I - Our January 9th 2014 meeting with State Representative Randy Davis (R) Dist 96 will be our last JPR presentation before the January 14th 2014 Session
in Montgomery.
I want to thank everyone that has worked tirelessly on the JPR as it has and will remain the BEST TOOL I have in my Patriotic Tool Box. I feel that if we
continue to beat the drums of JPR the impact will be felt throughout the State of ALABAMA with Conservative rhythms. I apologize for not being able to attend the
executive committee meeting but will remain diligent in pursuing any way possible the Liberties/Freedoms that our forefathers gave us with their time and blood,
and our Military without second thought has DEFENDED Bravely. We have to continue to fight as our Country is crying out for our Patriots to step up and show the
world we will not allow our Constitution to be ignored by anyone.
The briefing and member’s report were very well received by the committee and it was agreed that, going into the 2014 legislative session and
particularly the 2014 election cycle, the Job Performance Report (JPR) will be an effective tool in electing constitutional representatives and holding them
accountable to their constituents between elections.
When Alabama citizens across the state are letting their representatives in Montgomery know by way of their ongoing Job Performance Report that
business as usual is no longer acceptable and that We the People of Alabama will hold our elected representatives accountable to their oath of office
between elections as well as during elections, we will begin to see the Alabama Legislature defending the freedoms of the people instead of serving their
own interests or those of the special interests that have infected the halls of government.
Other subjects briefly discussed during this committee meeting and will be discussed further with the committee members in subsequent
communications included:

The 2014 Alabama legislative agenda – We the People – Alabama supporting members will shortly be sent a ballot of action items for
their consideration and input to be submitted to the Alabama legislature for disposition during the 2014 legislative session and upon which
further job performance ratings will be averaged into the Job Performance Report for each legislator.

It was announced that a new and improved We the People – Alabama website is currently under construction.

The committee was charged with coming up with ways to:

Deal with the apathy that exists among the people.
o
Make more people aware of the We the People – Alabama organization and Job Performance Reports.
o
Grow the organization’s supporting membership and Executive Committee.
o
Get more people involved with the efforts of We the People – Alabama.

What ObamaCare is Really About

I'm a 54 year old consulting engineer and make between $60,000 and $125,000 per year, depending on how hard I work and whether or not
there are work projects out there for me.
My girlfriend is 61 and makes about $18,000 per year, working as a part-time mail clerk.
For me, making $60,000 a year, under ObamaCare, the cheapest, lowest grade policy I can buy, which also happens to impose a $5,000
deductible, costs $482 per month.
For my girlfriend, the same exact policy, same deductible, costs $1 per month. That's right, $1 per month. I'm not making this up.
Don't believe me? Just go to www.coveredca.gov , the ObamaCare website for California and enter the parameters I've mentioned above and
see for yourself. By the way, my zip code is 93940. You'll need to enter that.
So OK, clearly ObamaCare is a scheme that involves putting the cost burden of healthcare onto the middle and upper-income wage earners.
But there's a lot more to it. Stick with me.
And before I make my next points, I'd like you to think about something: I live in Monterey County, in Central California. We have a large
land mass but just 426,000 residents - about the population of Colorado Springs or the city of Omaha.
But we do have a large Hispanic population, including a large number of illegal aliens, and to serve this group we have Natividad Medical
Center, a massive, Federally subsidized county medical complex that takes up an area about one-third the size of the Chrysler Corporation
automobile assembly plant in Belvedere, Illinois (see Google Earth View). Natividad has state-of-the-art operating rooms, Computed Tomography
and Magnetic Resonance Imaging, fully equipped, 24 hour emergency room, and much more. If you have no insurance, if you've been in a drive-by
shooting or have overdosed on crack cocaine, this is where you go. And it's essentially free, because almost everyone who ends up in the ER is
uninsured.
Last year, 2,735 babies were born at Natividad. 32% of these were born to out-of-wedlock teenage mothers, 93% of which were Hispanic.
Less than 20% could demonstrate proof of citizenship, and 71% listed their native language as Spanish. Of these 876 births, only 40 were covered
under [any kind of] private health insurance. The taxpayers paid for the other 836. And in case you were wondering about the entire population - all
2,735 births - less than 24% involved insured coverage or even partial payment on behalf of the patient to the hospital in exchange for services.
Keep this in mind as we move forward.
Now consider this:
If I want to upgrade my policy to a low-deductible premium policy, such as what I had with my last employer, my cost is $886 per month. But
my girlfriend can upgrade her policy to the very same level, for just $4 per month. That's right, $4 per month. $48 per year for a zero-deductible,
premium healthcare policy - the kind of thing you get when you work at IBM (except of course, IBM employees pay an average of $170 per month
out of pocket for their coverage).
I mean, it's bad enough that I will be forced to subsidize the ObamaCare scheme in the first place. But even if I agreed with the basic scheme,
which of course I do not, I would never agree to subsidize premium policies. If I have to pay $482 a month for a budget policy, I sure as hell do not
want the guy I'm subsidizing to get a better policy, for less that 1% of what I have to fork out each month for a low-end policy.
Why must I pay $482 per month for something the other guy gets for a dollar? And why should the other guy get to buy an $886 policy for $4
a month? Think about this: I have to pay $10,632 a year for the same thing that the other guy can get for $48. $10,000 of net income is 60 days of
full time work as an engineer. $48 is something I could pay for collecting aluminum cans and plastic bottles, one day a month.
Are you with me on this? Are you starting to get an idea what ObamaCare is really about?
ObamaCare is not about dealing with inequities in the healthcare system. That's just the cover story. The real story is that it is a massive,
political power grab. Do you think anyone who can insure himself with a premium policy for $4 a month will vote for anyone but the political
party that provides him such a deal?
ObamaCare is about enabling, subsidizing, and expanding the Left's political power base, at taxpayer expense. Why would I vote for anyone
but a Democrat if I can have babies for $4 a month? For that matter, why would I go to college or strive for a better job or income if it means I
have to pay real money for healthcare coverage? Heck, why study engineering when I can be a schlub for $20K per year and buy a new F-150 with
all the money I'm saving?
Why won't the media focus on the real issue; government control of the people and the redistribution of wealth. If they spent as much time on
the real issue as arguing over the inapt roll-out and the foolish cost, then maybe the people would get the idea and do something about it.
And think about those $4-a-month babies - think in terms of propagation models. Think of just how many babies will be born to irresponsible,
under-educated mothers. Will we get a new crop of brain surgeons and particle physicists from the dollar baby club, or will we need more cops,
criminal courts and prisons? One thing you can be certain of: At $4 a month, they'll multiply, and multiply, and multiply. And not one of them will
vote Republican.

a Glimpse of Government-Run Healthcare
Many of us can identify with the frustrating experience that Karri Kinder, a mother of two from Auburn, Alabama, has had with Obamacare.
She penned this open letter to share her story:
An Open Letter to the Obama Administration and American Citizens:
My family’s journey with securing our new insurance under the Affordable Care Act (ACA) started on October 1, 2013. I have decided to
write this letter to let the American people know what it has been like for us. We are a family of four, with two little boys’ ages seven years old and
three years old. My husband and I have had full time jobs for 6 years and 13 years respectively. We have been with the same two companies for
those years. We are a middle class family; we own our three bedroom two bath house, we own two cars, and previously provided our own
insurance for the four of us. We have coverage through Individual Blue from Blue Cross Blue Shield of Alabama until 12/31/13. Our premiums
have been $380.00 a month, which also included dental coverage for all four of us.
On October, 1, 2013 we received our letters like other Alabamians about our new premiums and plans for 2014 from Blue Cross Blue Shield
(BCBS) of Alabama. When I opened our letter to say I had sticker shock was an understatement. Our premiums for the Blue Saver Silver would
now be $753.26. This included the ACA tax but did not include the additional $75.00 we would need to pay in order to keep dental for me and my
husband. So we would need to pay total $828.26 to keep health and dental insurance for the four of us. This payment is roughly $64.00 less than
what we pay for our mortgage each month. I was outraged that anyone thought we could afford this. Sure we have some savings, but with that
price tag we would whittle it down to almost nothing very quickly. I consider savings as a rainy day fund, a start to saving for the kid’s college, our
retirement, etc. I never dreamed in a million years we would need to use it to pay our insurance premiums each month – how in the world could
this help the economy too?

has been estimated that some 50 million people are going to be adversely impacted by Obamacare. When you go to the polls in November,

“Shall Not Be Infringed”

Think about the last four words of the Second Amendment of The Constitution
of the United States. Those four words read; “Shall Not Be Infringed”. Think about
those four words, and then ask yourself if all the different petty and idiotic
restrictions placed on the ability to purchase a gun in all the different states, counties,
and municipalities just to make life difficult for law abiding Americans are
infringements? You bet they are!!!
A politician (read that an idiot liberal) WILL SAY NO IT IS A SAFETY
MEASURE, to keep guns out of the hands of bad or questionable people. Those
restrictive regulations are only feel good measures to make politicians feel safe, as
they do not like armed citizens, since armed citizens make them extremely nervous,
as well they should be.
The bad guys do not walk into a gun store and buy a weapon like you or I do,
they either buy it out of the trunk of some guy’s car, or they steal it during a burglary
or acquire it during some other illegal activity.
I just read this morning that Washington D.C. wants its registered gun owners to
come in at a specified time (their call) get re-fingerprinted, pay a fee for the
electronic fingerprinting, pay a re-registration fee and if they don’t, then their legally
owned weapon will be declared illegal, and they will then be guilty of a felony. Shall
not be infringed?
Several politicians including that scatterbrained Dianne Feinstein have
concealed carry permits, and I am wondering why she thinks it is alright for her to
pack heat, but does not want the rest of us to have the same right? Shall not be
infringed?
In point of fact, what makes these elected idiots think that we need any kind of
permit to keep, bear, or carry firearms of any nature? The only permit we need is
right in the Second Amendment, and they can only do to us what we allow them
to do, and nowhere in the Second Amendment does it give them the authority to
place any kind of restrictions on the ownership, or carrying of those firearms which
we wish to own.
If it is not spelled out in the Constitution or the Bill of Rights the Politicians
have no authority to make law out of thin air or whole cloth. In fact, it doesn’t even
allow them to place any restriction on the caliber, length of barrel, capacity of
magazine or type of ammunition we can use. Shall not be infringed?
The Usurper in Chief doesn’t even have the authority to make laws outside of
the enumerated powers spelled out in the Constitution, though he will try his best to
convince you that he does, but trust me he DOES NOT have that authority.
Recently a couple of states (California being one can’t remember the other right
now) put a ban on lead ammunition which is nothing more than a backdoor
restriction on hunters firearms which is just one more way of restricting the use of
firearms by private citizens, and George Soros has gotten into the act by purchasing
Mossberg fire arms Mfg., and intends to close it. Shall not be infringed?
I shouldn’t think the police deserve all that much trust either, as was the case in
Germany after the war when those bozos were standing in the dock at Nuremberg,
their excuse was I was just following the orders of my superiors, it didn’t fly then
either, they still hung them as guilty, so why take the chance.
I don’t know about you, but I am of the opinion that most of the police I have
come into contact with, should be wearing lightning bolts on the lapels of their
uniforms because their attitude is if you are not wearing a badge, you are
automatically one of the bad guys, and that could get you shot. Shall not be
infringed?

We the People – Alabama will be sending to our
members for their consideration, a ballot of possible
legislative initiatives for the 2014 Alabama legislative
session.
This will be the first in our developing a standardized
process for our members to direct the legislature to those
issues that the We the People – Alabama consider
important.
