ALIVE worship will continue in April and May from
6:30 until 7:30 p.m. (Room #201), the following
Wednesdays: April 10, 17 & 24; May 1, 15 and 22.
(The children’s musical “Down By The Creek Bank”
will be presented to the entire church on May 8 at 7
p.m.)
Come experience an interactive worship service
complete with prayer stations, music and small
group discussion.

May 1: Baked chicken or chicken tenders, rice and gravy,

May 15: (last WNS of the school year) Church-wide cookout
- Hamburgers and hotdogs with all the fixings.
Varnell UMC’s 2013 Confirmation
Class will going to Lake Junaluska for
a one-night retreat. They will visit the
World Methodist Museum and the
United Methodist History and
Archives center. Confirmation Sunday
is May 5, and our confirmands will be
singing and serving Holy Communion.

North GA Needs Your Blood!
VUMC’s American Red Cross Blood Drive will be
Sunday, April 21 from 9:30 until 1:30 p.m. Cathryn
Cole is setting up appointments for the Blood Drive.
Please consider this very important opportunity and
tell all your friends. They do not have to attend VUMC
to participate. Then, invite your friends and coworkers to join us after church for soup, salad and
donating.
Donors must be at least 16 and weigh at least 110
lbs. There is no age cut-off. If you are generally
healthy, you can donate regardless of your age. Just
ask Mary Martha Wilson.
VUMC gave the Red Cross 30 pints last time. Way to
go! Let's try to double that this time around! To

Creating and Building the Youth to
become more Christ-like
A Note from the Youth Guy
Well hello there my friends! Wow! Got some
exciting news for you about what we have
planned in The Factory. We've had some lifechanging events already this year, and we know
that God has many more up His sleeve.
Starting March 27, we are doing an Educational
Series, Wednesday nights at 6:30 in The
Factory, called "Good Sex", which is a 4-week
event geared towards teenage sexuality and
God. This series will teach our students in a safe
atmosphere; they will learn what the Bible tells
us about sex.
We are starting monthly Social Nights beginning
Friday, April 12, and, we will be participating in
the 30-Hour Famine, April 26 – 28.
So, buckle up, because it's gonna be SWEET!

Pioneer Club Sunday

The children will highlight the Pioneer Club Program for
Varnell UMC’s Children’s Ministry by sharing scripture,
serving as offering stewards, leading prayer, passing out
programs and singing.
The total cost of the shutters was paid
for by donations from Varnell UMC’s
church family! Praise God.

Wednesday evenings (August-May), our children are
growing thru Bible study, meaningful Scripture memory,
and fun life-skills activities that make each weekly
meeting memorable! The Pioneer Club program creates
the perfect environment for developing healthy
relationships - with peers, Christian adults, and ultimately,
Jesus Christ - resulting in genuine life-transformation!
The Pioneer Club program is always seeking loving leaders
to minister to Skippers (Preschoolers), Voyagers (Kdg.-1st
graders) and Pathfinders (2nd and 3rd graders).
